To answer the questions: I am using Debian GNU/Linux testing (codename 'etch') version, kernel 2.6.8, Gnome 2.8.3 and Metacity 2.10.2 windows manager. I gave up to use Windows more than 5 years ago, after get tired of reformating HD after another disastrous crash. I never reformated my HD again. Why? It's because Mozilla Foundation (http://www.mozilla.org) put some legal restrictions about usage of its logo (please don't ask me about details), so the Debian (http://www.debian.org) folks decided to release the same browser with another name and logo. Both browsers are exactly the same, except for the red toasted fox versus white frozen weasel.

After the fall of soviet, these planes were old and outdated. Therefore they were sold in massive numbers to civilians for very cheap. Thats probably why you saw it flying flying around.
