1  Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: OFFICIAL SPC and KNT Boxsets to be released by Discotek Media! on: December 11, 2013, 02:12:21 am
I haven't finished watching the series on DVD yet, but it is everything I could have hoped for.  It is so nice to physically own this show.  I'm in heaven.

My box set came today.  Later, taters.  Time for me to watch this show in the best quality I've seen it since it aired on TV.
3  Samurai Pizza Cats / Fan Works / The Pizza Cats chapter of my fanfic. on: August 12, 2013, 12:43:19 am
A while back, I started writing a fanfic where the Warner siblings found a giant plothole, letting them travel wherever they please.  It basically became a bunch of crossovers/parodies.  Yes, one of those chapters involved our beloved Pizza Cats.

Hey there, guys!  I know it's been a while, but I'm thinking of returning, and I am psyched about our favorite cartoon finally getting a legit DVD release! $40, $80, I'll pay whatever it takes to get that set in my possession!
5  General Discussion / Anime & Cartoons / Re: My Little Pony Friendship is Magic on: November 25, 2011, 02:41:41 pm
I was skeptical at first.  I saw pony pictures being posted on most of the forums I frequent, and I thought the internet was just jumping onto another dopey pop culture thing (memes and all that good stuff).  I read into the show some more, specifically the parts where Lauren Faust herself said if she was doing her job, people might be surprised.  Well, she was right.  This is a cartoon that reminds me of the stuff I grew up with, with a dash (pun intended) of classic Disney movies (the higher quality musical numbers like "At the Gala").  I like how they pace things (i.e., not having a song in every single episode just for the sake of having a song, like other kids' shows might do).  Yes, Lauren Faust seems to have graduated from the Walt Disney school of entertainment.  If you don't get that reference, go and look up some of his best quotes.

It's been about 3 years now...I need a new list.

Ah yes, one of the "launch titles" for the former Fox Box.  I loved this show, and I really can't explain why.  I will say that it was a creative concept somewhat similar to Pokemon.
8  General Discussion / Anime & Cartoons / Re: Thundercats 2011 on: August 01, 2011, 12:46:04 pm
Okay, let's face it, the new Thundercats just premiered on Cartoon Network in all of its highly anticipated glory. But, did it stand up to the original, did it surpass it? Did it even live up to the hype!?

Iiiiiit's....too early to tell folks, at least in my opinion. But from what I can tell from the pilot it's going to have top notch animation and an epic soundtrack but the voice acting left a little to be desired. But perhaps that will fade with time or be overshadowed with a hopefully epic storyline. Only the future will grant the cat's eye's glance into the future!

I didn't see this, but the voice acting shouldn't be a long term problem, hopefully.  This is the case with any show, but I'm going to use Pokemon as an example.  Remember how rough Ash sounded in the first several episodes of the show?  Eventually, Veronica Taylor's vocal performance evolved (no pun intended) into the Ash voice we knew and loved until PUSA took over.

Speedy: "Geez, put that thing away!  All I did was threaten to play a Rick Astley song!  Talk about overreacting!"
10  General Discussion / Anime & Cartoons / Sgt. Frog (original title: Keroro Gunsou) on: July 29, 2011, 01:41:58 am
"Kero kero kero kero!"

This show is pretty funny.  For those who haven't seen it, it's kind of like "Pinky and the Brain," but with frogs.  Human characters feature quite heavily in the show as well.  It also contains a lot of pop culture references.  In a manner similar to SPC, the jokes have mostly been re-written as the aforementioned pop culture references, etc. in order to make sense/appeal more to an American audience.  However, this show stays mostly true to the original script.  I could go on for an entire page about characters and such, but I won't bore you with the details.  I encourage everyone to give this show a chance.  All currently dubbed episodes are available to watch (legally) on Funimation's website and Hulu.

Oh, the ponies are here, too?  Yikes...you leave for awhile, you miss a lot.

I am on and off obsessed with this show.  Right now I'm getting into it again.  I have the theme song on my iPod.

I'll put up an actual list later, but I can tell you that Gurren Lagann has entered my list until the end of time.

REO Speedwagon.  I'm really, really into this band right now.
16  General Discussion / Anime & Cartoons / Re: what happened to the cartoons? on: October 12, 2009, 05:43:24 pm
I know what you mean.  We need more cartoons that bridge the gap.  I think we're back to where most people think all cartoons are for kids.  We need a new, good primetime cartoon show that isn't the Simpsons or Family Guy.  I'm not just talking comedy, I'm talking about a show that can tell a story.
17  General Discussion / Tech & Video Gaming / Re: Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom (SPC/KNT Characters Could Possibly Appear?!!??!?!?!?!) on: October 12, 2009, 05:38:46 pm
I still think an arcade style beat-em-up would work for the cats.  Either that, or a fighting game in the vein of DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

I'm not entirely familiar with Tatsunoko other than SPC, Astro Boy and Speed Racer.  What other notable characters do they have at their disposal?
19  Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: Songs that suit the characters on: July 02, 2009, 12:51:07 am
Bad Bird: Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson.  That or Bad.
