Too bad the tiny size has some of us getting headaches. Man, the screen is soooo TINY, parents are actually afraid to buy it, fearing the small size could hurt childrens eyes.
So far we had NO presells for it, and no reatail sales at all (which is understandable for the first 2 hours of a surprise release).

So far, it still is here, it's just some provincial government nut jobs that want to pull it off. It's normally our store's policy as we get complaints from parents of children who get a hold of it by 'deliquent' employees behind the counter. But despite what the govenrment wants us to do... They'll still let us sell R rated movies to anyone that wants them. Uggg... they want The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl 3-D playing on the tv in front of me... SOMEONE KILL ME NOW!!! I can't take it anymore

If you also read my GTA topic I just put up, then you'd be aware of the packages I've been getting today at work. One other such package (aside from a few more NGC releases) was an interesting box marked for immediate shelf release with hardware in it (usually hardware and some hit software have a street release date, making us hold it for non sale untill the date). To my amazement, I was treated to what look like a perfume style cosmetics box. I thought Nintendo had just made some stupid cologne or something. Sure enough, the odly different package (which looks like it should be in the Sears Cosmetics counter) was the Game Boy Micro, and boy is it small indeed. Despite the Oct. 15 (or so) release, I was wondering about the orders, so I kept it hidden after checking pre order informantion, nope, preorder ends on the 14 of Oct for release the next day. I even spied the nearby EB games, there wern't selling it. After a customer inquired, I check the computer preorder status once again, the date changed for release "yesterday" I asked management iis what everyone else thought, mid October release, but after an email to head office, we got the news: Begin the sales of the Game Boy Advance Micro and prematurely end all preordering.Of course, this was a headache for me, two hours to close and I had to rearrange the area behind the counter to fit them up. Oddly enough, the packaging so matches the PSP packaging, almost as if they we're meant to sit side by side the shelves. Maybe they'll get married and have GBA micro 'micros'. All with my store's Nintendog personal demo running nearby it, of which, I'm the official 'master'. It was nice of Nintendo to order the higher ups to let my play with Nintendogs in order for 'product training' to better serve our customers

General Discussion / Tech & Video Gaming / GTA:SA back on shelves

Man, I guess I was glad to pull a 12 hour shift at work today to see this piece of history. Grand Theft Auto: San Adreas suddenly poped onto my counter with me all "what the heck" about it. Sure enough, they have finally finished the reprogramming of the Xbox version at least, so it's safe to say GTA:SA will be back on sale at your nearby store sometime soon. And yes it is still rated Mature. Great, now I'm back to checking people under 25 for ID It's bad enough my provice wants to make it so that "I" can be fined $1000 if I don't ask for ID if they look younger than 25 to see if they are older than 17. My god, these aren't cigarettes I'm selling.

General Discussion / Tech & Video Gaming / Re: Arcade favourites

My first favourite arcade machine was probably the rare Super Mario Bros. upright arcade cabinate (can't spell today). Fav arcade games of the 80's: Black Tiger by Capcom Disks of Tron by Midway (the one on one with cpu disk hurling one, not the 4 type game version) The 90's: Samurai Showdown 1 (never got to play the others ) Soul Blade (or Edge, forget which one the arcade version was) enjoyed quite a few NEO-GEO games. Probably a few more but can't think of at the moment.

Since I deal with video games at the store I work at, this is the sum of the problem.
Due to content deemed equal to pornography, us stores took the games off the shelves, like, since when have you found porno in your local dept or toy store.
I know I've had my share of rejecting sales of GTA:SA to kids when they try to buy it, or even getting their parents to buy it, we warn them as well.
And dealing with a bit of Psyc and Sociology, the main problem with teens (and to a growing extent, older children) is that partents have less involvement in the raising of their children in comparison to the children's actual peers and ..... Television and the media.

Being the new kid on the block (I hated that group), I was gonna post a new thread to show off my stuff, but since I use DA solely, I might as well plug away. http://atariraccoon.deviantart.com/But if you're into SPC, then you'll want to dive straight into these pics: http://www.deviantart.com/view/7096150/ Princess Vi - you've probably seen it if you've ever been to Princess Vi's Spiffy Diffy web page. http://www.deviantart.com/view/8815049/ Some pixel art involving a Vi mouse icon I found once, was a spur of the moment thing. http://www.deviantart.com/view/7303596/ Atari - me, my name, I call myself, my own SPC char.

Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: Introductions / Your First SPC Experience

My first experience was in fact, the first time it was aired in Canada on YTV. Strange enough, I'd try to watch it the first year on Sat mornings but household life was always in the way (my parents always vaccumed while it was on).
Fortunately, after that, I was able to watch it day after day when it finally hit syndication not too long thereafter.

Hello, good old SPC/KNT fan Atari Raccoon has finally scrounged enough time to actually pop into here. Well, it didn't help the fact I've forgotten about this place the first time it was brought to my attention a year or so ago.
So to keep from boring anyone, I'll skip any and all details unless asked and say "Hi."
