He has been deleting his own stuff, that's true. I  believe that it's even possible to delete a whole thread when it was only started by yourself as well. No worries though: "deleted" only means "can't be seen" ;)

Look, there's all those new policies so that MLP stuff doesn't break out of its thread, but what did they change? Nothing.
You can try to keep the forum's focus, which is a good idea (but I don't exactly agree with the methods used), but you can't change people that way.
SPC's been off the air for 20 years, there are little to none news, it's pretty natural that people are now fans of something else.
Sad? Yes. But I'm not sure if we can blame people for that.
And no one would really want to stay on a forum where people are banned, told to shut up, and get their messages deleted.

Harm was a fic writer, a contributor to the fandom in terms of discussions and some other things, and generally not a jerk.
People liked him, people miss him, as evidenced by this thread.
And then he gets bored, messes around a little and POOF! - he's banned.
Yet a person who's been doing nothing but snark for years, stays.
Do you expect people to stay here after that and pretend nothing happened?

I haven't seen an episode of SPC in about.. 6 years now. Dunno what keeps me coming back to you loveable (for the most part) morons. Maybe it's the overhead lighting or something. Fur, you don't know quite the whole story, there are missing bits and pieces of the puzzle not everyone knows. As for me? Well, course I mess around and make people mad and do things to disrupt and destroy, that's part of the whole fun process, but it crosses the line when I get others to follow and do my bidding while I hide in the shadows. Hacking into PM boxes, spreading rumors behind peoples back in Skype/IIRC and such doesn't go well over with anyone, that's why I never crossed that line.

BUT - keep in your mind. Being an SPC fan does`nt mean he or she watches KNT only. Implementing the "talk about SPC & KNT only or be banned" policy will make the members go away.

That's exactly why the banishment reasons were this vague. Not to obfuscate the obviously rigged decision to ban him just because we all hate him and just wanted to see what'd happen. Exactly because he has friends here, it wasn't in his interest to spill the reasons for all to read. His friends could always ask him directly what he thought were the reasons for his banishment, and then it would have been up to him to say anything about it or not. Isn't that reasonable?
In other words, it was assumed that everyone who cared, would've eventually contacted Harmonex himself.

At the time, I took it upon myself to put the actual ban in place after a period of discussing. That included writing a bit to inform you all about it. Now I'm not an english native and I might have put it the wrong way. The way it was intended is something like this: sometimes a company starts a contest for customers to make up a slogan for their product, and there're several prizes one can win. In the contents conditions, usually something is mentioned about how you can't communicate with the company over the actual winner of the contest. Ehm, maybe this line would've been better, in hindsight: "the decision is final". Just as with the MLP stuff earlier, it could've been handled better. The mods just don't do this stuff every day (and hey, isn't that a good point of the forum? ;))

I wouldn't go as far as calling it hate, but I suppose it was at least not called for in this fragile peace we have currently. However, the pro-ponies were quick to lash back. I see it has been moderated already.
Guys, pro- and con-pony, isn't it sometimes better to just not pay attention to the other "side" and continue with whatever you're doing? Choose your battles wisely, some brawls just aren't worth it.

Oh and one more thing: for all the calls about how open the forum used to be, and should be again, and how all the little rules that crept in are ruining the forum, some of you (on the forum at large, not specifically this thread) are showing me quite the opposite. And I mean in both of the camps. Really, this must end.

The problem is: If you (in general) do not watch MLP then stop posting things like "Oh, those numerous pony topics". (IIRC something like that was postend (now deleted) as TSW.)

We have one MLP topic were we allowed to discuss the show.

That's what really happens. Somehow too much negativity stocks up in people lately - nearly everyone of currently active members seems to have some kind of bias, grudge, despise, or even hate on other members inside them. And the worst thing is that it gets out, and as a result, spawns even more hate, bias, and despise in others. This cycle has to stop. People need to stop making things that purposedly upset other people. As of now, it looks as if most of us became more concerned by people on the forum and our feelings and opinions towards them than the actual topics of discussions. That's really wrong. As Aster said numerous times, the problem is there is not enough respect between the members of our community. I really hope this will change.

I understand that SPC/KNT hasn't been aired in lots of years, the last time I watched the complete series on TV was 1992, I understand other people liking newer shows... But these "Bronies" seem to want to turn this PIZZA CAT forum into a MY LITTLE PONY forum and that is fucking annoying... There is not only the threads (That aren't at least interesting), we also have to bear with signatures, avatars and usernames... Everything related with the fucking ponies; this placedoesn't feel like a Pizza Cat forum anymore  and the sad thing is that I like the MLPFIM series but I hate the damn behaviof of its fans...

It's no requirement to have an SPC avatar to be able to post on topic or relevant stuff. I've never had an SPC avatar, yet I think my posts are generally on topic.

People are free to choose their avatars, within certain limits (good taste is one). That's what all of us have to deal with, on any forum.

