Edoropolis Emporium

Hi there guys, a lot of time ago I noticed that my loved Edoropolis forums don't generate an icon when I create a direct link in my browser, I'm actually using google chrome but this also happens with IE; would be possible to create a nice icon for Edo Forums??

You're right, we should have something.  Maybe just the (http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/Themes/Edo%20Theme/images/icons/profile_sm.gif) unless someone wants to design something better.  (Maybe a contest to design the best icon?)

maybe we should make a small icon from that building where emperor Fred ect are in?

While I prefer Kage's icon choice better, I'm fine with the Pizza Cat symbol as well.

The HTML goes <link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="images/home/**.ico">  It has to be 16x16 or 32x32 pixels.  (Got this info from AlienCat)
So, everyone who wants to make a 32x32 and a 16x16 version and post them here, then we can all vote on them.

I'd go for the "P" logo should nothing else come up.

I want the icon to contain the エドロポリス text and we can add the Nyanki colors.

But I think it should not look like a flag if any country and now it looks like the flag of France.

Frankly I don`t think this one is good: This appears to be a default SMF icon for a profile link and the P had nothing to do with EE.

I am still thinking of UNIQLO-like favicon: http://www.uniqlo.com/favicon.ico but with エドロポリス instead.

The emblem of the Edo Palace would be better but I'm not complaining... I like to have a Pizza Cat icon in my quick launch bar...

Well I'm having my doubts wether the picture is stock SMF Forum. Consider the icon that seems to spell a P, left line in green, all the way from top to bottom, red line on the right from top to about half the logo.

Now look at this picture:

I get the point. The question is: Do you associate this P letter with Nyankii/Samurai Pizza Cats?

Seriously though, why not propose one or more icons yourself (as you did some posts back)? That counts for everyone btw. But maybe D-Mac or supersonic would like to share their thought about candidate icons (or a chosen icon if they already have a good icon ready), since this is "their" forum after all. I'm just doing some cleanup at the moment and consider myself emergency forum admin only, so every bit of regular maintenance I do should be more than expected :P

I suppose when proposing an icon, it'd be best to have this icon finished so it can be linked in the post. It's the only way to be sure what the final result looks like.
But then, who's going to have the final voice in selecting a proper icon? Again, I think it's up to D-Mac and supersonic to either pick themselves or pick someone or some group who will. A poll would be an option.

Maybe a cat bell?  It's round and people could recognize it even at the small size.  3 out of 4 cats prefer cat bells.

I like the Pizza Cat logo; maybe a better version of it...


Off Course!! Any KNT/SPC fan should recognize that logo!! I'm pretty sure that the people that isn't familiar with it won't be interested about having this forium in their bookmarks...

Cat bell sort of like the image in this attachment? It'd be nice if it was a bit more stylized and a bit more shading in this example icon though. Maybe the bell icon in one of the blue buttons on the bottom right can be extracted and used.

I just noticed that favicon of EE now looks like the icon of Russian SPC Fanclub (http://spc.0sites.net) without the backgorund (left and right images correspondently):

Wow, it finally happened... We have a logo... I don't know what to say.

Weird, It appears in Mozilla Firefox, but not in IE8 or IE9, or what ever it is, strange.
Oh well, just goes to show that Firefox is 1000x times better than IE :D
