They were right on the first count, but so horrible wrong on the second. I was there fore a while, another forum I go to had made a big deal about going and getting the neat little avs for elsewhere... I will not go back... Forums should reward posters for making quality posts, not just post post post... The best way to achieve this IMO is to use an awards system (like best post of the week or best quote of the week). TMA's message board is the only place I know that does this (well, at least they used to...)
Unfortunately, because Gaia is so huge, I just don't see this ever happening. Maybe it could happen in the guilds, but there's no way you can have one guy look at every single post in the main forums and judge who's made the best one because quite frankly there's so many of them... What really shocks me is that the admins actually archive everything that's posted in Gaia...
