Title: GTA IV... At last!
Post by: Cloud-Boy on April 28, 2008, 07:31:05 pm
In just a matter of hours, GTA IV comes out! Got my reservation all ready to go! :D :D :D :D

I really hope to play most of it while I'm here, because I really don't feel like sharing it much with the boys on the other side of the world.

I won't be getting it this week. I've been planning on getting two new games within the next month. Rock Band is a definite MUST, and I was considering Orange Box. But now after an extensive look at GTA, I'm changing my mind.

I might borrow it from a mate eventually to see what all the fuss is about. Apparently it's been getting a lot of 10/10s.

went to the midnight release at futureshop with my friend. He bought the game and we went back to his place, it was fun and the physics system is sweet, but its not a 10/10 game in my opinion. Theres a little screen pop up and the fps can drop a little bit when there is alot of cars and explosions going off. I know there small things but for a game to get the 10/10 it has to be perfect with no flaws in my mind.

yeah, I got mine last night. It is, by far, way better than San Andreas. And the special Pre-order bonuses they gave me...They were sweet. I can actually see myself playing the game from now till Friday nonstop.
The combat is actually smoother, and it plays like a basic version of GoW or Graw. You know, blind-fire, and back to the wall.

Quoting the OXM (Official Xbox Magazine)

10= A classic. One of those games that every gamer should buy and play, wheterver or not they are a fan of the genre. A few minor issues here or there, but nothing serious and is rarely annoying.

11= Perfect. The Unicorn. Will never happen. Never.

Point is, no game will ever be perfect, no mater how much polish it receives.

I've been a bit skeptical of many of the first reviews. I'm starting to understand these 10/10 scores better. A score of 10 doesn't make a game perfect. It is because it has raised the bar higher. From what I've seen and read GTA 4 is introducing new concepts and mechanics and a special mixture of some old ones. A 10 score, to me, means it's going to be a long time before we see a similar mixture of mechanics in new games becoming the standard. GTA deserves it.

Frankly, I'd rather be a cop than one of the crooks. Plus the series never interested me much so I guess I'll look elsewhere for a sandbox game. Mind you I haven't PLAYED any of the GTA games for...ages...the whole series/concept is a turn off for me and I've never really been a gun person. I just prefer games that have stuff that'll never happen in the real world. Like the Zelda or Mario series.

That and I don't have a PS3 or XBOX360...just a Wii...

First Bold: There is a Multi player mode were you can play as the cops.

Second Bold: Quaker!

First bold reply: ORLY....can I use tanks then?

Second bold reply: Am not, I'm using a computer am I not? And I probably should've worded that part differently, I'm all for gun games and such (Megaman series for the win) but I like my guns....fantasy-ish. But main point is I usually don't like playing as the guys I want behind bars for a really long time.
