Post by: KageReneko on March 22, 2006, 03:30:27 pm

Diadems?

Do you mean, "diamonds?"

    * A diadem is a type of crown.
    * Diadem is the brightest star in the constellation Coma Berenices.
    * A diadem may be one of several tropical butterflies in the genus Hypolimnas.

Hmm, a crown, a bright star, or a butterfly.

I must be WAY out of it, cause I don't see how this has anything to do with SPC.

Gah.

EDIT: Unless he's talkin' about their helmet crystals, then I dunno.

Are you talking about the shapes on their helmets? Speedy having a circle, Polly a triangle, and Guido a diamond?

Yeah. Most likely the helmet button things. To be honest, I think they're just little additions to the design, though there's a good chance there'll be an explanation in the original manga and/or anime.

EDIT: Note that whenever Speedy defeats a giant robot using the Cat's Eye Slash, his diadem flashes and shows a symbol... IIRC, a cat paw.

Funny, cause I thought about this a while back. I thought maybe the meaning of each shape had something to do with their personalities/powers. A circle's 'infinity', a triangle symbolises the Trinity, and a diamond is some mystical, mathematical thing. Can't remember. Anyways, I concluded that the shapes were perhaps just ... shapes?  :P

Don't forget flashlights and energy guages too!

"... And NOBODY has a flashlight?"!

Look on your helmet, Polly.

Atta girl.

It works as a low bettery indicator too. Speedy's blinked (and I think dinged too) in "Let the cellar beware" because his battery was low or something

Speedy's also blinked in "Emperor Fred Does Hard Time" while carrying Emperor Fred.

Guido once used it as a some kind of X-ray spy-glass (SPC10 - Hot And Cold Kitties).

Sorry, you know that ewnglish isn't my first language so diadems was the onlt word I could use, anmyway I'm happy yopu understand me  ;)

Anyway. off course I know all the features that their diadems have (really useful)... I just wondered if their shapes have any meaning like this

A circle's 'infinity', a triangle symbolises the Trinity, and a diamond is some mystical, mathematical thing.

The rescue Team also have different designs in their helmets... or may be just are designs...

Sorry, I've been playing Silent Hill so I've been looking hidden meanings in everything...

She wouldn't want to use her helmet light whilst their energy was already being drained by the Sun Blocker robot.  ;]

Pssh, she's tough, she can like.. bench press a giant ice cream sundae in each hand, yet can't turn on her helmet light.

What a world we live in.

Okay, this explains what I was trying to say in proper english ::) They're quotes from the net:

The Circle (aka :speedy:): "Simplest shape of all, and manifestation of the One ... It is the first expression of Universe; a horizon, a boundary between Self and Other."

"The Circle is a picture of the Sun and was the symbol of the Infinite One. The circle having no beginning and no ending also symbolized:--everlasting, without end and infinity."

--- Makes sense Speedy's number 1, as he's the leader.

The Triangle (aka :polly:): "A triangle is a statement about relationship and balance ... the ancient mathematical philosophers referred to the Triad as prudence, wisdom, piety, friendship, peace, harmony, unanimity, and marriage.  We see this balanced path between extremes in periodic phenomena such as a swinging pendulum and a heartbeat."

"The Triangle represents the active principle and is often used as a symbol of fire. It's energy is dynamic and it creates change, moves forcibly and with power."

--- A triangle is also Three, and a triangle pointing down (which Polly has) represents inner development ... and also the element of water. But I think of Polly as more like fire? ?:| Then again, apex down triangle symbolises woman/feminine/creation.

The Pentagon/Pentagram and the Golden Proportion (aka :guido:): "The four terms of the square are enough to account for the idea of matter, or substance. But when we get to Five we introduce the concept of Spirit, or governing intelligence; or in other words Life. Five is seen as the union of Two (female) and Three (male). Thus the five-sided pentagon and in particular the pentagram star within it symbolises life and regeneration."

"The number Five has always been regarded as mystical and magical, yet essentially 'human'. We have five fingers/toes on each limb extremity. We commonly note five senses - sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste. Five were the virtues of the medieval knight - generosity, courtesy, chastity, chivalry and piety as symbolised in the pentagram device of Sir Gawain."

--- Guido's definitely a chivalrous/knightly kinda guy. Chastity? Don't think he'd like that some how ... :D.

Hmmm ... maybe there is something in this. I also noticed a pattern: Speedy, Polly and Guido seem to all be represented by odd numbers - each a digit apart = 1, 3 and 5

Any other thoughts? Does this help answer the question? :P If you wanted to know more look up sacred geometry or numerology. The definitions are endless! Brain freeze is likely.

If only the KNT masks had actual jewel-things in them instead of it being shaped in the plastic.
If you try to wear one it only fits on part of your face, making you look like you have a weird version of a sentai mask on. Hehe..
Yeah, I tried it, so sue me. Pizarenjaa!
