Title: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: Methid Man on July 19, 2005, 06:43:50 pm Who else likes this show? Although it may be gross for some, it rocks. Definitely the way a cartoon should be IMO. =]

WHAT ARE TRYING TO DO, KEEL ME!?!?! Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy Post by: Methid Man on July 19, 2005, 09:04:56 pm Well it's a good thing I'm not the only R&S fan here. For the fellow fans here, you can click on this link below to download some R&S episodes. They're in RM format ripped from VHS but they're superb quality even in fullscreen mode. Enjoy.

Ahem... "What rolls downstairs; Alone, or in pairs; Runs over your neighbours dog. What's good for a snack, it fits on your back. It's log log log. It's log! It's log! It's big, it's heavy it's wood! It's log, it's log! It's better than bad; it's good!" Mwahaha. Burkey Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy Post by: Supersonic on July 19, 2005, 11:53:21 pm Well it's a good thing I'm not the only R&S fan here. My only real favorite one was the Cosmonuts episode where they were in the space race. :D Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy Post by: SCerviche on July 20, 2005, 09:39:49 am i like the Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen, man that episode made me laugh so hard....

BRILLIANTLY funny. I love the scenario that a plump, IQ-dead creature that's supposed to be a cat (even if he does not look the part) is friends with a skinny, crabby, psychotic chihuahua dog. I watch these on Nickolodeon Toons and I loved several episodes. Situations that are include Ren's outbursts on Stimpy and just about anyone, Ren usually suffering thanks to Stimpy's involvement or lack of it, and some of Stimpy's scenes. Here's one good scene with Ren when men came to the house to give Stimpy money after he won a poetry contest. Man: Are you Stimpson J. Cat Ren: Oh, you want Stimpy. He's in there (pointing to bedroom) Man: Will you tell him he's won 47 47 million dollars Ren: Right 47, I'll go get him (Suddenly Ren realises and a wild eye take) Ren: 47 MILLION DOLLARS!!! (Jumps on Man) Ren: I'M THE CAAAT!!!!!! Top notch comedy. Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy Post by: Marurun on July 20, 2005, 06:04:46 pm I've watched, I've laughed, but usually I just get grosses out or disturbed by it :P My dad really likes it though, he also liked another show the creators of it made, Ripping Friends.

I love Ripping Friends! Pretty much anything made by Spumco kicks ass. 8) Edit: I just changed the title. You may now post about other Spumco-related cartoons. -- Sam the Methid Man Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: KyoZaber on July 20, 2005, 10:34:53 pm I enjoy some of the Ripping Friends episodes~
My favorite one is the Stinky Butt episode~ ... Mainly because I'm just a big kid~ Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: Marurun on July 21, 2005, 02:11:38 pm I enjoy some of the Ripping Friends episodes~ My favorite one is the Stinky Butt episode~ ... Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: Turbos on July 23, 2005, 01:41:16 am If you guys like Ren & Stimpy, you should go play Go! Go! Hypergrind fpr GCN. It's from Spumco, it's a skateboard game with cartoon characters, and it plays like agressive inline. Very awsome game.
Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: D-Mac on July 24, 2005, 06:29:37 am I didn't really like R & S, as a lot of it's humor was a bit too crude for my tastes.
Though I like quite a few of the Ripping Friends episodes. Gotta love that Man-Man and Boy-Boy episode! :D Hmm, the style of that Go Go Hypergrind game definitely looks really neat, though it's currently pulling a 69% score on GameRankings... Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: ApacheMan2K on July 24, 2005, 05:17:24 pm i'd have to agree with D-Mac about R&S -- way too crude for my tastes, too. on the other hand, there were two episodes of Ripping Friends that i remember fondly -- one with Crag's underpants being possessed, and another with (as Kyo mentioned earlier) Stinky Butt torturing the Ripping Friends to death with his farts :D
Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: Valkyrie on August 02, 2005, 12:59:04 am Ren and Stimpy had the greates superhero in the word though....
POWDER TOAST MAN!! And though it was a little crude, it's what made the show! Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: Turbos on August 02, 2005, 04:30:57 am Hmm, the style of that Go Go Hypergrind game definitely looks really neat, though it's currently pulling a 69% score on GameRankings... Meh, the game sales were a flop. New record in gaming, they only sold copies for 2 weeks before they stopped publishing. You go pick it up over at Gamestop for $10. The soundtrack is really awsome.Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: KageReneko on August 02, 2005, 06:00:24 pm yeah, Ren and Stimpy were very gross but I loved them cause this... I get angry watching the stupid imitations that were released then like Cow and Chicken or Timon and Pumba (A cuter R & S version)
The episode that merked me was when they were wrestling, the part when Ren release the wrestler's boot and bites his... BLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! :O Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: Kitsune on August 02, 2005, 11:39:21 pm ...
"I'm the pitcher, he's the catcher." That was the moment when all the appeal I had for the show was lost. I'd like to know what happened to Spumco's online presence, though. They had a website with tons of original animation - but the domain was stolen and that's the last I heard of them... That was the moment when all the appeal I had for the show was lost. You mean this (http://spumco.thetma.com/movies/ren_and_stimpy/asf/ren_and_stimpy_001_2_320.asf)? [Warning: video may be offensive to some] Okay, maybe Onward and Upward was a bit much (especially the dinner scene), but the second APC episode, Ren Seeks Help, really made up for it. I'd like to know what happened to Spumco's online presence, though. They had a website with tons of original animation - but the domain was stolen and that's the last I heard of them... Yeah, I heard they had some awesome original webtoons. I wonder if I can find some downloads of them off Kazaa... That site probably won't be coming back in a while unfortunately from what I've heard... -- Sam the Methid Man Title: Re: Ren & Stimpy (and other Spumco cartoons) Post by: ApacheMan2K on August 03, 2005, 02:25:59 pm i'd try LimeWire; you'll get no spyware from that one. or, Kazaa Lite.

That's right. I had forgotten that Rocko wasn't Spumco (the concept was just similar). I DID notice that his style was used in Camp Lazlo though. Ironic that he now works for Cartoon Network...
