Title: SPC Background Music and Cues - Track Titles Post by: ANE on June 29, 2010, 08:35:46 pm Hello again,
Following on from an older thread... I sniffed around the two big publishing sites also one time for SPC music info. I forgot which one (BMI or ASCAP) had the info, but WEA Music Group's publishing arm, Warner-Tamerlane was listed. And from the back of the UK VHS video...: (http://www.zwnbsp.com/spc/SamuraiPizzaCats(EUKV3007)Box.jpg) ...I had a "quick" look to see what Pizza Cat info could be found. You have three musical companies here:
So with these three sites, and a bit of guess work - BGM track titles!: N.B. Titles are [sic] throughout
All are credited to Haim Saban and Shuki Levy except "Cats Land On Their Feet" (Haim Saban/Shuki Levy/Andrew R Muson), and Samurai Pizza Cats (Haim Saban/Shuki Levy/Alain Garcia) ( Guido (?:|) marks a puzzle: this is credited to Hoderov Avner and Sidi Ziv) Now with 3909 titles credited to Shuki Levy, it is possible one or two have been left off the above list. Also, as Mr Levy did the music for "Space Cats" and "Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation", the above list may have some extras which don't belong there. Messrs Saban and Levy have also used aliases in the past (see here (http://www.rangerboard.com/showthread.php?t=136827&page=5), post #82 and 98) The above sites are just directories, so there are no files to download or stuff like that. Also, Warner/Chappel are the Publisher, but Saban Music Group (http://www.saban.com/html/music.html) are still the owners of the tunes (the "label"). Right then, there's something to chew on. Title: Re: SPC Background Music and Cues - Track Titles Post by: felineki on June 29, 2010, 09:18:28 pm Wow, really interesting. Nice research. Now if only they'd release them all on a soundtrack set... :P
Title: Re: SPC Background Music and Cues - Track Titles Post by: Teyandee on June 30, 2010, 12:39:56 am This is interesting. But are there really that much (56 titles in the list) tracks are used?
But even if it is - it is still no match for KNT music tracks quantity. And what about the "Finishing move" (Hissatsu in KNT) BGM? Is it present? Title: Re: SPC Background Music and Cues - Track Titles Post by: Tigriss on June 30, 2010, 10:34:24 am Wait, are these official titles or did you just make them up yourself?? :O If you did, they're hilarious! I think "Hold The Anchovies Ballad" is my favorite, but it's hard to choose! BTW, a couple typos: "Chees Flute" and "Polyester's Bugle"
Agreed 100% that there should be a soundtrack, but that would be even rarer than a full set of official English DVDs at this point. :\ Title: Re: SPC Background Music and Cues - Track Titles Post by: sjonnoh on June 30, 2010, 06:44:29 pm I'm pretty sure there are this much, when I tried to make them out of the episodes I found something like 35 soundtracks the 1st 5 episodes....
Title: Re: SPC Background Music and Cues - Track Titles Post by: ANE on June 30, 2010, 06:56:55 pm Wait, are these official titles or did you just make them up yourself?? :O Oh, they are the real deal... (http://www.zwnbsp.com/spc/NinjaCrowRap.jpg) BTW, a couple typos: "Chees Flute" and "Polyester's Bugle" (http://www.zwnbsp.com/spc/CheesFlute.jpg) ...dodgy spelling and all. I suspect some mistyping or a list has been scanned/OCR'd with the errors added in then. It's then never corrected and gets spread to other databases. ("SLIMMER AND THE REAL GHOSTBUST" is a good non-Pizza Cats example of this :D) This is interesting. But are there really that much (56 titles in the list) tracks are used? I'll take a guess that some ("Ninja Crow Rap") are used only once or twice and some in every episode. "Totally Hidden Pizza Cats" may be the theme you hear when the cats have their Extra-Topping Armour on. And what about the "Finishing move" (Hissatsu in KNT) BGM? Is it present? It could be in the above list, it could be in the other 3000 or so other titles; the list above are just the titles credited to Shuki Levy that on first glance are associated with SPC (Cats, Crows, Pizza, Samurai and so on).Guessing again, I'd say it is in there somewhere. Can anyone with a script from SPC check if it mentions the names of the music tracks used in an episode? I have a feeling they won't but it's worth a shot. Wow, really interesting. Nice research. Now if only they'd release them all on a soundtrack set... :P Thanks! And yes Saban Music Group should With the new Saban Brands company, and them buying back Power Rangers I suppose anything is possible. (And my favourite? "Heavy Metal Pizza Kitty" 8)) Title: Re: SPC Background Music and Cues - Track Titles Post by: sjonnoh on July 01, 2010, 02:14:29 pm if I knew a way to contact them I really would beg them to release those ost.....those soundtracks from spc are the onliest western cartoon soundtracks I like!
