Edoropolis Emporium

Princess Vi is bored so to entertain herself she’s organised a martial arts contest! I wish I could organise a martial arts contest when I’m bored …  ::) First prize is dinner and a show with the Princess herself. Speedy, Polly and Guido all enter. Speedy and Guido are both particularly keen to win the night with Vi. Speedy because he wants to meet her girlfriends, Guido because he’s wants to donate it away for money. Lucille and Bad Bird (who wears the famous bell on his head) are also contestants. The Big Cheese tries to close the game by entering a robot.

I love this episode. Lot’s of gags, lot’s of colourful characters … the only thing I remember I didn’t like when I first saw it was that Polly lost so soon! And to some ugly chiropractor with perverted thumbs.

Other highlights: the Big Cheese mooning the camera in his cheerleading outfit, the Rescue Team in cheerleading outfits, Francine sitting on Bad Bird, Speedy’s “Girls girls GIRLS!” line … and heaps more. Just watch the ep.

The only thing I'd add to your review louie is it contains probably THE best line in all the episodes:

 :bigcheese: "Go away you bimbos, I'm working this side of the street!"

Don't forget one of the few times when Emperior Fred was coherant.
"Is it over?", right after Cheese explodes.  HA, HA!!
And of course, his words to Cheese, 'Shut up!" when Cheese is gloating.

Also (again, sorry louiecat) this ep to me had a bit of Speedy/Polly. When Speedy is getting scared about fighting Bullshot Guido's advice is to run away. (Gee, thanks, Guido!) But Polly kneels down next to him and gives him encouragement.

Also, this ep should derail anyone thinking Speedy is weak when he has the power to stop a charging robot bull by holding his horns WITH HIS BARE HANDS!! Geez!

Yeah, that was definitely one of those "How did they manage to get THAT by the censors?" lines.

I also love it when the Big Cheese gets ... er, aroused.  :bigcheese: "OH! This is so EXCITING!"

And right after that Fred goes temporarily coherant and says 'Shut up!'  :D

Oh I am SOOOO changing my brothers desktop to that.  :D

I haven't laughed harder at any cartoon than at Cheese's "bimbo" line.  And I've seen nearly every episode of Animaniacs, which is a dang funny show as well.

One of my favored episodes, I thought it was funny how General Catton was the only one of the rescue team who seemed to be enjoying himself while cheerleading

oh, and Speedy is a beast

This was a great episode. Funny as hell and the fights were well done. There was some real suspense when Speedy and Lucille faced off. Plus it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, because we never got to see how Speedy's dinner/date with Vi went.  ;-)

Vi ordered the waiter and cook to be sent to Prisoner Island after they got her order wrong.

That's a good start...

After that, I imagine she talked about Bad Bird the whole time while Speedy daydreamed about Lucille. Or maybe Speedy hit on Vi and she chased him off with her polearm.  :P

Speedy, unlike his japanese counterpart, is not interested in Vi.  She in the other hand, sees Speedy just as a nice guy she can order around...

Guido: So how was your date with the princess?

Speedy: How does it look it went?

(Speedy is as naked as he can be in the show, plus a barrel)

Guido: So she made you pay for everything, even when you ran out of money, right?

Speedy: Thank you Captain obvious!

The funniest part is.. I can see that actually happening in the show.
