Title: WTF Car industry Post by: Romero Anchovy on June 25, 2011, 10:32:47 am meh figured i'd post this here to get some feedback from well..non-gearheads to get a opinion on this, but is it me or are cars now day just becoming one in the same? they are all going for that European look and to be honest it's getting sickening to look at. i mean i'll hand it to makers like Hyundai who have come a long way from the econo boxes they use to make, but dam not everything has to look like a S-class. and the whole 40mpg thing....it's not really true...sorry to say but it's mostly calculated for when your on the highway under ideal conditions with a ideal setup and your probably looking at mid 20's if your a avg. American. now if we where to look back on cars from like the 80's for example they had less computers monitoring everything you did and still managed mid-to high 20's. Cars like the Toyota Corolla honda civic for example. to be honest most of the computers and stuff in cars now a days aren't needed. it's added weight and if something breaks the computer will shut down the whole car so trying to drive it to Jerry's Shop down the street will be impossible and even then "Jerry" will need to be a computer wiz to figure out what error code AHaxor337 even is. anyways i just wanna know if there's anyone else that feels this way or is it just my opinion
Title: Re: WTF Car industry Post by: vonhorz on June 25, 2011, 12:31:53 pm agree in all points. esspecially here its awefully boring when you look around the streets. And yes :they officially changed the name from "car-mechanic" over "car-mechatronic" to "car-electronic-engeneer" and ,according to our principal, we seem to head straight to seperate it into "vehicle-informatics" and "vehicle-engeneering"----but though its just that german thing with overly exact terms.
but yeah...they start to look the same in any term. I start to hate those heavy looking pseudo-luxus cars. Title: Re: WTF Car industry Post by: Mr.NoName on June 25, 2011, 02:29:24 pm I wouldn't know.. Where I live, we get all of the cars that were popular in the States from, like, 6 years ago. :P
