Title: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 12, 2006, 07:16:48 pm Since I got busy with my drawings for a while, here are two of my first ever SPC fan art... of none other than Guido Anchovy!
I did two versions of the same pic: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/guido_bwsmall.jpg - line art http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/41247440/?&q=by%3Aste-c+in%3Ascraps&qh=sort%3Atime (can't describe the second version but it's got the colour blue splattered all over it!) I'm also working on a third version which will be coloured the way it should be. Comments and criticism are welcome of course! Pssst. This is the 700th topic. ;-) Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Methid Man on October 12, 2006, 08:18:52 pm Looks awesome. I like it. :3
And congrats on making the 700th post! -- Sam the Methid Man Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: felineki on October 12, 2006, 08:45:42 pm Nice! Design seems spot on, linework is nice and clean. Some of the lines actually look a bit more correct in the "sketchy" version, though. For example, his "backback" looks a little crooked in the B&W lineart version, but looks fine in the sketchy version. But maybe it's just my eyes playing tricks on me, or I'm interpreting some of the lines incorrectly.
I'll be looking forward to seeing the colored version! :) Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Daisensei on October 12, 2006, 10:48:55 pm Looks awesome. I like it. :3 Did you mean 700th topic? And congrats on making the 700th post! -- Sam the Methid Man Oh, yes, I liked your Guido drawing. I'm happy to see the fans working. Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 13, 2006, 04:23:57 am Nice! Design seems spot on, linework is nice and clean. However, whenever I penned over my pencil sketches, it's not usually that good. I prefer the looseness of the pencil rather than pen, unless the inking is done better. But never fear - small mistakes will turn out fine in the coloured version. I also done some of my own reference drawings for the SPC before drawing =], all in anime style. Some of ;], a couple of ;) but I haven't got round to do Big Cheese yet (ahem!) Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Violet on October 14, 2006, 10:50:40 pm Nice job!
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 16, 2006, 03:10:22 pm Here is s'more of my art. It's :polly: & :gurulou: !
It seems like my twisted sense of humour is creeping back on me again. :P If you want to find out what Guru Lou is scared of, check this link: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/polly_lou.jpg I'm gonna do another Lou and Polly drawing that follows after this one. And having some knowledge of KNT will be a good idea!! Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: felineki on October 16, 2006, 03:36:22 pm Ha, very cool! :D Great work on the facial expressions. I like how you made Polly's tail all "kinky", that was always one of my favorite details on how the animators depicted the cats when shocked or startled. That Guru Lou just can't keep his hands to himself, can he? At least this time they're in a slightly less inappropriate place than they often are. *ahem* He really needs to learn the meaning of the term "personal space". And Guido shows us how wielding an umbrella, while an unorthodox choice for a weapon, has its advantages.
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Violet on October 17, 2006, 12:11:02 am Tee-hee
Nice picture Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: AsterCrow on October 17, 2006, 03:46:22 am haha, love the motion and expressions in the polly/lou pic. nice sketch- now go finish it! ;)
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 18, 2006, 06:36:22 pm Remember Crimson Dawn? Sure you do! Check out :francine: in her battle armour:
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/francine_armour.jpg Poor girl... I've just finished reading through Jonas Miles' awesome fanfic today and I loved how the characters were handled. This is unfinished though, but might get round to colour it. So what do ya think, everyone? Colour or leave it as it is? Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: cartoonking10749 on October 18, 2006, 06:50:28 pm Cool. :D A little different than I imagined, but if it matches the description, then ok. Looks good, mate.
"Crimson Dawn" rules!!! I like to see it in colour. How's this for an idea: Illustrations of scenes & characters from the story. That'll be beyond cool. Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 18, 2006, 07:19:29 pm How's this for an idea: Illustrations of scenes & characters from the story. That'll be beyond cool. Yeah! I thought about that since I finished reading the story. Y' know, some illustrations would really captivate people who have read the story or not. And I take the colouring thing as a 'yes', right? ;-) I reckon fanfiction needs more illustrations. :P Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: felineki on October 19, 2006, 01:34:46 am Haven't read this fanfic, but the drawing is nice! She's very cute, but the expression on her face makes it clear she means business.
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Daisensei on October 20, 2006, 05:10:13 pm Nice sketch, but the :francine:'s tail lacks bell in its extremity.
