Niconico Video (http://www.nicovideo.jp/) is a Japanese site a lot like Youtube, where users can upload and share streaming videos. One of the interesting features of this site is how the comment system works. When you comment on a video, you comment is tagged with the current time position of the video. When you watch a video, all comments that have been entered so far will scroll by as the video reaches the points they were entered at. Thus, you can read peoples' thoughts and comments on various scenes as you watch them.

Currently the first 12 episodes of KNT have been uploaded, with episode 12 having been uploaded a few weeks ago, and episode 10 havng been reuploaded just today; so it seems more might be on the way.

Unlike Youtube, Nicovideo requires registration (http://www.nicovideo.jp/regist). The forms are, from top to bottom: e-mail address, username, password, password (confirmation). You'll get an e-mail with a confirmation link that you'll have to click to activate your account.

The site has two types of memberships, free and premium, which requires a fee. Sometimes the site restricts use to premium members only, so if you've registered and find the site's not letting you in, just try again later.

If you want to view videos without the comments scrolling by, check the lower of the two boxes near the lower-right corner of the video screen (the one labeled "コメント非表示").

This temps me more to learn nihongo. But then I remember it's hard.

Episode 13 (http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm743626) was just uploaded. The bit with Gennarisai standing in front of a swirling starry background, with his mustache dramatically blowing in the wind... then the camera zooming out to show that some ninja crows are turning the background with a crank and blowing a fan on him is one of my favorite scenes in the series. :D

Can someone capture these FLVs? Because I stll can't view them.

Epispdes are still being steadily uploaded, everything up through #44 is available as of now. There are lots of positive comments, plenty of people saying that they remember the show fondly and want to see it on DVD.

I think who ever uploaded these has access to good quality copies.  Probably from the video tapes that were sold.  Too bad these video sites always downgrade the quality so much.

To expand on Violet's post, something very interesting has just been uploaded at Nicovideo: A newly-encoded video of the KNT opening and closing animations, taken directly from the video tapes. (http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm1633448) Very clear and sharp, even after being uploaded and processed. I hope someday I'll be able to see the entire series at this level of quality.

Just the other day, all KNT episodes were deleted from Nicovideo. :'( A few Japanese fans are saying this might be a sign of an impending DVD release, but they admit that's being overly optimistic.

I just don't understand why is it so hard for Tatsunoko Productions to release the series on dvd. Do they still own the rights to the show?

I really don't know. There have been few (if any) official statements regarding the status of KNT, which has lead to rumors trying to fill in the gaps.
