Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Daisensei on March 04, 2007, 09:32:11 pm I use Debian GNU/Linux, in that distribution the Firefox is renamed as Iceweasel. Most of time I use Galeon though.
Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Methid Man on March 05, 2007, 12:56:05 am I'm still using IE.
And yes I've already tried Firefox... xP -- Sam the Methid Man Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Threaux on March 05, 2007, 01:20:32 am Firefox or Opera on all my systems and OS partitions.
Title: Re: FireFox Post by: AsterCrow on March 05, 2007, 03:43:07 am Microsoft has been trying to convince people NOT to use IE because of all its security leaks... it's a problem with the code. I believe the newest couple of versions are okay, but they are still not as safe or as fast as Firefox for your PC.
I sometimes use Firefox, but not very often. I use Safari for 95% of my web browsing needs because for mac it's faster (and nicer looking) than Firefox. Title: Re: FireFox Post by: necron9dee9 on March 06, 2007, 03:40:07 am I use Firefox on PC, and Safari or Firefox on Mac. I tend to use Firefox a bit more on Macs since there's alot of formatting issues with certain webpages I visit with Safari.
Title: Re: FireFox Post by: SteC on March 06, 2007, 10:39:55 am I'm not exactly 'scared' of using FireFox since I never tried it before, but... I am. :(
Title: Re: FireFox Post by: TGLucario475 on March 06, 2007, 01:58:22 pm i used firefox previously, but i didnt like it, since that i used SlimBrowser, its a tabbed browser, but it used @ a max of 110MB of virtual memory :O
i've used IE b4, but not v7 tho.. Title: Re: FireFox Post by: BurkeWorld on March 07, 2007, 12:36:33 am FF of course.
~Burkey Title: Re: FireFox Post by: adam808 on March 07, 2007, 04:59:00 am Firefox in Windows XP, Vista, and Ubuntu 6.10 (Debian based Linux).
I still have a problem playing small wavs and MIDIs embedded in webpages though. Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Methid Man on March 07, 2007, 09:18:49 am i've used IE b4, but not v7 tho.. Don't bother. It sucks. -- Sam the Methid Man Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Supersonic on March 08, 2007, 01:08:40 am I use Opera. ?:|
Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Purrcat on May 17, 2007, 09:03:28 pm Kicked out Safari in favour of Firefox. Always liked Netscape better than IE before Netscape got the heartattack called IE. However I use w3m at work so it seems like I'm working.
Title: Re: FireFox Post by: TGLucario475 on May 20, 2007, 12:06:58 pm whats w3m?
i've used netscape, but never liked it! Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Daisensei on May 20, 2007, 02:44:37 pm whats w3m? W3M is a text only browser, see how the Edoropolis Emporium front page looks within it. Really it looks like a boring working environment for programmer, isn't it Purrcat? ;-) i've used netscape, but never liked it! I knew other text only browse, it's Lynx, but less powerful than W3M. Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Purrcat on May 20, 2007, 05:09:58 pm Oh well I'm used to working text-only. Usually a stack of xterms, green-on-black. I program with vi, no syntax highlight for it makes my eyes hurt. So, not really that boring, in my view ;) All that clicking in other environments wears me down :P
Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Violet on May 21, 2007, 12:51:18 am I program with vi, no syntax highlight for it makes my eyes hurt. I don't remember programming with you, so don't blame me if your eyes hurt! -Vi Title: Re: FireFox Post by: TGLucario475 on May 21, 2007, 01:00:12 pm O_O that was gotta be the weirdest browser YET, HOW could ya use it?
Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Daisensei on May 21, 2007, 04:28:07 pm O_O that was gotta be the weirdest browser YET, HOW could ya use it? I guess most young Win users don't know about DOS era, when we operated computer through key typing. Unix environments (including linux) still rely much in commands entered by keyboard, without graphical elements. Sounds pretty odd? One can work very efficiently in such environment, sometimes more than in point-click-and-drag desktop. I'm not sure if there are text only browsers for DOS though.I program with vi, no syntax highlight for it makes my eyes hurt. I don't remember programming with you, so don't blame me if your eyes hurt! -Vi I don't know if Violet's remark is serious or if she is kidding... :-\ Anyway vi is a lengendary text editor for Unix. Title: Re: FireFox Post by: Purrcat on May 21, 2007, 04:35:32 pm well put. vi is a text editor from the early age of text editors. It confuses you to no end if you've never used it before, but after (a lot of) practice, it works so much faster than anything else; that's probably why it's still in use. However, you need to be the type of guy or gall who isn't afraid to type a lot of esoteric nonsense. It's only fast if you know it by heart.