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: BurkeWorld on October 20, 2006, 08:47:13 pm Nice sketch, but the :francine:'s tail lacks bell in its extremity. *Ding Ding!* Yeah, thought the bell is one of her most prominent features! Burkey Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 21, 2006, 08:00:02 am Nice sketch, but the :francine:'s tail lacks bell in its extremity. *Ding Ding!* Yeah, thought the bell is one of her most prominent features! Burkey 8O Whoops! How on earth did I not notice :francine:'s bell on her tail? That notches the 'cute' factor up 10% in my book! Yup! The next picture will make up for that little mistake, I promise. Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: NPC on October 21, 2006, 03:41:39 pm Fran looks a lot like Polly in armor! 8O
Good job, even though I haven't read the source material. ;-) Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 21, 2006, 05:49:40 pm My Guido pic is finally done. Enjoy - it has never been posted anywhere else (other than DA...) =]
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/guido_fin.png Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 22, 2006, 06:28:40 pm My Guido pic is finally done. Enjoy - it has never been posted anywhere else (other than DA...) =] http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/guido_fin.png EDIT - Oct 22nd Redrawn picture of 'Crimson Dawn' Francine with various sketches around her. And yes, I've corrected the bell tail. ::) http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/franarmour_col.png Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: felineki on October 22, 2006, 06:34:00 pm Nice work on the two colored pics! I like the sketch in the lower-left of the Francine picture, very cute.
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: AsterCrow on October 23, 2006, 01:28:01 am Much better with the giant bell on the tail. Without it she definitely wasn't as recognizible.
And.. you're gonna hate me for saying this after you've already got the guido pic colored and everything, but i think that his feet should be angled lower towards the 'ground'. It just looks like he's standing on a slope or something. *shrug* ---<<<<> Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 23, 2006, 04:35:55 pm Guido's feet... yeah, you're right. It's easy to notice these mistakes on the finished piece, but nevertheless I still enjoyed drawing the pose.
Now I've got a cool idea with SPC art: all I need to do is draw a character and match it with some silly proverb or catchphrase from the show (and by jeebus, there are LOADS of them!!). The finishing result will be some sort of poster or one of those humorous car stickers you find sometimes. I already got a good one for Polly and an even better one for Bad Bird, but can you think of some? Any suggestions can go on this topic. Anyone can pitch in although I have some of my own ideas like I've mentioned before. ;-) Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Mechadon on October 23, 2006, 07:44:51 pm I watched the Polly's Magical Flute episode. I couldn't help but laugh when Bad Bird says: "Stop and you die!" It would be great to have a pic of BB with him saying that.
Preferably Wallpaper sized. This is off topic. In the same episode. What does Speedy say when he jumps down his shute? Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: NPC on October 24, 2006, 12:03:42 am Ishcabibble!(Spelling debatable, folks.) ;)
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 24, 2006, 03:48:41 am I need to watch that episode... I actually downloaded it here not long ago. Better watch it after I get back from work.
Who else found that scene about the villains' eyebrows amusing to listen to in the 2nd episode. And then Bad Bird finishes it off with: "It's a good day to be evil. I don't even care whether I have eyebrows or not!" Heh heh. Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Mechadon on October 24, 2006, 03:51:08 pm Ishcabibble!(Spelling debatable, folks.) ;) Yes. But what does it mean? ?:|Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: NPC on October 24, 2006, 04:59:16 pm Er... fish?
It's not really supposed to mean anything. It's just one of the show's many ways of setting Speedy slightly apart from the other two cats. :polly:"Yowee!" :guido:"Zowee!" :speedy:"Ishcabibble!" Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Mechadon on October 24, 2006, 05:22:34 pm I found something regarding ishkabibble.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ishkabibble&defid=1132471 Now the word has more meaning to me. Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 24, 2006, 06:18:15 pm "Yowee?" "Zowee?" "Ishcabibble?!" Those words remind me of one of those old childrens' preschool shows I used to watch. For some reason, I don't know... :-\
Here's a preview pic of :badbird: and I've chosen a pretty cool phrase if you get the expression (watch "If You Knew Sushi Like I Knew Sushi for ideas!!") http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/badbird_noeyebrows_preview.png Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Takila on October 25, 2006, 09:08:37 pm On the topic of bumper stickers, how's this?
:bigcheese: "It's supposed to be a monster, for crying out loud! Who cares if it gets terrible gas mileage!?" Edit: As an idea, of course. Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 26, 2006, 12:40:46 pm I did it!! Here is a bumper sticker-style novelty of :badbird:
(http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/badbird_noeyebrows.png) Witty, eh? :) Now I need to do Polly next, and I'll keep everyone's suggestions in mind in case I run out of ideas. Think I'll make this my new signature! :) Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: felineki on October 26, 2006, 03:40:52 pm Ooh, very cool. I like the olive green you used, looks great on him. You did a very nice job on drawing his claws.
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: AsterCrow on October 26, 2006, 07:55:46 pm Hahaha... I loooove that BB bumper sticker pic. Heck yeah... who needs eyebrows! >:7
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Mechadon on October 26, 2006, 11:14:32 pm I'd like a bumper sticker that says: "Who ever said violence doesn't solve anything wasn't a Pizza Cat."
