Edoropolis Emporium

in honor of the new Smash Bros. online game that is in development for Nintendo Revolution, which newer character(s) and item(s) would you like to see added? newer Pokemon ideas are welcome, too.


the characters i'd like to see are Krystal (Star Fox), Pit (Kid Icarus/Paltena no Kagami), Wario, Ganon (not to be confused with Ganondorf), Bowser Jr., King DeDeDe (Kirby's Dream Land series), Mikey (from StarTropics), and Little Mac (from Punch-Out!!)

and, the items i'd like to see include bow and arrows (Kid Icarus; difference would be that Link and Young Link won't be the only ones who could use this), super bomb (Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past), freeze ray (Super Metroid), and high-jump shoes.

as for newer Pokemon, um...i haven't thought of any right now ^^;


anyway, guys and girls, what would you like to see added to the upcoming Smash Bros. game?

Kuribo's Shoe from SMB3 would be very nice to see. ^^  It was only in 1 level, but it is one of my favorites. 
(It is the Green shoe with the Wind up key in World 5.  The Princess refers to it by name in a letter.)

I'd like to see Mallow or Geno from Super Mario RPG, as well.

Poo from Earthbound hasn't been in SSB yet, has he? If not, he should.

heh, i wouldn't be too sure. he's not really a Pokemon, you know.  :P although he'd make a good obstacle in a stage.

How about Bowser's Koopa kids (SMB3 & World), Typhlosion (pokemon), fighting-type pokemon like the hitmons, Ganon (Zelda), Belmonts (Castlevania) and Diddy & Dixie Kong.

adding any of the Belmonts would be possible...provided Konami grants Nintendo the rights.

Actually, I'd rather see the Koopalings in the Mario Baseball gam comming out. Bowser, Ludwig, Roy, Lemmy, Iggy, Larry, Wendy, Morton, Bowser Jr. That's team "Royal Koopas" right there.

But one of the game's main appeals is supposed to be it's nostalgia, and idea of crossing over legendary and obscure characters for dream matches.  :-\  Much like the Marvel vs Capcom games.

EA's upcoming "Marvel Nemisis" fighting game has little appeal, because nobody has ever been clamoring for a match between Spiderman and New Generic Superhero #7.

I like the idea of a lot of characters to select from, but I also like the nostalgia and the discovery of Nintendo characters I never knew existsed.

Oh well, it'll be interesting to see the seqel when it's fully developed and launched~ :)

the more characters, more stages, and more Pokemon, and more weapons and items we've all grown up with, the better  :D and some ones that Japanese have grown up with, which are introduced to us (like Marth and Roy) would make things much more interesting!   ;-)

The hand in Mario Paint wasn't Smash Bros' Master Hand. It was supposed too be Mario's hand.
However, Mario's glove and Master Hand look exactly the same, so it is sorta confusing.  :O

Capcom's made Ruby Heart for MvsC2, and Monolith Soft has made two new characters for Namco X Capcom. so, i'll also bet that Nintendo will introduce a new character to the new Smash Bros.  ;)

Id like to see Waluigi as an added character...

New items...the microphone from the Kirby series would be fun, maybe even the flight hat from Super Mario 64

How about some deep, dark, and probably someone that no one has even heard of around here...

another update: i think it would also be interesting to see one from the NES/FDS game, Pro Wrestling (someone like Fighter Hayabusa or Starman). or, maybe we'll see someone like Majora, or Eliwood (hero of one of the Fire Emblem games, and Roy's father), or even characters from Golden Sun, or Advance Wars!

one stage could be a battlefield based on Nintendo's Wars series; you'd never know when you'll get blown away by artillery tanks!  :D

They should get characters from tales of symphonia (dude that game is addicting) like Kratos.

They should add Bomberman. =]

Unfortunatly Bomberman is (c) HudsonSoft, so they probably won't add him unless he gets a whole mess of support.

Waluigu? Why would you want Waluigui? To make Wario kill him?.

And it's even more unlikely now that Konami bought out Hudson Soft. =/
However, Hudson continues to co-develop the Mario Party games, so I suppose a small chance still remains.


I'm somewhat bothered by the fact that Waluigi exists. Wario's name is a clever spin on Mario's name. Waluigi... doesn't make any sense.
Plus, Waluigi's really just that Dastardly (http://thor.mirtna.org/oddities/lookalikes/pics/waluigi_mario_series_-_dastardly_dick.jpg) guy from Wacky Races, in disguise.  ;)

since Waluigi is Luigi's nemesis, his name is a pun on Luigi's name. and, it sounds a lot more like "warui" than does Wario's.


heh, guess you could say that. i can tell you one thing, listen to his cackle in Mario Parties 4 and 5; it makes him sound more like Snidely Whiplash, of Dudley Do-Right.


btw, i just picked up a new article regarding who is directing the new Smash Bros., and who will be producing it. it won't be HAL Lab, although they are supporting the developer by giving them full access to the same equipment that was used to make Smash Bros. Melee.

