Why leave your golden characters alone, when you can re-create them in a light that'll (according to your marketing group) market towards a new generation of little whipper snappers?

I'm going to wait to see this game, and quite possibly play it.
However, I'm not so sure that young people's lack of Mickey knowledge isn't due to generation differences.

While Disney has been trying with a cartoon series,  as well as straight to DVD releases, it is my opinion that they haven't done anything major with him.
Depending on the script, a major movie in theaters would have been a good idea.

Part of me wants to scream "STOP!!!", while the other part of me wants to see what this new Mickey is about.
I've always enjoyed Mickey's gentle fun, as well as his kind demeanor.

I just hope this doesn't taint the little mouse I've always enjoyed watching.

I don't really see that as a re-design. Looks more old-school to me.

That's just his appearance though. Who knows how they'll change his personality. Keep in mind, though Mickey is mostly friendly he's no push-over. He can be a hardened hero, and a little mischievous in his cartoon ways (think "Warner Bros. and sister"). As long as they don't give him the"edge". (Think Shadow).

The last thing we need is Mickey Mouse brooding over something 'dark and emotional'. Dark is good (I'm a big fan of dark stories)...angst would kill the little guy off!

I could stand a Warner Brothers (characters) approach to Mickey. ^_^

Warren Spector has said that he wants to give Mickey his original personallity, I mean, in the beginning Mickey was violent and manyof his old  cartoons show him fighting against Pete or other enemies... Mickey used to use swords, knives and guns for face his enemies... When Mickey became the image of the Disney company they decided to play safe and turn Mickey into a decent and quiet mouse giving his personallity to Donald and Goofy...

I personally hate the good image that Disney gave to his characters... The cartoons must be good but mischievous, if I want to see zero violent cartoons I'll watch Discovery kids or those cartoons made for the preschool kids... Maybe Disney has noticed how the good image has ruined several cartoons like Mickey, Felix the Cat, Tom and Jerry and more; the Looney Tunes never were tamed at all and Bugs Bunny still being almost the same han 50 years ago...

I think the change would be good,  it isn't a real change, just a return to the roots... Today kids are overprotected; I mean, I watched all kind of violent cartoons when I was a little kid and that never affectd me, maybe cause my parents always were witgh me for teach me to differenciate the fiction of the reality...

I already had posted this in the video game section, I don't know if any of the 2 should be erased...
