Title: Thundercats 2011
Post by: Razgrizblaze1 on August 01, 2011, 12:19:07 am
Okay, let's face it, the new Thundercats just premiered on Cartoon Network in all of its highly anticipated glory. But, did it stand up to the original, did it surpass it? Did it even live up to the hype!?

Iiiiiit's....too early to tell folks, at least in my opinion. But from what I can tell from the pilot it's going to have top notch animation and an epic soundtrack but the voice acting left a little to be desired. But perhaps that will fade with time or be overshadowed with a hopefully epic storyline. Only the future will grant the cat's eye's glance into the future!

I didn't see this, but the voice acting shouldn't be a long term problem, hopefully.  This is the case with any show, but I'm going to use Pokemon as an example.  Remember how rough Ash sounded in the first several episodes of the show?  Eventually, Veronica Taylor's vocal performance evolved (no pun intended) into the Ash voice we knew and loved until PUSA took over.

I was just amused that Larry Kenney voiced King Claudus (he did the original voice of Lion-O). This imHO is doing it right.

For some reason when I read "thundercats" I was thinking of "swotcats".

Anyways, I just took a peek and I'm so happy to see a "normal" cartoon again, I hope they make more like this kind of cartoons.

Haven't had time to see an episode (blame Boomerang and Hub) but it looks pretty good.

But... But I love old Snarf and his classic lines that close the episodes while the Thundercats laugh, the camera gets away and we can hear THUNDERTHUNDERTHUNDERTHUNDERCATS!! in the background!!

Now Snarfer... I hate him; he is the Scrappy Doo of Thundera...

Awesome reboot to one of my fave animated shows of all time, i've been a fan of the original since i was 4 when it first came out and had the merchandise and enjoyed rewatching it on Toonami when i was 16.

The new one definitely respects the original and does new things to it including Snarf not talking anymore.
