Title: OCR software for Japanese Post by: Daisensei on September 10, 2006, 04:25:02 pm Does anybody here know an OCR (optical character recognition) software for Japanese? Violet has sent me scanned script of KNT episodes, and I'm typing it by hand, but using such software could save a lot of time (if it exists, of course). Therefore, I wish to know if there is such a software (preferably for Linux O. S.) or, better, if anybody could do this job and send me the text file. Thanks in advance.

http://www.gnu.org/software/ocrad/ocrad.html or Jocr http://jocr.sourceforge.net/ They are the only two that I know of. I'm not sure weather they support Japanese but it's worth a try.
