No, you're not an idiot. Your observations are correct. In the original, Cheese is supposed to be a fox. But in SPC they say he's a rat.

Welcome to the EE forums!  :D

the big cheese is just like boy geogre, a guy, but in touch with his female side, he would suit well in the "I Want To Break Free" music video :D

Big Cheese is a rat in the dubbed version, but he is/was a fox in the orginial version ;)

But apparently, he's only a "rat" in the English version.  I think he's a fox in the Spanish/French/Germn/Italian/Hebrew versions.

My story to cover up for the English version's failure to identify him correctly is that: He's a fox, but was adopted and raised by rats, and so he thinks of himself as one.

But I just made that up.

LOL. Big Cheese is male. At least, physically. (I applaud the English dub team for not censoring his flirting and cross-dressing antics.)

He was a fox in KNT, but SPC referred to him as a rat. Probably because Americans tend to identify more negative qualities with those animals, and they're also more "natural" enemies of cats.

The true question should be if could he get to be the double of Minnie Mouse... he was looking forward that...

Nope, Big Cheese wanted to be a idol singer...

That's too bad; American Idol didn't exist when SPC came out. ^^

"Idol Singer" is a singer known for their looks/style as much as their music (or in some cases, more than their music).  The "Idol" term is used a lot in Japan and has nothing to do with the American Idol TV show.   Morning Musume would be an example of an Idol Singer group.

Big Cheese doesn't really qualify, but that wouldn't stop him from trying.

Ahh, that makes sense.

Well, at least Polly and Lucille were great idol singers. ^^

I wonder what Simon Cowell would say about Big Cheese's performance. I'm thinking of something like this:

"...I honestly feel as if I've been assaulted and violated by that performance. I have an urge to call the police and issue a restraining order on behalf of the entire world, so that no innocent bystanders may legally be within earshot of your voice."

...You guys?  ;-)
