Title: SPC 20 - Drummin' Up Trouble With A Big Bad Beat Post by: cartoonking10749 on October 05, 2005, 01:24:37 am Episode 20 is one of my personal favs. Because it is packed with gags and firsts.
Firsts: SPC on friendly terms with ninja crows for the 1st time, even dining with them. The pizza parlour destroyed by a bomb. Gags: A battle of tongue twisters (literally). SPC being flattered by their enemy. Rap being seen as a threatening addiction. SPC yawning and get their mouths stuck (Same often happens to me). The numerous quotes in this episode. Here's one set with BB after blown up by a hypnotised Lucille: Lucille: ..Emperor must go, Emperor must go Bad Bird: That chick's the one that's gotta go The robot, a raccon-dog named Walkie-Talkie is among the better villains because of his free-will and flattering, yet coniving nature. The SPC fell for each trick he threw at them. His showdown with BatCat shows more light on the aerial member of the rescue team and is one of the highlights of this episode. Title: Re: SPC 20 - Drummin' Up Trouble With A Big Bad Beat Post by: fuhred on October 23, 2005, 07:01:53 pm ?:| Some wild moral swings and roundabouts in this episode: at Walkie-Talkie's party the English dub has Polly drinking lemonade, not sake, but during Walkie-Talkie's initial wander through Little Tokyo beating his drum, they slipped the following into the script: ....horse hair pie, crack a boner lung.... Of course, this is said so quickly that it is hard to pick up, but it is there! It almost seems like the writer was playing a game of 'let's get one past the censors' :O Did anyone else pick up on this or am I just hearing things?? (the 'polish' secret word during the party is a brilliant gag though!)

If any episode represents the SPC show the best out of it. This is the one. This episodes recieves my highest recomendation for anybody that wants to see SPC in its truest form. And if anybody wants to see the SPC for the first time, this is the episode that they will need to see. And trust me when I say that they won't be disappointed. ;)
Andy (The one likes this episode the most) Title: Re: SPC 20 - Drummin' Up Trouble With A Big Bad Beat Post by: Blackcat on August 31, 2006, 04:26:46 pm This episode kinda makes me sad, is one of Batcat best moments...then he is trashed by the Rude Noise a few episodes later, poor kitty.
Besides that, is a good episode? The funniest part was about the Ninja crows having more money for expend in the holidays than the SPC and that part of firing the writers and crashing in the mountain. If it's still tounge twisters, or what exactly else it could be... (God I hope its not just japanese puns... I hate japanese puns... actually, I hate most puns in general, but since purists love them, it makes them all the worse.)
Title: Re: SPC 20 - Drummin' Up Trouble With A Big Bad Beat Post by: YoshiAngemon on June 13, 2009, 11:43:44 pm I just watched this episode. One thing I noticed is that Walkie-Talkie's act of attempted Forcing-The-Emperor-To-Abdicate-The-Throne seems like something that was once done by Moe Hailstone on that Three Stooges short, "You Nazty Spy." In that one, One of the ministers who made him dictator said he had to start a beer putsch, and marched the Saloonatics over to the palace, and force the king to abdicate. Good thing Lightning Ninja (BatCat) managed to make Walkie-Talkie's tongue explode.
