Title: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: Andy on February 01, 2006, 02:30:03 pm This is self explanatory. I just want to say this out randomly just to give people time to do something else. So, I'll begin by putting this down.
1. TMNT (the original) 2. G.I. Joe (the original) 3. Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers 4. Ducktales 5. Redwall (all three seasons) I know you all thinking =Where's SPC?=. The reason it's not up there because that counts as my top favorite animes. But just to make this forum happy and just for the sake of diginity, I'll post my top 5 favorite animes. 1. DragonBall and DragonBall Z 2. Samurai Pizza Cats 3. The Slayers 4. Pokemon 5. Digimon That's about it. Either you can post just your favorite cartoon shows or your favorite animes or both if you wish. I would like to see what kind of shows everybody likes here that's all. Andy (The Cartoon Nut) Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: BurkeWorld on February 01, 2006, 06:57:41 pm I stopped reading as soon as I saw Digimon and Pokemon.

O_O Burkey Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: Andy on March 01, 2006, 03:43:27 pm I know. That's what I mean. I'm just thought that you said that you only like SPC and that's an animated show. Seeing you posting other animated shows just surprised me. That's all. But, I realize that SPC is the ONLY "anime" show that you like and those others are your favorite American animated shows. It's cool. As long as you shared your favorite. I'm cool.
Andy (The one who likes seeing people posting their favorite animated shows on my thread :) ) Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: Methid Man on March 03, 2006, 06:58:19 pm The word 'anime' really refers to all animation, not just Japanese animation. It's just whenever we say anime, we usually mean Japanese cartoons because it's much easier and quicker to say.
So technically, we could say that Burke likes watching 'anime' too. ;-) -- Sam the Methid Man Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: BurkeWorld on March 03, 2006, 07:15:01 pm The only anime I like is SPC, that's it.

Because I have an avatar of an anime, doesn't mean I'm a fan, so you can just stop assuming things about people you don't know, ok? Ok. I know the history of my all time fave show, don't you worry BC. Cost $1,000,000 per episode, only 13 eps were ever made. Budget problems forced the show to stop production. The comics are in a variety of languages, Tigriss has a very respectable collection of such comics and I had have seen a few of them myself. Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: littlebadwolf on September 27, 2006, 02:06:25 pm I'm not a big fan of Naruto. It never really grew on me.
5. Inspector Gadget 4. Darkstalkers (US) 3. Darkwing Duck 2. Gargoyles 1. Animaniacs I used to freakin' love Inspector Gadget as a kid, and I recently got the DVD and still enjoy it. I even managed to get ahold of the soundtrack (done by Shuki Levy and Haim Saban, who also scored Samurai Pizza Cats), which is actually a little impressive considering how many variations there were on the Gadget theme. The US Darkstalkers is actually very bad, but it's bad in the good way. It's so bad that it's hilarious. Darkwing Duck was, and still is, one of the most intelligently funny cartoons ever on TV, and Gargoyles was likewise intelligent, in a more dramatic way, and was one of the first serialized animated programs that I remember. Animaniacs was likewise consistently funny and even managed to throw in some adult humor, like this quote from "King Yakko:" Incredibly Hot Chancellor Lady: Sire? King Yakko: Not now. (Winks.) Wait 'til later! I can explain that if nobody got it. Obviously, I only included American cartoons in the list and excluded Samurai Pizza Cats by default. Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: NPC on September 27, 2006, 06:45:30 pm Animainiacs! I loved that show! :D
Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: littlebadwolf on September 30, 2006, 09:25:59 pm Yup, it was pretty sweet. It was funny from the title song, where "Bill Clinton plays the sax." I laughed at that so hard I missed the first couple seconds of actual show.
Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: felineki on September 30, 2006, 11:17:01 pm I've never actually seen the US Darkstalkers cartoon (although I have seen a few screen shots of it, such as... Anakaris bowing to a soap commercial on TV? 8O), but I'm a huge fan of the games. I did see a couple episodes of the US Street Fighter cartoon way back when, though.

