Title: Character development Post by: Truro on September 19, 2008, 04:53:57 am Character development is basically how a character changes and grows over the course of the story. Be it a movie, book, or tv show.
Now, with SPC it can be hard to spot, since its actually a 'Gag dub', but I notised that in later episodes Guido doesn't fight with Speed as much. As first I thought it was because somewhere in between episodes Lucile started going with Speedy, so there was no need to compete any more. But then I remembered the No Talent Guido episode. Being bitter and jelious through most of the episode, and finally comming to his senses when the Rescue Team needed his help. From then on, he seemed generally more supportive. Title: Re: Character development Post by: formallykat on September 19, 2008, 11:32:52 pm I can kinda see what you're saying ...
Lucille to me has always been Speedy's 'girlfriend', not Guido's. I think Guido just likes to keep Speedy on his toes :) They're always going to compete, that's how they are. They're like brothers. They'll fight and bicker but deep down they love eachother (in a strictly, brotherly kind of way of course - minus the KNT Gender Bender episode where Speedy went a bit fruity for Guido). But yeah, Guido seems to fight less with Speedy as the series goes on. Maybe he was over Lucille? Perhaps he was falling in love with Polly? He did ask her to marry him only two episodes away from the 'Great Comet Caper'. Mind you, that is a biased and very subjective view of things on my behalf =] Title: Re: Character development Post by: Cloud-Boy on September 20, 2008, 02:20:14 am I see what you mean. I did realize that the senseless violence ended, and that the two of them (Guido and Speedy) actually got along better. I actually like the earlier episodes better because the conflict between them kept it interesting, but it is nice how both they actually seemed to have called a cease-fire, though I really doubt it had anything to do with either Polly of Lucille.