I knew I should've posted here, but I didn't get the chance. Ah well. If it were up to me, then I would like to see: Krystal (Star Fox), Wario, Waluigi, Diddy Kong, Toad (maybe), any of the Legendary Pokemon that are playable, MegaMan (hopefully), Bomberman (it could happen), and anyother characters that are once played on an Nintendo system at anytime. I really don't care.

Right now, that's all I could think of. I'm sure that there are a ton of Nintendo characters out there, but that's all I could think of. Any new Super Smash Brothers game that comes out, I'm gonna get it because I want to know what kind of new characters will be in it.

But, if I want to see something totally new and something unexpected. I would like to see them putting Disney characters in it. I mean, think about it. Nintendo and Disney had been partners in the gaming industry for years. Even though Disney did help out with the Kingdom Hearts game for PS2 and Squaresoft, but Disney and Nintendo had been in great partnership for years WAY before Sony and Squaresoft. I think it would be a great tribute for their friendship they had if they would at least put ONE Disney Character in there. I think that would be great. But, that's my opinion. What do yo guys think?

Nintendo and Disney characters in a game together would be very interesting, but I've always found their relationship a little iffy. Capcom seemed to have the strongest ties with Disney in both the 8-bit and 16-bit era, and the only Nintendo-published, Disney-related game I know of was Mickey's Speedyway USA for N64, but it was developed by Rareware.

I would still like to see such a thing happen some day though.

I would like to see Mallow for Mario RPG in it, for sheer laughs, tho any new chara would be good as long as i could play them better than Kirby in the last game.

As for items, how about a master ball that lets us catpure charaters, making them lose a life, that would be intresting wouldnt it

If they were to make another Fighter or MvC sequel, I would just want Dante in there from Devil May Cry series.

Um. We are talking about Super Smash Brothers, man. Not MvC or any other fighting game. And also, I had never seen the series so I really don't know if he could be a good edition to any game. Especially not to Super Smash Brothers.

After sitting and spending the last 4 days (and first 4 days) of my easter holidays playing teh Mario RPG on my SNES emulator, may i suggest Geno and Smithy?

How about characters that have been scrapped or unused. I'm talking about chars like:
Super Mario Bros 2: Birdo (A pink egg-spitting dinosaur. I know it used in recent Mario Kart games, but still.), Mouser (A sunglasses-wearing rodent that throws bombs), Triclyde (A fire-breathing, three-headed serpent) & Wart (Amphibious version of Bowser).

Or how about including Capcom with Street Fighter & MegaMan characters. They have been on Nintendo before.

I think the whole Super Smash Brothers theme is definitly to make dream matches between Nintendo characters so fans can see who they think once and for all is the best Nintendo character.

Pokemon seems to be a big idea with Nintendo, as 3 characters got added in the last one. We might be seeing more playable Pokemon in the next one. I haven't been around them for years, so I might need to dig up some names, but one great choice would be Meowth. Mewtwo, Pikachu, and Jigglypuff all had key roles in the storyline. (And of course, Pichu is the lower form of the most popular one...) Meowth also had a key role, and is also bipedal with upper and lower appendages. We should look out for him.

Mario characters are a big part of the game, and there are so many to choose from. People like Birdo, Wario, Waluigi, Toad, Toadette, Daisy, Wart, Koopa Kids, and many more are all free game. However, I think we might see more of Mario's counter parts. Such as, Baby Mario. Or even the possibility of Shadow Mario from Sunshine. Also, with the Game and Watch trend, we might need to look out for Paper Mario. Overall, there are just too many characters to look out for in the Mario area. (Although, I forgot to mention my favorite pick, from Mario Party 7: Dry Bones. ^_^)

Kirby seems lonely. MetaKnight and DeDeDe might make an appearance. And even if they don't I am looking foward to the new forms Kirby will be able to take on.

Link and his crew seem to be set. You have all three parts of the Triforce there, along with Young Link and Sheik. I seriously doubt there will be anyone else playable from the Legend of Zelda series.

Donkey Kong is also lonely. Diddy and/or Dixie making their debutes is highly possible. We might even see K. Rool or a Kremling or two.

Star Fox does have its possible's and maybe's. Definitly not Peppy or Slippy though. Peppy seems a little too old to be roughing it with his team mates, and Slippy, well, is Slippy, let's face it.

One of the big time mysteries is if they will put in an old school character nobody will think of again. There are so many games that were made in the past that no one is really sure of what may come from that era, if any character.

Ness might see some company, but then again, maybe not.

Samus didn't really have any other characters that seemed likely to be playable, until Hunters came out. Now, there are quite a few choices to pick from that could be seen in the next game.
