I'm playing through 2 again. Though the story isn't as great as the first ones, I like shooting Brutes.

I've been thinking about getting a 360 just for the Halo series of games.
I'm still getting used to the control layout, however that's not why I like it.
The story is pretty nifty.

The movie doesn't look too bad.

Well I just saw the 'Starry Night' trailer for Halo 3 and it looks awesome! I can't wait for this game to come out.

I LoL'ed quite nicely at this, as most FPS games are like this online.

I'm serious. We are going to discuss why Halo as a whole sucks. Or maybe we can look at specific games in the series. I know a few Halo fans who argue that Halo 2 sucks.

Yeah, I've got a bit of a gripe over Halo... lets just say that it's why I'm not playing video games as much these days.

Perhaps my post count is because I've been here a lot longer than about 95% of you all. And yes, my ultra high 1.97 posts per day is just SO bad... I should never post again! ::)

As for Halo sucking, it indeed sucks. I've played both versions and despite the great reviews I've heard from people about it, I personally didn't enjoy it. Probably because I was raised on Half-Life, Deus Ex and now the ultra cool Half-Life 2 and it's follow up episodes. All through Univeristy, my fellow floor buds had LAN games for Counter-Strike, DoD and the like, but we also had gaming night of other venues, such as Halo and Halo 2 and any other FPS's out there for different systems. I tried playing the Halo series, did pretty good score-wise for not owning an X-Box myself, but didn't have as much fun as Lanning it up for CS or DoD. The Halo controls seemed too clunky for me and the gameplay was nothing original, the graphics I don't really care for as I look for gameplay rather than "Ohh that's pretty" sort of approach. The HL series has provided me so much entertainment in these past years with the Mod community and map making and all the other editting possible with the engine, that is what keeps gamers faithful. So there, Halo sucks, but it is my opinion and I gave it; so you can take it or leave it.

So sit down, Mech, and know your place.

Yes. I'm am satisfied with your opinion. At least it lost to worthy opponents such as CS and DOD. If you would have said something like Metroid Prime was better, I would still hate you.
And yes the gravity gun does beat the plasma sword.

Metroid Prime and it's sequel is pretty good, but I can't overly compare them to Halo and Halo 2.

I don't have a GC nor an X-Box, the last system I owned was an N64, and it's almost 11 years old now.

In the end, we play whatever the hell we want and hate/rag on other games that are "rival's" to our fave games. There has always been a rift between Halo fans and Half-Life fans, so this is nothin' new.

I prefer Metroid, to be honest. I'm just a fan of Halo.

But we all know, that Black is perhaps the nicest FPS in history. and Doom.

I liked CS and DoD up until every person in the world started playing with cheats. Then it just got irritating. I loved respawning and getting sniped through 15 buildings, hehe.

I never really got into Half-Life. The game(s) just didn't impress me at all when I played them.

Halo and Halo 2 were decent games. I have a soft spot for Goldeneye on the N64 though. Me and my friends wasted hours upon hours on that game when it first came out. :D

The last FPS that I really liked was Far Cry.

I would love to play CS and DoD again. I gotta get my copy of Half-Life back from my cousin.

I've been playing Goldeneye source recently, its the same Goldeneye game everyone loves remade in the new source engine.

Not to get on topic or anything, but...

We should have some sort of a list of halo 2 players here (orfrequently used names for Halo 1 on the PC).

Whenever I'm on Halo 1, I use the the username 'a vehicle' and am on the fastest server that I can find.

When I play Halo I use the name Mechadon.  :D

It's funny 'cause they're SCOTTISH! :D

The PC version of Halo is even worse: all people use are pistols and grenades (mostly pistols).  That includes me as well, and I frequently come out as 1st-3rd on low ping servers.

Don't get me wrong: I never talk trash while playing.  I just enjoy hunting down all those players concerned about their masculinity.
