Title: Fan comic from the depths of nowhere! Post by: Razgrizblaze1 on December 09, 2009, 05:11:22 am Explained in...
(http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2009/342/9/7/Diving_straight_in_by_RazgrizBlaze.jpg) And, now that you've read my short, unimpressive announcement...time for the nitty gritty. The point is, there are two viable starting points in the script, each entailing a different scenario with different character sets. Unfortunately, due to the nature of these character sets, we (Romero and myself) felt at liberty to let the fan base choose a starting point, rather then sticking you with something...unsavory, before we've proven ourselves. So, here's a brief descriptor of each Arc... Arc 1: Initially starting as satire, this Arc evolved from a blank slate into a semi-serious, tangent story with character driven actions formed out of what was supposed to be shear randomness. Original Character driven, with EE cameos and other goodies littered along the way, this adventure turned into a fun little excursion into story-making and produced a few recurring cast members for future arcs. Because this one is OC driven (filling protagonist and antagonist roles) with the primary SPC only appearing in two cameos. We will ask for more cameos and for permissions regarding the ones already in place...let us know if you're interested. Arc 2: Chronologically occurring after the first arc, this story sees the SPC return to the spotlight in force, with satire and hilarity back along with them...mostly satire. Holding absolutely no ties to the first arc, this makes this story a viable launching point for the comic with SPC at the center of the story over a bunch of poorly designed OCs. Did I mention satire? ;) Can't really say much more without giving it away, so meh... ...and there you have it...the only reason I haven't really started yet...and I don't feel like drawing out two cover pics either for contingency. This also goes well with the fact that finals are coming up and I won't have time to draw anything. So...really, I don't even expect a reply to this but if nobody even clicks the little options at the top, I'm just going to flip a coin and forget I asked. (then shake my head with egotistical embarrassment...) Any questions? Feel free to ask... Title: Re: Fan comic from the depths of nowhere! Post by: Tigriss on December 09, 2009, 09:23:39 am I voted for Arc 2. Give us a story about the SPC first, then if people are still interested, bring out the OCs.

Title: Re: Fan comic from the depths of nowhere! Post by: Mechadon on December 09, 2009, 02:33:35 pm Arc 2 works for me better.
I like the idea of having EE cameos. I'll let you use both Mechadon and Panzer as long as you consult me before hand. Title: Re: Fan comic from the depths of nowhere! Post by: sjonnoh on December 09, 2009, 06:21:00 pm I go along with the comment of tigriss, though you might bring the OC at the very end to make it more interesting
Title: Re: Fan comic from the depths of nowhere! Post by: blind2d on December 09, 2009, 07:25:23 pm I guess 2 would be best... Hey, if you want... could I be in it? You know, like some inanimate object, or something? That would be so cool!
Title: Re: Fan comic from the depths of nowhere! Post by: Razgrizblaze1 on December 14, 2009, 07:49:31 pm Yeah, looks like the winner is all but decided here. I'm still going to leave the poll up until the end of finals, though it'll probably make little difference in the end. Anyway, might as well get a few responses to tickle my overinflated ego... :speedy:
I voted for Arc 2. Give us a story about the SPC first, then if people are still interested, bring out the OCs. Yeah, that was the reason for the poll...who wants to read about crappy fan characters? Certainly not me...98% of the time. Arc 2 works for me better. I like the idea of having EE cameos. I'll let you use both Mechadon and Panzer as long as you consult me before hand. Yes, cameos...it was our only enticement for putting the first Arc...well, first. (lol) Though we have already pre-inserted some cameos, we need to gather permissions for the ones we already have...so we know which ones either need to be altered. Strictly speaking, most of these cameos are meant to be non-canon (to you guys at least) little treats...and we're always looking for more... I guess 2 would be best... Hey, if you want... could I be in it? You know, like some inanimate object, or something? That would be so cool! We can turn you into a little statue, lol. So yeah...I actually didn't expect any replies, so thanks for the gratuitous amount of support you've given to a cheap hack like me. I can only hope that over time, the comic's art direction will go from 'Suck' to 'less suck'... :-\ Project coming soon...(just in time for the 20th anniversary! :-*) Title: Re: Fan comic from the depths of nowhere! Post by: Tigriss on December 15, 2009, 06:11:46 am Yeah, that was the reason for the poll...who wants to read about crappy fan characters? Certainly not me...98% of the time. Not all fan characters are automatically "crappy", but they do become spotlight stealers rather easily. That said, there have been a number of fan characters I've liked, and Moe from COLD wasn't too bad, despite being a mega Polly fanboy (but who isn't?) and having a SUPER SRS motivation for working so many jobs. The best part was when Big Cheese and Cailen poked fun at this. ;) Title: Re: Fan comic from the depths of nowhere! Post by: Razgrizblaze1 on December 18, 2009, 02:03:47 am Alright, I just finished with my last final and thus put an end to my workload. Tomorrow, I will be packing up and heading home for winter break...
Now, the obvious winner by a landslide is the second arc, so I will be starting on the cover this weekend and, hopefully, start pumping out the first few pages throughout the next 2 months. Not all fan characters are automatically "crappy", but they do become spotlight stealers rather easily. The best part was when Big Cheese and Cailen poked fun at this. ;) Haha, we play off a lot of this to our advantage in later arcs. Needless to say...NOBODY is getting off easy... :kaboom: But one thing I can say...BC and Jerry are still the center of comedy... :bigcheese: :jerry: Title: Re: Fan comic from the depths of nowhere! Post by: sjonnoh on December 18, 2009, 06:59:28 am I'm glad they are! spc ain't spc without BC and jerry X3
