Title: MLP: TGC Post by: vonhorz on June 16, 2011, 12:02:19 pm well don´t beat me but i think it fits better in here then in offtopic.however,
A few Bronies and I have been working on a MLP-based TCG for more then a month now.We were working surprisingly fast and so we can probably start first test-games soon. We are desprated finding testers. I thought I should ask here since we have a few TCG-players of all kinds here at EE.We just need som feedback :D oh yeah the recent card count is almost 200 so we progressed quite well for a month though. The game is different to other games but I got to admit that its hard to describe detailed. Our recent rules have around 5 typed pages though there is still missing a part for people who never played TCG´s before. atm you definetly need to be familiar with Yu-gi-oh! and/or Magic. We took Parts from both games. Title: Re: MLP: TGC Post by: Someone who does Something on June 16, 2011, 12:08:35 pm I have played Yu-gi-oh.
Tell me the rules when there finished, I would like to know the rules before anything else. Title: Re: MLP: TGC Post by: Anonymous on June 16, 2011, 02:13:36 pm i also have played many TCG's over the years.
i can assist if needed. Title: Re: MLP: TGC Post by: blind2d on June 16, 2011, 04:18:08 pm I can help!
Title: Re: MLP: TGC Post by: Blackcat on June 16, 2011, 06:32:11 pm I have owned several TGC games cards over the years, the trick is that almost all of them are unbalanced, so you just get the good cards and bomb everyone else, and menawhile you buy many packets of cards looking for the good cards. In this case, you just know what two ponies will be the rare cards, right?
Title: Re: MLP: TGC Post by: vonhorz on June 16, 2011, 09:13:37 pm I guess you wanted to point out the royal twins right? well we have a few suggestions for them
but its quite hard to keep them fair;I think we found a good way to handle it. We decided to avoid over-cards with two simple things. - we kept the legend rule from MTG and modified it that every player can have one and not just one on the field. - we decided to make different versions out of certain cards. I.e. we have a twilight as a hitter(which results from getting stronger as more books you control) and as a magic-supporter. since there is a conflict with the legend rule you have to decide which benefit you prefer. obviously there will be and there are combos that simply crash the balance...thats why we asked for testers. 181 card-suggestions 137 of them confirmed the others need a few changes.you see...we check every cards twice ...probably a third time after the testing-phase. I know that some people may not be interested but ill keep updating anyways: the template is 100% done know...since we couldnt find anyone else i had to do it and it was a pain in the ass since im not good at such things. I still hope it looks....good. http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/8793/celestiaprev.png (http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/8793/celestiaprev.png) this is just the example with random text to see how it would look. except for the picture of celestia its made by me. I See what you did thar....such a stupid joke with rarity and flavor texts....-.- Edit : Von, the image was big & stretchy. I changed the image to a link. Thanks dude! You could try to be more ironic with what the card says. Just blatantly using the word troll is not smart enough.
