Post by: adam808 on October 21, 2005, 12:05:08 am Good luck fuhred! I know you wanted Polly that other time. Don't get bidsniped.
At least I managed to get a deal on the Pururun (Japanese Polly) Mega Nyanki model kit from Japan. I just need to put it together and paint it. Help! Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: KyoZaber on October 21, 2005, 12:08:58 am Wowzers... $150 and climbing...
Well I can't say I blame them. I wouldn't mind haveing a Polly figure myself. Well, best of luck to the bidders. May the dude who walks away with her take good care of her. Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: Pizzacat on October 21, 2005, 06:59:04 am Damn this just makes me wanna learn how to make garage kits, so I can make my own custom SPC figures of whatever I want then sell spare ones over E-Bay for a fortune.
Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: fuhred on October 21, 2005, 08:03:36 pm YOW!!! This is getting expensive! And still 6 days to go! :O
Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: Violet on October 21, 2005, 11:09:50 pm Go Fuhred! The European packaged toys are much rarer than the Japanese ones. Good luck.

Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: Anonymous on October 23, 2005, 12:26:48 am i'm actually amazed how much this is going for.
I picked my SPC figures up from Kuwait (same packaging as the auction) and got the complete collection for under £100. At least i know if i ever need the money i can sell my figures. but that's likely to never happen. I wonder if the big models, (some of the robots, the catatonic) would be worth a lot too? Neko Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: KyoZaber on October 23, 2005, 03:42:33 am 5 Days left, and it is currently standing at $200 american.
Wowzers... Kinda makes you think what Polly Ester or her KNT counterpart Pururun would say/think. Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: adam808 on October 23, 2005, 12:23:51 pm Well we thought there was no Euro Catatonic. If there really is an English language packaged Nyago, it'd be worth a ton.
Also there are action figures of the enemy robots? Interesting. Did the action figure series go beyond #8? Or are they model kits? I know whatever it is, if it's new Vi will want to catalog it and get pictures. Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: Anonymous on October 23, 2005, 12:53:16 pm really?
oh i'll get them out of the loft. I have several euro models which i've never seen anywhere else before. but they were available in kuwait. neko Title: Re: Bidding War! Maybe it's just me being a cynic because I live in Mexico and there's so much bootleg stuff around that I see piracy everywhere. Title: Re: Bidding War! These toys are too complex to bootleg and sell be able to sell cheap. Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: Puutarou on October 24, 2005, 06:12:56 am Bootlegs or not, I'm very interested in seeing what these models that you've never seen anywhere else are. :-*
(As for the Polly auction, I can't say I'm shocked. NOTHING surprises me anymore when it comes to eBay) Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: Daisensei on October 24, 2005, 10:19:37 am I can't judge the quality of the toy only looking the photo, but it seems to be well made. I don't know about 15 years ago when SPC were aired, but nowadays I find many bootleg toys with fair quality in Brazil (after all, bootleg or not, almost all toys come from China). I have bought many cheap Power Ranger's action figures to my son.
Well, my interest in SPC began just by a pirated NES ROM cartridge, as I said before (http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=74.msg968#msg968 (http://www.edoropolis.org/forums/index.php?topic=74.msg968#msg968)). ::) Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: Anonymous on October 24, 2005, 07:27:20 pm as far as i'm aware they don't look bootleg, and came from a supermarket, not a market stall.
i've seen a few of my other fan friends with the exact same toys which they bought in england in 1994. but you've made me really sceptical and wanting to check their authenticity now lol neko Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: Violet on October 25, 2005, 01:42:15 am I know there are bootleg NES games, but I really doubt anyone would make bootleg toys (at least not in 1994, maybe after seeing what this Polly figure sells for...). You'd have to make molds for each part, cast them, assemble them, make packaging. In the end, it wouldn't be worth the price you'd get. Besides, there are still used and some new unopened toys still turning up in anime shops in Japan and online. I'm sure Tsuneko's toys are legitimate, but I would like to see photos for my SPC Toys page, since I don't have some of these. I know they intended to release the Catatonic and Pizza Shop in Europe, but I've never actually seen them in that packaging.
Title: Re: Bidding War! Post by: fuhred on October 28, 2005, 09:35:30 pm ...gasp... gasp... phew! I WON ALL THREE FIGURES!!!
:polly: :guido: :meowsma: = 234.00 GBP. Now I hope someone offers Speedy for sale.
