Title: The SPC DVD Post by: Kitsune on July 30, 2005, 05:40:17 pm A question about it... is it Region 1?
I just saw one on eBay and it said Region 1 / Region 4. And well, Region 4 is Mexico, so I'm a bit confused... Title: Re: The SPC DVD Post by: Violet on July 30, 2005, 06:29:20 pm This should explain it

I should've clarified that. Title: Re: The SPC DVD Post by: Violet on July 30, 2005, 08:09:39 pm I know about DVD regions. My question was if it was a bootleg because I thought that US-released DVD was Region 1 only. I should've clarified that. That SPC DVD actually appears to be to have some sort of connection to Australia, so it's region 1 & 4 to get both the Australian and North American markets. As far as to how "official" the DVD is, there's a lot of speculation on that, but it's not a "bootleg" copy of another DVD because there is no other English SPC DVD on the market anywhere. If you're thinking about buying it, go ahead, I have one and it's good quality over all, with a few minor faults, but worth the price. But I think all of that has been posted in another thread already. Title: Re: The SPC DVD Post by: Kitsune on July 30, 2005, 08:39:10 pm It's $20... waaaaaaaaaay too expensive for five episodes. Sorry. ^^;;

Title: Re: The SPC DVD Post by: Anonymous on July 31, 2005, 12:40:12 pm The jade SPC dvd is a pirate from the proposed dvd release a long time ago, which were "best of" episodes. so please lets not annoy whomever company it is they have ripped off by talking too much about it.

Neko It's not like that company that didn't release any DVDs is doing us any favors. I'd rather have a "pirate" DVD than nothing. If there were a box set out in English, we'd buy it. I'd pay a lot of money for it. Their loss if they don't want to sell it to me, I'll find my episodes other ways. Title: Re: The SPC DVD Post by: CyberFox on January 10, 2006, 01:21:50 am Bootlegs are mostly "region 0"
I know because i bought one Di.Gi Charat bootleg DVD, and it blows because of the crappy subbing Title: Re: The SPC DVD Post by: Violet on January 10, 2006, 01:49:41 am Bootlegs are mostly "region 0" I know because i bought one Di.Gi Charat bootleg DVD, and it blows because of the crappy subbing Yeah, I got that one too, worst subbing ever. I was new to buying anime DVDs at the time, and hadn't learned to be careful about anything shipping out of China. And yeah, bootlegs don't usually bother with any region codes, because they want to be able to sell them anywhere. Title: Re: The SPC DVD Post by: ApacheMan2K on January 10, 2006, 12:10:42 pm my advice: avoid bidding on or buying anything from China or Hong Kong. all those Hong Kong dealers are obviously some bootlegging operations who have sold hundreds to thousands of fake CDs, DVDs, cartridges, etc, and then took the money and ran away.

I learned that THE HARD WAY... TWICE! 1. Mr. Driller Ace (GBA) [Pirate Copy], Battery within cartidge crapped out after a few weeks and a couple of months 2. Di.Gi Charat Bootleg, The Subbing is craptacular and completely off sync |
