Title: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: Mr.NoName on February 14, 2011, 11:12:01 pm So.. I'm taking Harm's advice on making my own thread. After all, I do draw a lot, and it would be interesting to see my progress over the years. So without further ado, I present you my art thread.
Let's kick this off with a Valentine picture: (http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/045/3/4/spc_valentine_by_xx_mr_no_name_xx-d39kq27.jpg) Older SPC fanart: http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg39600#msg39600 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg39816#msg39816 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg40378#msg40378 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg40995#msg40995 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg41577#msg41577 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg41973#msg41973 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg42003#msg42003 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg42208#msg42208 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg42570#msg42570 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg42824#msg42824 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg43318#msg43318 Non-SPC art: http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg40701#msg40701 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg40762#msg40762 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg40857#msg40857 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg41191#msg41191 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg41369#msg41369 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg41395#msg41395 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg41470#msg41470 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg41681#msg41681 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg41943#msg41943 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg42163#msg42163 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg42384#msg42384 (Two pictures with this link) http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg42604#msg42604 (Four pictures with this link) http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg42783#msg42783 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg43080#msg43080 (Two pictures with this link) Collabs: http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg42804#msg42804 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1984.msg42920#msg42920 http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=1352.msg43406#msg43406 --------------------------------- Phew... Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: Mr.NoName on February 16, 2011, 05:55:30 pm I've thought about that, but I don't want to post two copies of every picture on this site.

Top is the oldest and bottom is the newest; it's the same for each group (albeit, I did have to rearrange a bit of the collab group). I'll provide the caption for the scene. >=3 "Link, he come to town. Come to buy, some tasty nachos." Hmm... That felt more evil before I wrote it. Oh well... I'll chalk the lack of evil up to lack of planning. Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: Tigriss on April 04, 2011, 07:39:57 am "Link, he come to town. That song was in my head too. Plus, most of, if not all, the Google images are of them in their battle uniforms, so there's more references of that than when they're in their working uniforms. Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: Mr.NoName on April 14, 2011, 10:49:41 pm Yeah, yeah.. More VG Cats stuff. However, I like the job I did well enough to not not post it.

There was a post prior with various initials that was deleted. With that post gone Noah now appears to be sputtering gibberish. As far as the VG Cats Fanart goes, I like it. It brings me back to a time when Aeris wasn't so full of rage, and Leo wasn't dumber than a shovel. I actually like seeing the characters just sitting and talking peacefully about stuff. It works. ^_^ Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: vonhorz on April 18, 2011, 06:18:33 pm idk i think it may was like that for a few month or so but i think the newer vgc comics are etter again...i guess that change started with that epic christmas special :D

It brings me back to a time when Aeris wasn't so full of rage, and Leo wasn't dumber than a shovel. I miss those days too. Lately it's like Scott took the "angry girl is constantly frustrated and annoyed with stupid guy" cliche and went overboard with it. Done in small doses, it can be amusing, like with Polly and Speedy, but too much and it just becomes boring and predictable. Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: Tigriss on June 16, 2011, 08:12:00 am there should be a site around there that hosted SPC fan art... There used to be one, run by Alien Cat. I guess it might be useful if you wanted to organize the fanart all in one place. Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: sans soul on August 17, 2011, 11:43:28 pm Already commented on devArt, but thought I'd drop another one here. I do like this, and I think that the large amount of whitespace is fine, since that's what you're going for.
My only suggestion is to slightly tweak the white bg to a warmer white instead of the cold standard. It would work well with the warmer tones in Speedy's armor, etc. and make the lighting a tad more believable. Not to mention it would give the large space a more intentional feel than a "i made a larger canvas size than necessary, and never cropped it" sort of feel. (Not saying that's what you did!) But that's how I feel anyway. Good work on a drawing to get you back into the swing of things :7 * Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: Mr.NoName on August 26, 2011, 04:44:59 am My only suggestion is to slightly tweak the white bg to a warmer white instead of the cold standard. (Not saying that's what you did!) But that's how I feel anyway. Good work on a drawing to get you back into the swing of things :7 * Well.. I kind of did, lol. It started out as just a simple sketch that I saved, then I continued it later on, just for fun. Thanks again, and I still need to work on that tablet pen picture... Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: KitlingLD on April 30, 2014, 09:35:51 pm So.. I'm going to dust off this old thread here first. I've been busy over the last couple years at college, learning art, and I have a couple SPC drawings/paintings for you all that I made over the last couple years.

I particularly like the backdrop in the second pic, lots of great texture and detail.

Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: rcom88 on August 07, 2015, 05:00:08 pm I will say that it's nice that over the years, you still had the love for the SPC while you were learning Art (and going to school), which led to some nice paintings.

I will say that it's nice that over the years, you still had the love for the SPC while you were learning Art (and going to school), which led to some nice paintings. Yeah, the reason why it came out so fast was because the picture was sitting on my computer half finished for, like, a month. The only real thing I had to do with it was to color it, essentially. Thanks though! I'll keep working at it. ;) Indeed, I do love those pizza cats. The only thing I can really do to get new content from the series is to create my own.... I also wish there were more active artists around like there were a few years ago.... Raz, Sjonnoh, Felineki, KageReneko, VonOz (when he was still around), and Aster to name a few. I don't see much from any of them, or anyone else for that matter, these days.. which is a little saddening. :-\ But such is life, I suppose. I know you will, and I believe that because you're both passionate about art and the Pizza Cats, which I respect immensely; I know how hard art can be. I do agree with the last part of what you said; it is a little sad to see not as many active people on here; as a fan of SPC, I would love for this place to flourish again, but I understand that life does happen and that people do move on; it's a natural part of life. Indeed art can be a challenge, but it does help to know that there are others like you who still share the same passions that I do, even if it is in something as small as a bunch of felines fighting crime and serving pizza. ;) Indeed it is a natural part of life, and I totally understand how busy life can be, but I am glad, as I've said before, that there are still a few people such as yourself who still come back to this little forum in the vast desert of the internet to discuss and share their interests in this show that's over 20 years old now. Keep fighting the good fight! Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: rcom88 on August 10, 2015, 02:43:25 am You're welcome. Well, one of the reasons I enjoy the show so much (and refuse to give up on it) is because it represents good times; it's because of those "good times" that I look back fondly; I think this show, in all honesty, came at a perfect time. Oh, I shall continue to be around. You fight the good fight too, and best of luck to you on your art. Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: rcom88 on November 28, 2015, 05:54:19 pm Also, this thread is further reminder of what I already felt, and that is: the SPC/KNT fandom is both awesome and dedicated. I mean, you have a show that was made in 1991 (1997 is when I discovered it), yet you had people post fanfiction, come here, and in your case, do nice art in regards to the main characters.
I love this fandom for those reasons. Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: KitlingLD on March 14, 2019, 08:44:00 am It's been a while since I posted anything here, but I made a new piece of art. Romero and I have been re-watching the series recently, which gave me some inspiration to make something. So I figured I'd share it.
The title is "A Well Earned Vacation" (https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/f/710bd7be-5275-4995-95a0-1ec34779cd9f/dd22v1e-6380cb5f-45ec-445c-9df5-5ef49140df32.png?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7InBhdGgiOiJcL2ZcLzcxMGJkN2JlLTUyNzUtNDk5NS05NWEwLTFlYzM0Nzc5Y2Q5ZlwvZGQyMnYxZS02MzgwY2I1Zi00NWVjLTQ0NWMtOWRmNS01ZWY0OTE0MGRmMzIucG5nIn1dXSwiYXVkIjpbInVybjpzZXJ2aWNlOmZpbGUuZG93bmxvYWQiXX0.63ghq4-1hm9Lb1WRRy7f3rjWe2QVGlqEiEquFrV1xR4) Edit: Also, if anyone is curious about the lack of helmets for Guido and Speedy, I debated whether or not to have Guido and Speedy wear their helmets (like they do in episode 41) while wearing the kimonos. However, if this is truly a vacation, I figured it would make more sense for them to not wear the helmets. There are character sheets of them without the helmets and they have different hair cuts than the ones I gave them, but I tried to make it so that it still felt natural (at least as natural as robot hair can be). As for the colors, since Polly's hair was red and one of her defining character designs is that she has all red clothes, I decided to match Guido and Speedy in the same way - blue hair to blue clothes and white hair to white clothes. Regardless I don't know if it matters much anyway. :P Here's the dA page for it: https://www.deviantart.com/kitlingld/art/A-Well-Earned-Vacation-789553058 Title: Re: Mr.NoName's Art Thread Post by: blind2d on March 14, 2019, 12:16:51 pm Ahhh!! Love the tilt as well (is that the right word?). Thanks for the compliment! And yeah, it's been fun rewatching it. Lots of stuff happens in the show that I completely forgot about too. You can use the word tilt, but the technical name is "dutch angle." Usually it's used to make the viewer uneasy, but depending on the context of the shot, it can be used to create a variety of different emotions. Plus sometimes, it just looks good for the composition. :P |