I think US Darkstalkers was in 3D or live action, so it wasn’t a “cartoon”. And Street fighter American cartoon make eyes bleed, but not as much as the live action movie. 1. The Simpsons (the '90s episodes; the new ones make me cry inside) 2. Digimon 3. Justice League Unlimited 4. Samurai Pizza Cats 5. Tiny Toon Adventures Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: Mechadon on March 02, 2007, 01:25:54 pm My top five: 1. The Simpsons (the '90s episodes; the new ones make me cry inside) 2. Digimon 3. Justice League Unlimited 4. Samurai Pizza Cats 5. Tiny Toon Adventures I totally agree with you on the Simpsons. I hate the new episodes. The last good season of Simpsons was the one with the New York episode. After that, the series goes downhill very quickly. And Digimon also rocks. How could I forget Digimon? I enjoyed both the orignal series and the series with Takato-(mon). I thought the series after that one was stupid, so I never watched it. I enjoyed both the orignal series and the series with Takato-(mon). I thought the series after that one was stupid, so I never watched it. As for the fourth season of Digimon...well, it took a while to get into that. At first the lines are rather bad and the plot is formulaic, but once a few major enemies show up, it starts to get better. Then, about halfway through, the show improves by leaps and bounds, showcasing some of the greatest battles in the history of the series. My favorite seasons, though, were definitely one and three. Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: Helios on March 02, 2007, 07:20:23 pm I mean, what happened to the writers? I haven't enjoyed the Simpsons since the late 90s. From seasons five through nine or so, they were really cooking. Yeah, I just isn't the same anymore. I still watch it though. I personally think it peaked in Season Eight, but I'm probably being biased as my favourite episode (You Only Move Twice) was in it.Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: Mechadon on March 03, 2007, 12:45:45 pm I'll tell you what happend to the writers. 5:Gundam Wing - This was just a spectacularly done Gundam series. The politics and the characters knocked my proverbial socks off. I've heard a lot of people shun this one in favor of 08th MS Team or 0080, but to be honest, both of those anime are pure garbage, IMO. I despised both 08th MS Team and 0080. Both were extremely boring and I just couldn't get into them. 4: Dragon Ball - The original was best, before the franchise became more or less EXCLUSIVELY about long, drawn-out battles, because its name actually had RELEVANCE to the general plot. Most of the story lines had to do with finding the Dragon Balls. I realize that the first two arcs of DBZ involved that too, but they just DO NOT COMPARE. Not so say I hated DBZ...well, except the Buu Saga. That was just STUPID. 3:Rurouni Kenshin - If you don't know about this series, go find it. NOW. This is easily the best and most believable anime I've seen in my life, and characters in it were based on REAL historical Japanese characters. Anyway, it's DARN good. It follows the tale of Kenshin Himura, the man once known as Hitokiri Battousai, the manslayer, who is now trying to atone for his murderous past by resolving to never kill again. I can't recommend watching this enough, but I feel I must warn of the rather large quantities of bloodshed in the uncut version. 2:Yu Yu Hakusho - For some reason, this show really got me. Perhaps it was the characters. I felt more attached to Yusuke alone than the ENTIRE cast of DBZ(Most of which I hated.). Perhaps it was the absolutely fantastic sondtrack. Don't think it's got a good soundtrack? Go watch Episode 93. Specifically, listen to the music that's playing as Yusuke beats eight tons of fecal matter out of Sensui. The music just fits the mood at EVERY point it plays. Perhaps it's because the good guys prove they can kick serious butt without having to LOOK overly-muscled, which is more than can be said for DBZ(For proof of that, check out Goku at any level of SSJ. NO MAN SHOULD HAVE THAT KIND OF MUSCLE.). Whichever way you slice it, IMO, Yu Yu Hakusho is an INSTANT classic. And now...here comes number 1. *DRUMROLL'D* 1: Danny Phantom - Surprised that a Western cartoon showed up in a list made SOLELY(To this point, anyway) of anime? Don't be. Danny Phantom has blown me away from the very first episode I've seen. Like I said in an earlier topic I posted in, even a show this awesome has its downsides, but thankfully they were stand-alones and had nothing to do with the overall plot(Which is just awesome, IMO.), but anyway...why is it number one? Aside from Aragon and Dani Phantom, I have yet to see any characters I hate. The villain(Vlad Masters/Plasmius) is just awesome in the way he ALWAYS has things planned in advance(Making Danny really have to use his head to outwit him most of the time.). Plus, Jazz(Danny's older sister.) has been my cartoon crush from the moment I laid eyes on her, and she's easily my all-time favorite animated female. The plots are great, each following the same basic formula(Which Danny graciously reveals in Episode 31. :P), but making each episode original enough to the point where it doesn't get old. Aside from the opening theme(Which has a rap-like sound to it that just doesn't flow all too well IMO.), the music is awesome. Great, great soundtrack that needs to be put on a CD. Sadly, it ended midway through its third season, due to Nickelodeon's decision to cancel it from out of the blue, which has sparked an inner fury toward Nickelodeon within me since hearing the announcement. Overall, this is, well, barely topped by the reason we're all here, Samurai Pizza Cats/Kyatto Ninden Teyandee. This is the best cartoon to ever come from the US of A. Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: ouka on August 06, 2007, 01:14:33 pm shows are bad

Is it really that good! Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: Alistair Erie on August 06, 2007, 02:39:29 pm Most of the people that I know HATE Bobobo-bo bo-bobo, but I think its pretty funny.
I thought that the narrator acted kinda like the one in SPC. Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: Kits'Okami (fr. Dragonfox) on August 06, 2007, 04:17:14 pm Okay. So what's the big deal about this Bobobo-bo-booo-bo-bo-bo-bobo-booooo-boob-bob-bo-billy-bo-bob-bay-bo-bo show that I keep hearing about? Is it really that good! No, not really. Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: Yattarou with a 'fro on August 07, 2007, 11:45:50 am I never saw the big deal of it either. Usually around that time I'd use Dish network's DVR to watch episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist or Danny Phantom that I'd recorded.

5: X-Men (the one from the early 90s of course) 4: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the one from the 80s) 3: Transformers (the 80s version) 2: David the Gnome (because it isn't often that you get an educational show where the main character dies at the end of the series; and it was done so well that it ranks as one of the greatest cartoon moments to me) 1: SatAM, as in the Saturday Morning Sonic cartoon (do you have to ask why?) Title: Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows Post by: Blackcat on August 21, 2009, 08:26:14 am I think I saw David the Gnome or its sequel years ago... unfortunatelly, I was already too old for it...

Invader Zim: I love the show, but the only reason why it's not higher is the ever annoying fanbase. It's a shame it only lasted one season though (not counting the Xmas special and DVD/Nicktoons episodes)
4. My little Pony Friendship is magic: Of course... would be higher but I don't want to risk getting murdered or getting diagnosed with a medical disorder 3. Kaiketsu Zorori: I love it's funny Japanese humor and culture along with the adventurous tone, even if there are many gross fart jokes... 2. Samurai Pizza cats: Obviously 1. Rugrats: Mostly because I'm really nostalgic for this show, it was my favorite Nicktoon when I was little and it still holds up to this day. I don't care about the argument of "Dill/Kimmie ruined the Rugrats", I like all of the episodes regardless of the added characters. As for All Grown up, I thought it was decent.
