Who are your favorite video game characters of all time?

Mine:

1. The Master Chief
2. The Arbiter
3. Sonic The Hedgehog
4. Duke Nukem
5. Mario
6. Cloud
7. Dante (Devil May Cry)

My overall favorite used to be Tails, from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Nearly as fast as Sonic, but he could fly and was great with electronics, despite being very young. Unfortunatley, with the newer games, his role in the series keeps getting smaller and smaller.

I like Yui in the New Age Goemon game for PSX. She's a funny, flirt of a character, who moves pretty fast, and can do a tripple-slash similar to Megaman X's Zero.

Then there's Synbios from Shining Force III (Sega Saturn), as another favourite.

That's a tough one - my favourite is probably Sgt Johnson from the Halo series. Best quote -> "Don't make me take off my belt!"
Other favourite characters of mine are: Mario, Link, Samus Aran, Sam Fisher, Master Chief and Kane (Tiberium Sun series).

I like Sam Fisher too, along with Tommy Vercetti, from GTA: Vice City.

Of the characters from the Street Fighter games, my faves are Ryu, Ken, and Guile. I also like Chun-Li, and Cammy as well.

I also like Mitsurugi, Seung-Mina, Taki, and Siegfried, from the old PS1 game Soul Edge.

Ah, Soul Calibur :) How could I forget Sigfried. With him, I could power through the entire game. His voice is Soul Calibur 3 was pretty impressive too. Cassandra would be my seccond favorite.  :-*

I totally agree with you, dude. Sgt. Johnson from the Halo series is another fave of mine. The cracks he comes out with are hilarious.

In no particular order;

1. Klonoa

Klonoa is actually quite a complex character. If you play the first two games (Door to Phantomile and Lunatea's Veil, PS1 and PS2 repsectively), you'll notice that the throughout those games, he goes from being optimistic and curious at the beginning of the first game to being timid and quiet at the end of the second. That's one of the many reasons why I like Klonoa, because unlike many other heroes before and after him, life-changing events actually affect his personality in the long-term...

2. Blaze the Cat (from Sonic the Hedgehog)

Like Klonoa, Blaze's personality seperates her from the stereotype. In the Sonic games, almost all of the characters have a stereotypical personality (Sonic is cocky, Tails is loyal, Shadow is emo etc.). Blaze can be likened to a (successful) mix of Knuckles' and Shadow's personalities with enough of her own traits that make her unique compared to the rest of the cast. That and I think she's incredibly sexy. :-* So sue me.

3. King of Sorrow (from Klonoa)

... Well, everyone else does. Plus, he seems to be one of those stereotypical 'emo' characters which actually 'work'.

I also like Jimmy Patterson, the hero of the games Medal of Honor (PS1), and Medal of Honor: Frontline (PS2). Of course, Snake from the Metal Gear Solid games is among my list of favorites as well. You gotta like the way he can infiltrate such heavilly-guarded enemy positions, and take them all down, no matter what.

I know what you mean. One was released in Japan back in the 90's, but there's never been a US release. I like Tails as well. Another favorite character of mine is Sgt. Cortez, from the PS2 game Timesplitters: Future Perfect.

Call me old-fashioned if you like but Sonic will always reign supreme for me.

I also like Nathan Frost, the hero of Project: Snowblind for the PS2, and Zane Blackwood, aka Agent 5, from the PC game Journeyman Project Turbo.
