!! I am sorry to say this guys but I hope these toys have big delays. That way we can save up better x_x Let's see, I paid 100 euro's for Speedy plus 25 customs costs. So I'll need at least 375 which is exactly 5 months of saving. I am hoping for a end of the year release for the Great Catatonic and late 2015 and late 2016 for Guido and Polly. That way our wallets will know mercy

I finally ordered both sets after months of setting it back
Discotek doesn't do IT shipping for the moment I was forced to buy them off Ebay. I trust the retailer. Its just that we both didn't know if disc 2 was the defective version or not. I hope that works out.
Any way any word on the Australian versions from Madman? I wish I could have gotten those to be honest. I trust Madman more then Discotek.

I totally forgot to post here xD I got my ES Gokin Speedy for a few weeks now, the build is good though I kept having issues with the neck. And the back part of the Ginzu sword is a pain to keep in place. It didn't came with a pizza though that was fixed by stealing it from Mikey. Over all I am pretty happy to just display him in default mode In front of the place where I will be putting up my KNT/SPC/MMPR dvd sets when I buy them in the next two months. I am sad that there's no news on the ES Gokin Nyagou King yet. At least an update on the paint job would make me happy. Though not as much as an ES Gokin release of the other Pizza Cats

Err, I'm kinda not too happy you did that. This was a pretty critical review, after all, even if I am glad to have it and would encourage others to buy it anyway. I thought about sending Discotek another e-mail, but more nicely worded than what I've written here. In the future, maybe you should ask before you do something like that. Sorry, my sincere apologies, I did not know I wasn't to post it there, and I though it get more users one the forums

Thank you for the great review. I made sure to pass it around a bit like on the Discotek FB page. I've been putting off the buy last month due to money issues. And I did want to buy it this month but seeing this it has put me off a bit. I am still going to get it, but I waited for so long I think I can wait a bit longer and use the money for something equally disappointing but more limited.

I just bought ES-Gokin PC-01 Speedy from Ebay. It was €99.63 which is a huge price for me but with the DVD set coming up I couldn't resist! Luckily a dude was interested in my Shogun Warriors Grendizer and I was able to sell it to him, so that worked out for the better xD I do not plan on getting the Supreme Catatonic, but I do hope Polly comes out as well!

Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: OFFICIAL SPC and KNT Boxsets to be released by Discotek Media!

To the clip posted: Considering this is a 1990 period anime, and in 'Youtube' quality, that transfer looks quite clear, though it looks like the image here is stretched and 'letterboxed'. Will look quite good on a decent-quality TV with a player that can properly up-convert DVD, though let's not expect HD-quality. It will be 4:3 and, pending your setup is correct, 'pillarboxed' (bars at the left / right). I have a few older 1980s-era anime and TV shows (Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku for anime, and the 1980s TV drama 'Dallas' among them), and those looked clear and vibrant on my TV, so I'm expecting like-quality with SPC. I've got my setup where it plays the formats properly depending on the source material. I've tried in the past watching older shows with 'fullscreen' productions are stretched to fill my widescreen setup. In short, terrible-looking to my eyes....stretched faces and what-not.
I notice with cel animation, whether Western like Disney, or from Japan, the quality depended on money spent and release format. The more spent (like on something like Escaflowne), or on the many OAVs and movies released in those days, the quality was often-times better than any typical weekly TV series that were aired. Long-running shows just often looked average to below....choppy animation, jitter in scene-changes, etc. Some studios (GAINAX) were notorious for basically running the money well dry to the point where all they could do were still shots.
That said, again, I say this looks quite nice. It'll be nicer running off a BluRay / DVD player via HDMI on a regular TV. I wouldn't pass final judgement on a YT clip.
Yes you are correct about that, I assumed it was DVD quality because its the only KNT video on youtube that has a remastered look instead of looking like the encodes KNT used to sub the first 3 episodes. And this being the only one posted in 2012 I honestly thought I was right. Also I should have posted the ED too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-sOISVvOGU

so you go to neeltje jans with the bike? (if you're on vacation in zeeland)
Only once from Haamstede over the Rijksweg 57 to a beach near Zeedijk, it was very windy and the cars where going 100 kmph and i was like 7 and scared XD Sealand is awesome i went on vacation there more then a few times, the only thing i didnt like about it was that once the car was so full that my dad and i needed to take the bicycle over the delta works. You've been to Sealand? Not that one but it does look like that piece of the pier in Scheveningen the Hague that people aren`t supposed to use anymore.