It's just another cartoon, incidentally not made in japan, and with different techniques than SPC used to. It is hardly worth fighting about. Again, choose your battles wisely; this isn't worth it, I mean it. For example, someone insults you; is your pride worth a broken teeth? Maybe so. Is it worth you landing in intensive care? I doubt it.

Personally, I believe that massively (it was what... about 10? users) changing avatars, usernames and signatures to those related to an overrated cartoon that appears all over the internet (and it really annoys some people who are not in the fad) on an SPC forum is not exactly a respectful behavior either. That's why I support Kage on this in the first place. I'm not going to rage like him, but I understand why he does. I'm fine with people doing whatever they want to their profiles, really. But they do not imagine how silly and annoying this looks on the outside, given this is a Samurai Pizza Cats forum. I mean... fan devotion is a strong thing, but one should not go overboard. Because to me, this whole fad seems like a stepping stone to turning this forum into something it's not meant to be.

A while back, I watched the first 9 or so episodes of MLP: FIM. I can only say that for the most part, it gave me a "neutral" feeling. Meaning: I never felt like I needed to see the next episode. However I enjoyed any episode enough not to ditch it outright, and the episode where an a-hole dragon is being an a-hole (probably ep 6 or 7 or so), I really liked. Overrated? Maybe so. One of the things that stayed with me is the apparent production values. Although it's clearly a flash cartoon all the way, it all seems to have been made with a lot of care, I just can't deny that. Have to give credit where credit is due.
I don't feel I'm a the right person to judge MLP or its rising on this forum, and I'm sure no-one else asked me to do so as well. However, I feel it's in the eye of the beholder as to what degree some aspects are annoying and what exactly crosses the line; it's probably best I remain as impartial as possible about it. As such, you're as right in your opinion as any hardcore MLP fan in his/hers. And that's exactly the difficulty I think we're facing at the moment. We voice our opinions but they'll never coincide with the other camp's opinions. It's an endless game. 4 MLP fans have decided to remove themselves from the conversation on EE. I'm sure that in the end it'll prove enough to at least get EE back into shape again.

Something Vi mentioned a while back made me conclude the following: our SPC/KNT community actually survived Pokemon, and as evidenced by EE, it survived without too many bruises at the time. If we can survive Pokemon, we'll surely survive MLP, no doubt about it.

The problem is the attitude of the fans of the cartoon... Not really, it's almost scary!! Seeing how the "Bronies" are affected in such way that everything they post need to be constantly referring the series is creepy...

I don’t understand why there are men who are watching a cartoon of My Little Pony, isn’t it supposed to be for girls? Real men watch excellent cartoons like Samurai Pizza Cats (did you think I wasn’t going to say it?), Spiderman 1994, X-Men, Gargoyles or Avatar the Last Airbender. Those series are examples of the best cartoons ever. I don’t find them being broadcasted on TV and IT MAKES ME SICK!!!!

The dislike of some people towards MLP is clear, let's not grow any additional discord and concentrate on SPC or anything else less controversial. For one, I'm interested to know how the impromanga's selection system is working. Better or worse than a fixed list of artists?

Apparently a lot of guys like it too. When it comes right down to it, most traditional gender roles are pretty stupid. You should be able to like whatever you want to without worrying that it's only "for girls" or "for boys".

Anyway, MLP isn't the problem. Member attitude and behavior is the problem. MLP fans are as welcome here as anyone else. It's when people start using the show as a means of trolling or annoying others that it becomes an issue. I agree with everyone who says that we should try to work out our differences and be civil to one another. I guess those who decided they couldn't do that or felt like they were being picked on decided to pack up and leave. It's thanks to this attitude that we have lost the very people who were regarded as the best contributors to EE and the SPC fandom. You are complaining that you cannot tolerate the enjoyment of My Little Ponies on a forum about a children's cartoon from the 90's. Not a single person has ever insisted to me that I not have my "Sonic" avatar, not a single person has ever been bothered by my references to Sonic the Hedgehog.

You can say "They know it agitates me," and that may fly with some of my staff, but it won't fly with me. If I were intending to post a reference to SatAM, and I knew somebody here was bothered by it, why should I let that stop me? That isn't trolling. Were to go out of my way to agitate you, that would be trolling. And people who troll have been and will continue to be banned.

My Little Pony avatars and sigs will continue to be allowed at this forum as long as I am an administrator here. Posters that start flame wars will be reprimanded. Sigs and avatars that are deliberately crafted to annoy or harass other users will continue to be banned. The staff here is competent enough to resolve these issues. I am closing this thread soon. We already settled the MLP discussion. Fans are as welcome here as any, so long as they stick to the appropriate threads and don't go around deliberately trying to annoy other members. If you have a problem with that, you can leave too, and if you do, the fandom will carry on as normal, and that's all there is to it. But if you want to come to your senses, be civil, and try to get along like the rest of us, then you're welcome to stick around. We've had enough members leave over petty issues already and it would be a shame to lose another.
