I think that's because most people remember what the SPC's looked like the most during they're battles. Plus, most of, if not all, the Google images are of them in their battle uniforms, so there's more references of that than when they're in their working uniforms.

As far as the VG Cats Fanart goes, I like it. It brings me back to a time when Aeris wasn't so full of rage, and Leo wasn't dumber than a shovel.
I actually like seeing the characters just sitting and talking peacefully about stuff. It works. ^_^

I miss those days too. Lately it's like Scott took the "angry girl is constantly frustrated and annoyed with stupid guy" cliche and went overboard with it. Done in small doses, it can be amusing, like with Polly and Speedy, but too much and it just becomes boring and predictable.

I met the artist in person; wasn't very talkative. It's hard to believe the artist behind a widely popular comic to be so quiet. VG used to be sooooo damn funny.

Some of you may know that my tablet pen was failing on me. Well, I got my replacement pen a couple days ago. I'm going to make a more "dedicated" picture to that event sometime in the near future.. but yeah... bleh.

Already commented on devArt, but thought I'd drop another one here. I do like this, and I think that the large amount of whitespace is fine, since that's what you're going for.

My only suggestion is to slightly tweak the white bg to a warmer white instead of the cold standard. It would work well with the warmer tones in Speedy's armor, etc. and make the lighting a tad more believable. Not to mention it would give the large space a more intentional feel than a "i made a larger canvas size than necessary, and never cropped it" sort of feel. (Not saying that's what you did!) But that's how I feel anyway. Good work on a drawing to get you back into the swing of things :7

Good to see you back, and nice work on these latest pieces! I particularly like the backdrop in the second pic, lots of great texture and detail.

I love the joints on Polly's on the last one, especially the hand joints!  People screw up Pizza Cat hands a lot, but you made them look more human while also looking like themselves.

I will say that it's nice that over the years, you still had the love for the SPC while you were learning Art (and going to school), which led to some nice paintings.

Yeah, the reason why it came out so fast was because the picture was sitting on my computer half finished for, like, a month. The only real thing I had to do with it was to color it, essentially. Thanks though! I'll keep working at it. ;)

Indeed, I do love those pizza cats. The only thing I can really do to get new content from the series is to create my own.... I also wish there were more active artists around like there were a few years ago.... Raz, Sjonnoh, Felineki, KageReneko, VonOz (when he was still around), and Aster to name a few. I don't see much from any of them, or anyone else for that matter, these days.. which is a little saddening.  :-\ But such is life, I suppose.

I do agree with the last part of what you said; it is a little sad to see not as many active people on here; as a fan of SPC, I would love for this place to flourish again, but I understand that life does happen and that people do move on; it's a natural part of life.

Yeah, it really does look like a lot of fun; looking at the art, and knowing how passionate you are for it, reminds me how I used to love doing art. Lol, then I guess my patience ran thin.

Also, this thread is further reminder of what I already felt, and that is: the SPC/KNT fandom is both awesome and dedicated. I mean, you have a show that was made in 1991 (1997 is when I discovered it), yet you had people post fanfiction, come here, and in your case, do nice art in regards to the main characters.

I love this fandom for those reasons.

It's been a while since I posted anything here, but I made a new piece of art. Romero and I have been re-watching the series recently, which gave me some inspiration to make something. So I figured I'd share it.

Edit: Also, if anyone is curious about the lack of helmets for Guido and Speedy, I debated whether or not to have Guido and Speedy wear their helmets (like they do in episode 41) while wearing the kimonos. However, if this is truly a vacation, I figured it would make more sense for them to not wear the helmets. There are character sheets of them without the helmets and they have different hair cuts than the ones I gave them, but I tried to make it so that it still felt natural (at least as natural as robot hair can be). As for the colors, since Polly's hair was red and one of her defining character designs is that she has all red clothes, I decided to match Guido and Speedy in the same way - blue hair to blue clothes and white hair to white clothes. Regardless I don't know if it matters much anyway. :P

You can use the word tilt, but the technical name is "dutch angle." Usually it's used to make the viewer uneasy, but depending on the context of the shot, it can be used to create a variety of different emotions. Plus sometimes, it just looks good for the composition. :P
