1 Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: OFFICIAL SPC and KNT Boxsets to be released by Discotek Media! on: March 23, 2014, 07:16:26 pm
It took me a whole month to save money for Anime Boston, but I finally got the DVD Box Set, and it's direct from the makers themselves! I cosplayed as Ash Ketchum, though.

I have a theory about the delay of the English Dub release: Discotek may be trying to experiment, by trying to use the Japanese Video as a high-quality master, and change it around, so they can work in the English Audio, and recreate the experience as accurately as possible. But they'll need Saban Brands's help for that!

Release Date for LNC is in April? Maybe in May or June, or September, we'll see SPC. A wise dog (Big Al Dente) once said the following:

"Hmmm... Gee, that's not so bad."

No, it's not bad, and neither was my recent Straight-A's earned in my first semester in college!

You could always enter that contest Blackcat Speedy Wink

Great news, aptly subtitled bringer of good news person! Hope soon means real soon!
About that: the status of the show now can't be seen as "abandoned" anymore so in due time, some of the edoropolis.org services regarding episodes will cease to exist.

"Real soon" would be pushing it. I prefer to wait a while. Might be summer, might be autumn, might even be an unusually hot winter for that matter, given the record warmth we've had THIS winter!

They released a lot of other stuff on DVD. Fist of the North Star, Little Nemo in Slumberland, and others. Saban could just give them the SPC Masters, and Tatsunoko can restore the KNT Masters, as well as fulfill the requests.

Well, now. This calls for a celebration.

I don't care how much it costs, I'm getting all of these!

YoshiAngemon, you have reported the biggest news in Pizza Cats fandom since this board was created. Good job!

It wouldn't be the first time I reported on news relating to a DVD release of a cult classic. I was one who found out about the Complete Sam & Max: Freelance Police Boxset from Shout Factory, and spread the word about it to Toonzone's forums, back when I used to go there. And just recently, I was one who posted an error report regarding the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic DVD "The Friendship Express," regarding lag on Episodes 1 and 2, inciting a Disc-replacement program to be enacted. And millions of Bronies were glad to keep their flawed copies, while getting the new ones. Also one time, I actually held the Number One Spot on TIdal Tempest Zone 3 on Sonic CD's leaderboards on PSN, but now I'm about number 2.

So, yeah. I aim to please. As for the price, I'd wager it would cost about $40 to $60 per boxset, if you factor in sales tax, and shipping and handling. The price would be hefty, but well worth it!

How about "I'm so happy I could explode!" followed by a literal explosion with rainbow smoke.
9 Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: OFFICIAL SPC and KNT Boxsets to be released by Discotek Media! on: March 12, 2012, 11:51:46 pm
It IS Two Boxsets - One for each version - the 52-Episode Edited American Version we're all familiar with, and the 54-Episode Uncut ORIGINAL Edition, with the English Subtitles!

Attention all remnants of the fandom who may have or may not have become Bronies or whatever: TVShowsonDVD.com has the scoop on our favorite feline heroes and not one, but TWO Boxsets coming this year!

Samurai Pizza Cats - Discotek Media Announces DVD Plans for the Classic '91 Series!
Plans are to make it available in both English version, and separate Japanese-language version with English subtitles

WOW! We just got some great news, courtesy of a tip from reader Stephen Couch (thanks!). He pointed us toward the Facebook post by Discotek Media, who put up a great image representing the classic 1991 animated series Samurai Pizza Cats, and captioned it with the words, "Complete series coming soon"!

In the comments attached to the picture, they give more details: "English dubbed version and a English subtitled Japanese language version"; "pricing isn't determined yet. The dub and sub versions will be separate releases"; and "Number of boxsets hasn't been determined yet. All 54 episodes for the sub version, and 52 episodes for the dub." This is all the info we have for you so far, but hopefully Discotek Media will include us in on any updates, including details and package art. Stay tuned!