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Methid Man on October 26, 2006, 11:36:34 pm Wow, I like the Guido pic there, SteC. Your other art looks great too. Really neat stuff. :3
-- Sam the Methid Man Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on October 31, 2006, 06:17:32 pm Sadly I don't have any more pics to show you all as of late, due to my college classes starting again this week. :(
I'll definately put em up here when I eventually get some time off! ;-) Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on November 10, 2006, 10:22:49 am I return with more art, guys! This time, it was done as a request from Methid Man to draw Jazzfox, an albino fox for her. Since he really liked it a lot, I'd put it up here despite it not being SPC art.
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/jazzfox_col.png Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Mechadon on November 10, 2006, 04:02:31 pm Very nice. She looks more like a Sonic character than anything else. I guess the obvious influence is from Tails.
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: robinoz on November 12, 2006, 06:45:22 pm Cuuuuuuuuuuuuute
(that probably sounds weird coming from a guy... :( ) i'm just now learning to draw, so you're kinda an inspiration SteC! Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on November 12, 2006, 07:09:44 pm Cuuuuuuuuuuuuute (that probably sounds weird coming from a guy... :( ) i'm just now learning to draw, so you're kinda an inspiration SteC! Why, thank you, robinoz! (Us guys like to say 'cute' all the time, almost as much as the gals...) Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: NPC on November 13, 2006, 07:06:13 pm *covers ears at the sound of c*te*
Yes, that pic reminds me of Sonic for some reason... Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Sinder on November 14, 2006, 11:53:59 pm Dude, no way. Crimson Dawn fanart? ?:|
I'm quite flattered, and very pleased that you enjoyed the story so much. I'm only sorry that it wasn't a better read to begin with. :O I asked for fanart contributions eight or nine years ago, back when the story was first written, but I believe this is only the second such piece that I've ever received (Kristopher Grows did a picture of Falcone sometime in 1999). Nice work; I like your art style. I'm impressed that you paid such close attention to detail, like the hexagon crystal on Francine's visor and the Omega symbols on her forearms; it's been so many years that I can't remember precisely why I included them in the first place. If you should feel the urge to create more, then by all means, feel free, with my blessing. I apologize for not commenting here earlier, but I haven't been visiting the forum very regularly. ;) Thanks a lot! Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on November 15, 2006, 03:38:17 pm Aha! Compliments from the writer himself! :D :D :D I'm honoured!
There are only two fanart contributions to this amazing story?! Hmm, I have a feeling that something's not right... :D I actually thought about doing more art from the story. So sometime, yeah, I can do some more. -_-_-_-_ UPDATE Without risking of double posting, I cooked up this Polly piccy just recently. The colouring style here is different than usual and I left the pencil lines on because I'm so bad at inking. Once a background is drawn, it'll be up on DA in no time. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/polly_basket.png In URL coz the file is pretty big 0_0 Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on August 13, 2007, 09:29:50 pm I've finally got up and drew a piece of artwork for you all!
(http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/polly_stands_small.jpg) The next step is to get round to actually colouring in sweet Polly. Otherwise she'll be like this for the time being... >:[ Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: TGLucario475 on August 14, 2007, 04:30:19 am looks like she's wearing a sports bra & she doesnt look very happy, must be cos ya drew her with a sports bra on :P
but nice drawing, cant wait for the colored version tho! Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: felineki on August 14, 2007, 05:26:22 am Looks like her usual armor to me. Very nice drawing, SteC. Good proportions, very cute face.
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: KyoZaber on August 14, 2007, 11:57:25 pm Excellent artwork as always SteC.
I'm in agreement with folks here that she's in a nice, subtle, cute pose. After a little coloring, she'll look that much cuter. ^_^ Polly'd be proud. You're getting her good side. :-* Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: SteC on September 21, 2007, 06:35:23 am Polly's holding a pair of bug, round pizzas. Maybe they're for advertising...? It's only a sketch and this is how far I went, drawn months ago. :(
(http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/polly_skips.jpg) By the way, does anybody here ever complain that they only see too much of one character on a fanart in general? Tell me what you all think. I can do other SPC characters no problem, but I picked this one from one of my drawing pads today. Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Rojo Mojo on September 21, 2007, 07:48:13 am We can't have enough of these fan art.
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: TGLucario475 on September 21, 2007, 07:52:32 am nice work SteC!
Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: felineki on September 21, 2007, 05:07:13 pm By the way, does anybody here ever complain that they only see too much of one character on a fanart in general? Tell me what you all think. I can do other SPC characters no problem, but I picked this one from one of my drawing pads today. You're the artist, and you're just doing this for fun, so in the end it's up to you. Draw what you enjoy drawing. Trying out different things is good for building your skills, though.I like that last Polly sketch a lot. ;] Title: Re: The fanart of SteC Post by: Violet on September 30, 2007, 06:29:19 am I agree, draw what's fun for you to draw. Anyway, all SPC fans automatically like Polly. She might not be everyone's #1 favorite, but everyone likes her.
