Samurai Pizza Cats / Teyandee! Discussion / KNT now on Crunchyroll

Like SPC, KNT is now available in full on Crunchyroll (and has been since May), complete with subtitles. You can watch the whole series for free without signing up.
I've never actually seen the original series before (except for clips here and there), so I'm going through it now, though I'm kind of skipping to the end and watching the last episode first, as I've always wanted to see it. I'm struck by how similar the plot is to the SPC dub, and it makes me wonder if they might have hung onto the original script for this one.
A question for Tigriss, felineki, or anyone else who might know: When Otama is revealed as "head of the Cat family," what's the significance? The Nyankee aren't related, so is she supposed to be like a mob boss, or something?

Samurai Pizza Cats / Game Projects / Re: Samurai Pizza Cats MUGEN Fighter

I'm glad to see that work on this is still progressing; I was worried that we wouldn't get to see any more. Some thoughts: You may want to speed up Polly and Guido's assist moves. MUGEN tends to be very fast-paced and combo-heavy (despite how horribly imbalanced it is in general), and as it stands, their attacks seem a little sluggish. You've given your reasons for preferring the English localization, but I think that throwing in a few KNT lines might help to add some atmosphere; hearing Speedy bust out with "HISSATSU! NEKO ME SURASSHU!" during his super would definitely give me chills.

Samurai Pizza Cats / Teyandee! Discussion / Re: Karamaru art by Tenko

Toy companies actually do have a lot of control over the content that makes it into certain television shows; Hasbro, for example, maintained a tremendous amount of influence over what showed up in Transformers, and certain characters were created specifically so toys based on them could be sold to children.
It sounds as if Tenko was referring to the extra-topping armor upgrade when he talks about "mega up parts". I keep hearing that Bandai had a stake in the series, so it's entirely possible that this was something that was added to the plot at their insistence so they could sell action figures and model kits later on.
