Valentine's Day SUCKS!  ;)

You said it. I use to like Valetine's Day. Back at grade school, it is one of my favorite holidays because "everybody" gets candy from everybody. Icluding me. But then, middle school and it was an all boys school so that time doesn't count. Then, high school came up and NO Valentines or any candy whatsoever.  :'( I did however gave one to a girl I had a crush on and she gave me a hug for it. But, nobody gave me one. And it took her two years before she gave me one and that's it. And she had a boyfriend at the time. Nice. I hate sympathies. Since then, I hate Valentine's Day. I never get anything out of it. Only my parents gave me candy. It's nice, but it's not good enough for me.  :( 

Well, to everyone else who hasn't had a bad experience with Valentine's day. Have a happy one and make a great one with your lover, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, imaginary, whatever. Happy Valentine's Day everybody.

i'm better off waiting for a significant other, fair and square. i feel that i should wait for the right girl, not scare her away.

i used to be more negative about Valentine's Day, until a very good RL friend of mine told me what it really is about. it's not just boyfriend or girlfriend celebration, but it's also about celebrating the love of one's family.

Valentine's Day is just really a normal day to me, but good luck to all lovers on Valentine's day.
As for all those less fortunate of love, welcome to my world. :(
I do like being single, but not being availiable as a choice for love oftens drags me down. :(

This is depressing.  Please kill this poor thread and put it out of it's misery.

Er ... felt like I should say happy Valentine's day (or should I say 'happy corporate pink day'), but there's not much happiness here! Oh well. I didn't get anything either, but I had a mean Indian meal with my mates. Romantic, lol  :-* Make the most of it people!

Well, that is true in some sense. I did received a hug from a girl who I gave a Valentine's in high school and it was a good feeling. But that was it. No kiss and anything. We never even went out. Because I was too chicken to even ask her out. I always have bad luck when it comes to women.

But, you are right. It doesn't matter about BF/GFs. When you share something good to a person you liked, it's a good feeling.

But, I don't think that I'll ever recieve a better feeling for Valentine's since I never had a girlfriend and I only gave a secret Valentine's one time and it took her two years to finally give me one back. I guess that's sympathy for ya. So, in a matter of speaking. The only way that I'll ever feel a true feeling of Valentine's is when I finally have a girlfriend. That's why I no longer send any Valentine's for anybody because nobody sends one for me. Why should I send one to anyone when nobody cares?

So, I'm still waiting for anyone to give me. But, alas no one has today. Maybe next year. I just wish I would get one besides the usual from my parents. You know? Just once I would like to recieve a secret Valentine's from somebody or even an obvious one from somebody I know for just friendship. I don't care. I just want to recieve one. Not from sympathy or anything. Just a Valentine from somebody who cares. Y'all understand what I mean. Is that too much to ask?

Well, I would like apologize for making this day seem like a depressing sight. I'm just writing on how I feel about this. Don't let my bad experiences put a sad day on all of yours. To anybody who had a great Valentine's, I envy you and I'm glad that you had this great experience. I just wish I have one. Have a happy one.

It didn't bother me. I didn't even remember that was today until someone reminded me. I had a good time with a friend, and that was enough.

Sympathy Valentine's are one of the worst, that only through some major extent of sadness can compel someone to take 5 seconds out of their day to make a card.

Pity Valentine's are much like Sympathy ones, but usually have some sort of more emotional tie-in, like a pity date or something.

Neither of which have I received, which brings me to this

Was a quiet day for me for the most part, though I spent some time reflecting on my relationship with the people who mean the most to me in life; my family.
Sadly, the mother of a student at my school passed away on the 13th. Though I've never met this student before, I've had him and the rest of his family in my thoughts as well lately.

As Meth and Pache said (hehehe. okay if I call ya that?) Valentine's Day doesn't need to be all mushy gushy BF/GF focused. For me, it's a day where I'm more motivated to try and strengthen bonds with those whom I know and love, be they family or friend, or even someone I've had differences with in the past. 
I feel these are goals we should strive for on a daily basis, as you never can be sure when someone you know will leave this world.

We don't celebrate Valentines' day in Brazil. Perhaps the day that most resembles Valentine's day here is "Dia dos Namorados" (Day of the Lovers), at Jun, 12th. One more day to let the wheels of capitalism still turning.
We don't need a special day for love; everyday we need to be loved. And remember, we all love SPC/KNT.  :-*
