Title: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: KyoZaber on May 06, 2005, 04:56:41 am Staying up late... and being bored can have a bad effect on your mental capacity to tell what's funny...
So... I thought I'd share with you guys my cheap attempts at humor~ (Yep! It's SPC Related! I call it cheap because I'm using screen stills from the show... and these are screen stills that were on the public FTP when we had it.) Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: adam808 on May 09, 2005, 10:50:34 pm Oh yeah those! I think I did those lol. Nero Showtime has a little button that screencaptures at whatever resolution you are using. Those were 1024x768 right? If you can get your hands on that try it out, it's good if you are having trouble finding a good screencapper like I was. I made my avatar image that way. Oh and some were done from RM files by turning off Overlays and using Print Screen. That works too :) (I didn't put the great subtitles there though, awesome!)
Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: KyoZaber on August 02, 2005, 03:10:30 am Oye... they're back... and they might be better... well... the same as usual.
Again... just in case I didn't say it befor hand... these aren't my original captures. (I did however put in all the text.) Many thanks to the folks who got these an put 'em on the public FTP when we had it~ ^_^ And now... without further adew... What I think could be funny. Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: Valkyrie on August 12, 2005, 01:51:00 am What program are you using to rip the pictures of the movie file, because they seem to be better quality than anything I'm using.
Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: adam808 on August 12, 2005, 02:04:38 am I used Nero Showtime to get 1024x768 screencaps :)
It has built-in capture. I made those a while ago, before there were 'remaster' eps. Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: Anonymous on August 13, 2005, 05:35:59 pm i didn't see any of my hq eps being used there adam :P
good laugh though - when i get online on monday i'll show you some of my Princess Vi ones :) neko Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: SCerviche on August 19, 2005, 04:41:26 am (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/scerviche/harharharharhar.jpg)
Owned! Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: Guido64380 on August 19, 2005, 03:19:39 pm Y'know what? This would make a good caption contest of something like that. The rpg/games board is kinda empty.

Hmm... sounds interesting. Would you folks be interested at all in a event like that? Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: Violet on August 20, 2005, 10:53:06 pm Y'know what? Sure, if someone can pick a good image for it. Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: Methid Man on August 21, 2005, 12:13:18 am How 'bout we do this: each week someone posts a screencap and we let everybody make their own captions for it? Whoever makes the best caption for the screencap wins.

Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: Guido64380 on August 21, 2005, 04:33:43 am We could do a turn based thing, where the winner gets to post the next pic. Hmm, do you think good quality fanart would be allowed?

Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: KyoZaber on August 21, 2005, 11:11:57 pm We could do a turn based thing, where the winner gets to post the next pic. Hmm, do you think good quality fanart would be allowed? The turn-based idea would be a good one. However, I would suggest making it so that the winner can not post durring his pic. This way we can get others in on the winning and fun as well. As for the Fanart... Again that is a decision totally up to you guys. However, I personally would want FanArt that fits exactly with an episode. Meaning, something that is implyed going on behind the scenes, however not shown. Just my 2 cents. If you folks think you're ready, then go ahead and let's get it started. I don't have any videos nor software to make screen-captures. So someone else will have to start us out. If you start a new thread, I will float it. Otherwise, if someone could write up a small FAQ with links to either free software, or pay-software, as well as tips, that would be a major aid to this project. ;) Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: Daisensei on August 21, 2005, 11:36:42 pm Just my 2 cents. If you folks think you're ready, then go ahead and let's get it started. Since I'm using Linux, perhaps my tips isn't so useful here. Sorry, Windows users! :( Perhaps it's time to you change your operating system. ;)I don't have any videos nor software to make screen-captures. So someone else will have to start us out. In the Gnome desktop environment, you have in the menu an option which permits to save all of the desktop view in a image file (PNG format). So play an AVI, MPEG, RM, WMV or whatever format episode in the Mplayer prog, and when the desired scene is found, press SPACE to pause the player; then you press the icon of the screen capture program which I already mentioned, and voilá, you have all the desktop image saved. Afterwards, you can edit the image (cropping it, saving in another file format, and so on) with Gimp image editor. EDIT: you can find one example in my avatar, I captured it in the KNT 17 eps. Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: Guido64380 on August 22, 2005, 12:29:53 am some keyboards have a "prt scrn" button that, when pressed along with the ALT key takes a snapshot of your entire screen. After that its all a matter of using an immage editor ( i use paint)

Title: Re: Late-Night Screen Caps~ Post by: TimeCat on September 09, 2005, 02:58:24 pm Just looking at the screenshot (without the words) on the "Speedy prances like..." one makes me laugh. I think that's the craziest looking screenshot I've ever seen. :D If the screenshots plus text continue to be as funny as some of those, I think the contest will be a ton of fun.

I could imagine them saying that... |
