Now what we have here is great. This anime, whatever version is just great. This lovely forum and all you great fans here can really keep the memories of this show alive

But whats missing from all this? What keeps this all from being complete? Other than an English DVD release?

I can't think of anything more appropriate. The english dub of this show invented the style of humour that Little Kuriboh and Team Four Star have made popular today.

So hows about we bring this whole shebang full circle(though an actual dvd realse would be appriated) and make this a reality


I am happy to make this a reality but embarassingly, i dont exactly know how to make it


But apparantly there are so many of you who are dedicated and passionate about this so i am willing to take pointers in every area.

Rar downloads, importing music sound effects whatever. If any of you want to help out then im all ears and arms. If you can voice act or do some funny scripting then that would be even better.


But keep in mind that  i'm not promousing jack, this is still a pipe dream and it depends on how much support i get in this idea. SO SPC and KNT fans alike who's with me!?

But you're not the first to think of this. Hell, I've had a stern idea of what the very first joke of SPC Abridged should be.

This can't be just an idea. You need to mobilize our tallent. All I can be for now is another "ideas" guy. Maybe provide a voice clip or two.

I might do a little scripting but upload stuff on fileplanet.

And isn't a Samurai Pizza Cats Abridged series kind of redundant? I mean, SPC is practically KNT Abridged. We do have some voice talents among us, though, so if you're lucky, maybe you'll find someone to help.

Picture if you will, a whole medium without logic nor common sense, where there is no fourth wall(apologies to Linkara), where the english voice actors are actually self aware of everything from artist mistakes to obscene plot developments and are exploited for the sake of great justi-i mean great comedic effect and during a time when anthromorphia wasnt AS creepy as it is nowadays you have eneterd "the abridged"

sounds like a plan.

But as I said before, I am adamant on what the very first joke should be. Kind of a "First things first" kind of deal.

You open with the SPC opening.

'Will somebody PLEASE cue that boid"

Just as the boid enters the screen, is when you cue a parody of Duck Hunt. You hear the lightgun flash three times, and on that third flash the boid is hit and falls. The Dog from duck hunt pops up on screen with boid in hand. Genius.

Now, you gotta get the geniuine in game soundbytes of the light gun being fired, the bird being hit and falling, and the dog's little jingle when he lifts up the bird. But no duck hunt music. Just cut all the music when that first gunflash goes off. AND the screen has to strobe black  whenever it does.

You also gotta do a cut-and paste animation of the bird falling.

I'm sure alot of people are familiar with duck hunt, but just in case, here is some reference matterial.

SPC Abridged? Don't know about that. I agree with Tigress - it doesn't really suit the nature of abridging (is that even a word?  ?:|).

Not trying to shoot you down but I felt the script is trying too hard to acknowledge the fact it's an abridged series. Try to work on your grammar as well because, no offence, that was a bit of an eyesore.

This line is brilliant though. Good luck with it.

I would love to lend my voice. But it can't be a regular character. Just some off to the side character.

You all know how my comitment to projects are; you don't want to wait 3 months for me to find/feel the time to record a characters dialogue.

I dunno about all this since.

(A) SPC itself is a completely abridged show to start with and possibly the best attempt at it. So making an abridged version of a already brilliant abridged show....

(B) Shows that get abridged for the internet are generally godawfu,l bad things like YuGiOh, DBZ and stuff like the 80s Street Fighter cartoon, I dont think SPC deserves to be lumped up with that lot at all, its really demeaning to its overall quality and awesomeness, like would you or anyone else ever abridge the art forms that are Animaniacs or Freakzoid, so why even do it to poor ol SPC which is in pretty much the same league?

SPC is pretty much a majestic old beast that needs to die with dignity IMO.

Though after watching the sample you posted I found it to be rather clever, I'm hoping this doesn't devolve into just strings of "furry" jokes and bashing, or dedicating one of the main 3 to becoming the shows "meg" who gets insulted all the time....unless its one of the guys =P

you also need to be passionate about the anime you are making fun of.  Kinnikuman is too hard to find and maintain, Duel Masters will just reclyne to endless YGO referances and bobobobo has already been taken
