Title: 3 Favourite Pixar Films Post by: Mechadon on March 30, 2009, 11:13:52 am Just as the topic title says, what are your 3 top Pixar films and why?
1. The Incredibles. Incredibles isn't just a good animated feature, its a good movie, period. There are so many family movies where the parents are secondary characters. I like this film because it is about a couple trying to raise a family. It touches on some pretty mature themes such as trust in a relationship. My favourite moment in the entire movie is when Edna asks "Do you know where he is?" and Elastigirl answers "Yes." But then Edna emphasizes, "Do you KNOW where he is." I love this movie for making that distinction. There's knowing from someone you trust who tells you, and then there's knowing for yourself. The mother of course is my favourite character, the story is just as much hers as it is Mr. Incredible's. 2. Ratatouille This movie is a monument for the creativity and devotion that an animation team can have for their work. Animation is often described in terms of an escape from reality. I argue the opposite; animation and cartooning are all about reality. A cartoonist must understand more about reality than the average person in order to exaggerate or emphasize it with their art. Brad Bird's team did an extensive amount of research on the Culinary Arts. This movie is all about passion (hence being set in Paris), mostly passion for what you do. With this film, the artist used there own passion to describe the passion of another profession with mutual respect. 3. Wall-E Sigourney "F*ckn" Weaver. 1) Toy Story. The first... the best... well, not really, but whatever. 2) The Incredibles. Amazingness abounds here. 3) Monster's Inc. Very cool concept and character designs. Honorable mention: Red's Dream. Best unicycle cartoon in the history thereof. Title: Re: 3 Favourite Pixar Films Post by: Helios on April 01, 2009, 10:50:55 pm When I looked it up on Wiki, I was really surprised that they've only made nine theatrical films. I could have sworn they'd made more, but that justs shows us how popular the CGI genre has become.
1) The Incredibles 2) Monsters, Inc. 3) For The Birds (short film) Am I the only person who saw WALL-E and didn't like it? Title: Re: 3 Favourite Pixar Films Post by: Gabya on April 02, 2009, 05:47:36 am 1: Toystory

2. Wall-E (exactly, Ripley-- ehh Sigourney is teh bomb ;)) 3. The Incredibles (very likable superheroes spoof-- mostly I don't care about the 'real' superhero stuff) EDIT: oh and almost forgot: I really liked Megamind; so much so that it'd be nr. 1 if this thread allowed non-Pixar stuff ;) Title: Re: 3 Favourite Pixar Films Post by: KageReneko on June 25, 2011, 12:50:14 pm The Toy Story trilogy must be out of contest... Their victory is a given

Toy Story Finding Nemo The Incredibles Pixar: Toys Tory 3 Top Five 3D animated: Toys Tory 3 Lol. Title: Re: 3 Favourite Pixar Films Post by: Mechadon on June 25, 2011, 04:04:03 pm Toys Tory is an inside joke. If you say Toys Tory, it's not really different from saying Toy Story. It's kinda funny how the joke works. The people who are in on it try to steer a conversation to be about Toy Story. Then proceed to say Toys Tory, seeing how far they can get with it without people who aren't in on it noticing the difference. But if you are in on it, you can hear the difference, which leaves half the people grinning and the other half wondering what everyone is so happy about.

Title: Re: 3 Favourite Pixar Films Post by: runningfromgodot on July 03, 2011, 02:15:29 am No love for Up? I'm surprised.
Up, Incredibles, Toy Story 3. From what I've read, Cars 2 isn't going to top many peoples' lists. Title: Re: 3 Favourite Pixar Films Post by: rcom88 on November 09, 2012, 04:15:20 am In no particular order
Toy Story--I was a kid when I watched this, and it just had that kind of connection with me. I even had a few Toy Story action figures. The Incredibles--I'm a big fan of the whole superhero thing so this movie had that kind of appeal to me. And it wasn't just that, it was also a really good movie. Toy Story 3--Such a great movie and such a great end to the trilogy. Andy is a grown adult in this movie. And when I watched it, I was an adult too. He was moving on with his life, and it was sad in a way. But once again, I had a connection to the movie, and that's why it's on here. 2-Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall-eeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Watched it about 2 billion times. 3- Toy Story (the first one) - Idk. They're all awesome movies. I think maybe the first Toy Story can fit here because I've grown up with it, but it is isn't better than Finding Nemo or Monsters Inc. or any other. |