And they say that SPEEDY is fast! But with news this big, following Shout Factory's recent acquisition of the Power Rangers DVD Licence, and their pledge to release Season Sets and Complete Series sets, I can simply say that it took a long time for this to happen, and it will be well worth it in the end.

Because they wanted someone who's even MORE well-known than our favorite felines. But the real problem was moves. He doesn't really do much outside of fight and drive the Mach 5.

What I meant was a Re-Versioning, NOT something entirely new! That means taking the already existing episodes and audio, and restoring the footage, as well as adding some somewhat unnecessary comic book-like VFX (like BONK! or KLUTZ!, or CRASH!). Watch the Re-Versioned MMPR on Youtube, and you'll understand.

Maybe somewhere along the line, Disney and Saban want to re-version the Samurai Pizza Cats, the same way they re-versioned The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (now airing on ABC Kids, with online availability on iTunes and Youtube.) And if that happens, then you could expect some American SPC Merchandise from Bandai.

What? Just so Daffy Duck can get abused even MORE? You're despicable!
15 General Discussion / Tech & Video Gaming / Re: Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom (SPC/KNT Characters Could Possibly Appear?!!??!?!?!?!) on: January 18, 2010, 01:04:45 am
Well, Capcom really put a lot of work in the legal department, trying to get copyrights for ALL those characters! I mean, do you have any IDEA how hard it must've been, trying to get characters like Tekkaman Blade, Joe the Condor, and Yatterman-2 in the game? Or even the rights to characters from shows like Gatchaman, Yatterman, Ippatsuman, or even Karas for use in the game? REALLY HARD, when an International Release is imminent!

If it weren't for us, the fans wanting this game, we would've been stuck with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where we would only play as Nintendo Characters, plus Solid Snake and Sonic the Hedgehog! LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, RAZGRIZBLAZE1, MECHADON, PETROIVANMARTIN, AND KYOSABER! IF WE WERE MORE PATIENT, MAYBE CAPCOM WOULD'VE NEGOTIATED WITH SQUARE ENIX AND DISNEY, AND MADE KINGDOM HEARTS VS. CAPCOM! We could've had a 3-on-3 Fighting Game Format, similar to Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and for the first time, you'd be able to make teams with combinations that aren't limited to just "Sora, Donald, and Goofy!" You could've had Leon, Ryu, and Aladdin, or Dan, Genie, and Demyx, (Jokes of all worlds) or even Mulan, Axel, and Hades (Firaja Combo Finish)! And the Final Bosses would be Sephiroth, Akuma, and Xehanort's Heartless!

It was, but we needed TRUE Verification.

Forgive the Double-Post, but it looks like The Samurai Pizza Cats are NOT appearing in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. But, don't be sad, they will be missed.

I know this is my 100th post, but I just want everyone to be patient. I intend on getting the game when the GameStop opens, and the shipment comes in. I just hope it's on the 26th, and not on the 27th! I recently paid for it in full. I wonder what other news there will be.
19 Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: Pizza Cats Review Newsletter on: January 06, 2010, 12:31:42 am
Don't worry. If there's ever any hope involving Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, we might see some more news worth posting, and it might spark some more stuff.
20 General Discussion / Tech & Video Gaming / Re: Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom (SPC/KNT Characters Could Possibly Appear?!!??!?!?!?!) on: January 06, 2010, 12:24:16 am
Okay, since it's really close to the release date,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMquzQhlsk8

Secret Character: Yatterman-2 (Ai-Chan)! She was one of the characters leaked by means of HTML. We all thought she wouldn't make it, but now, it's all come full circle. She's got Yatter-Pelican as a Super Move, and She's Yatterman-1's (Gan-Chan's) Partner in Crime-Fighting against the evil Dorombo gang! She wields an electric baton, can fire electric projectiles, and she just happens to be Seth Killian's personal favorite! Unless there are more Super Secret Secret Characters (I don't mean Agent Triple-Zero, and likewise Morocco Mole), she just might be the last one revealed.
