Wow! I'd like to congratulate you and the entire Blast Zero crew with their outstanding work! I mean, I can only guess how difficult it must have been to get the rights to even start making the game, let alone the Herculian task to get all original voice actors together in both English and Japanese... And then produce animation that is as good as indistinguishable from the animation produced by Tatsunoko! I hope it will be a huge success! Instabuy for me! In the promo, loved Big Cheese's breakout of the standard definition TV bars, and the joke that the actors are recording "as we speak" :-D Glad to have you here at Edoropolis Emporium!

General Discussion / Anime & Cartoons / Helluva Boss / Vivziepop ?

I haven't seen a topic on the SPC Forums about the Youtube series Helluva Boss, and more generally Vivziepop's Youtube channel. So here goes, what do you all think of her stuff and the Helluva Boss series? Given the sometimes graphic nature of Vivziepop's stuff, this topic might be better suited for the Nihonbare subforum? Please move it if you think so, fellow moderators. https://www.youtube.com/user/SpindleHorse

Samurai Pizza Cats / EE Technical & Edoropolis.org Hosting Support / Re: Edoropolis.org down for a week!

A couple of weeks ago, the datacenter where the Edoropolis.org server was located, performed maintenance on its power cabling. This necessitated a server powerdown. The maintenance itself took a whole lot longer than I would have anticipated: some 8 hours instead of one or two that I'd expected. So far so good: the server powered on again and everything seemed fine.
However, sometimes harddrives that have been running for (a couple of) years do not particularly like a poweroff. This was the case with the Edoropolis.org server: not one but all disks failed within a couple of days after the power maintenance. I noticed read errors and hangs, attempted to move data to disks I thought were unaffected, only to be met with more read errors and the two disks that had seemed fine also starting to produce errors as well.
All this wasn't helped by the fact that I wasn't at home, working through a very slow and unstable WiFi network. The whole SARS-COV-2 (corona) situation made me reluctant to make a trip to the datacenter. So I configured a cloud service to temporarily host Edoropolis.org and restored the last working backup - which was made only days prior, just before the power maintenance - to it.
Then my laptop fell from the couch, shattering its display. Nice! So I had to continue restoring and configuring using my phone. That was annoying to say the least haha...
So that's what happened and why it took so long to get everything back up and running.

General Discussion / Off-Topic Discussion / Tip: Tobudasai (Romero Comics)
|

I recently found this webcomic: http://romerocomics.com/comicsarchive/It starts off a little clumsy, but from the 3rd chapter it's found its "way" and is pretty funny The comic revolves around a rather nasty, egotistic and selfish "hero" who looks a little bit like a really fat Steven Seagall. It repeatedly breaks the 3rd wall in a very SPC-esque way. For example, there's an ape in control of some of the "special effects" and all characters refer to "chapters" and "panels" as their natural time unit. Check it out if you have time
