Title: Polly vs Speedy Sprite Animation... Thingy
Post by: D-Mac on July 28, 2005, 08:24:03 am
I look for random SPC stuff with Google all the time. Figured I'd post this one.

Look at the... The craziness! O_O

Okay, okay. It's not that good. But it's... something.

Lol, that is actually quite amusing...although it's quite dark seeing Speedy get sliced and diced by Polly... but still amusing...  ?:|

Wow, I bet that took a lot of work.  My avatar itself took about 4 solid hours of work of making custom sprites.

Sprite animations! Whee!

It remembers me an old demo program of Commodore Amiga computer, Lemmings vs Rococod (two popular games characters). The demo ends with Robocod shooting Lemming with machine gun, making red mess with the poor chap. Yuck!  :O

Very cool, I love .gif art like that.  Animating with Image Ready is fun, and people have created some very cool stuff.

An SPC fighting game might be a good idea...

But it would be sooo cool! Especially if it were to have dreadful finishers like that one.  :D

Why, what's with the frown, Burkey?
You don't like the idea?

Nice idea for SPC sprite, although not original as gory game sprites go.

I don't like the idea? I'm the one who was MAKING a game!

Obviously, you don't know that I actually came very close to a fighting game for SPC. I had everything set except the fighting sprites. I had the voice actors, I had the finishing moves, I had everything but my sprites.

The SPC fighting game was going to be similar to Marvel vs Capcom type fighting.

Maybe one day when I have the sprites and DEDICATED people to help me, then perhaps I'll get back into it.

Hmph.

Yep... that's a good reason to be upset...
Let that be a lesson to all of you. If you say you're going to do something. Do it.
If something huge comes up and you can't do it... Like the death of a family member, then that's ok.

Deciding you have better things to do and could care less... uh-uh. That's not a good excuse. That's being rude, lazy, and totally snubbing off all the other people who have agreed to help.

Do it? DO IT?! You try animating over 50+ colored pixeled frames for one character! :D  I was the originial spriter, but had to quit because I can't do mech stuff well. :'( Not to mention I had a LOT of work at the time and I don't own my own PC. Yeah, lots of stuff. Just to let you know Burke, if I ever do get my own PC and stuff I can possibly help again ;-)

We'll see, but I'll try and find some better spriters out there, so thanks anyways.

Ok, maybe I was being a little too strict. And not owning your own PC is a major down-fall. I appologise for my rudeness. ^_^

Just as long as you just didn't show up or anything. Making promises then just bailing out on them for no good reason isn't a very nice thing to do.

sprite animation in flash is very simple, i could throw together one in a few mins if i had the sprites and the will to do it heh.

Wow, those are very awesome! I know making sprite animations can be a real pain in the neck. And a fighting game would need A LOT of them. Ah well, the dream of a SPC fighting game is enough for me.  :)

The second sprite looks like Kyo's DF+ strong kick animation. I didn't notice that Speedy was using the Chun-Li pose...

Yeah, that’s right.

I think no one is willing to do a decent sprite sheet of Polly/Guido/Speedy because it’s a lot of work. And unless they aren’t posted on the net they are going to be stolen.

Get real, the only game fans could do would be one of those internet battle games where you level up, and buy stuff. One of those you play in you web browser and don’t have animations on anything. You would only need to get one of these and do lots of modifications

Speedy battle armor/ The battle armor of the only cat who cant rhyme of the trio/ 1000 yen/buy

Know what I’m talking about?

Yeah, I love those old games actually.  Like Lufia, Chrono Trigger, or even Zelda 3

????

Chrono trigger has lot of sprites, I’m talking about one of those games you can play in some forums. Where you chose a character, battle with bots to level up, get money by posting in the forum (Like 20 yen by post or something), then use that money to buy weapons and armor. And of course you can battle with another player by changeling him.No animacions, no sprites.

Just pics for the items, one avatar for you character and text that tells you what you are doing. Is mo like playing one of those really old text adventures with no graphics where you typed everything. The difference is that there are a few graphics, you use your mouse and your web browser.

Oh, I hate those types of games where you only play on the forum XP Yet, I do have a strange fascination with text/book style video games where there's nothing but text and pictures.

But these kind of games are easy to edit, so we could have a SPC one in only a few weeks. Ever played a Dragonlance game?.

Disregard me, my video game knowledge is minimal.  I never heard of what you're talking about.

Don’t worry, my knowledge of the English language is minimal…

To make it easy, is like a text rpg, but you do the fights using a javascript program that’s is like a powered up version of the infamous “street” for irc(That “fighting” game you can play in irc).
