1  General Discussion / Anime & Cartoons / Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows on: August 07, 2007, 11:45:50 am
I never saw the big deal of it either. Usually around that time I'd use Dish network's DVR to watch episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist or Danny Phantom that I'd recorded.
2  General Discussion / Anime & Cartoons / Re: Top 5 Favorite Animated Shows on: August 06, 2007, 02:46:26 am
Top five non-SPC anime/cartoons in my book...(SPOILER WARNING.)

5:Gundam Wing - This was just a spectacularly done Gundam series. The politics and the characters knocked my proverbial socks off. I've heard a lot of people shun this one in favor of 08th MS Team or 0080, but to be honest, both of those anime are pure garbage, IMO. I despised both 08th MS Team and 0080. Both were extremely boring and I just couldn't get into them.

4: Dragon Ball - The original was best, before the franchise became more or less EXCLUSIVELY about long, drawn-out battles, because its name actually had RELEVANCE to the general plot. Most of the story lines had to do with finding the Dragon Balls. I realize that the first two arcs of DBZ involved that too, but they just DO NOT COMPARE. Not so say I hated DBZ...well, except the Buu Saga. That was just STUPID.

3:Rurouni Kenshin - If you don't know about this series, go find it. NOW. This is easily the best and most believable anime I've seen in my life, and characters in it were based on REAL historical Japanese characters. Anyway, it's DARN good. It follows the tale of Kenshin Himura, the man once known as Hitokiri Battousai, the manslayer, who is now trying to atone for his murderous past by resolving to never kill again. I can't recommend watching this enough, but I feel I must warn of the rather large quantities of bloodshed in the uncut version.

2:Yu Yu Hakusho - For some reason, this show really got me. Perhaps it was the characters. I felt more attached to Yusuke alone than the ENTIRE cast of DBZ(Most of which I hated.). Perhaps it was the absolutely fantastic sondtrack. Don't think it's got a good soundtrack? Go watch Episode 93. Specifically, listen to the music that's playing as Yusuke beats eight tons of fecal matter out of Sensui. The music just fits the mood at EVERY point it plays. Perhaps it's because the good guys prove they can kick serious butt without having to LOOK overly-muscled, which is more than can be said for DBZ(For proof of that, check out Goku at any level of SSJ. NO MAN SHOULD HAVE THAT KIND OF MUSCLE.). Whichever way you slice it, IMO, Yu Yu Hakusho is an INSTANT classic.

And now...here comes number 1.

*DRUMROLL'D*

1: Danny Phantom - Surprised that a Western cartoon showed up in a list made SOLELY(To this point, anyway) of anime? Don't be. Danny Phantom has blown me away from the very first episode I've seen. Like I said in an earlier topic I posted in, even a show this awesome has its downsides, but thankfully they were stand-alones and had nothing to do with the overall plot(Which is just awesome, IMO.), but anyway...why is it number one? Aside from Aragon and Dani Phantom, I have yet to see any characters I hate. The villain(Vlad Masters/Plasmius) is just awesome in the way he ALWAYS has things planned in advance(Making Danny really have to use his head to outwit him most of the time.). Plus, Jazz(Danny's older sister.) has been my cartoon crush from the moment I laid eyes on her, and she's easily my all-time favorite animated female. The plots are great, each following the same basic formula(Which Danny graciously reveals in Episode 31. Tongue), but making each episode original enough to the point where it doesn't get old. Aside from the opening theme(Which has a rap-like sound to it that just doesn't flow all too well IMO.), the music is awesome. Great, great soundtrack that needs to be put on a CD. Sadly, it ended midway through its third season, due to Nickelodeon's decision to cancel it from out of the blue, which has sparked an inner fury toward Nickelodeon within me since hearing the announcement. Overall, this is, well, barely topped by the reason we're all here, Samurai Pizza Cats/Kyatto Ninden Teyandee. This is the best cartoon to ever come from the US of A.
3  Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: Absolute Best SPC Episode Ever! on: July 23, 2007, 02:45:47 pm

You may not have liked 'Pizza Delivery of Doom', but I thought it was pretty funny, especially when Princess Vi starts chasing Cheese around with the naginata.

Oh, don't get me wrong. There were funny parts to PDoD, but overall, it was my least favorite episode. SPC is possibly the only series I've ever watched where there isn't a single episode that I hated. Even my favorite Western cartoon(Danny Phantom) had some craptastic episodes(*cough*BEAUTYMARKED*cough*. Seriously, that episode was pure GARBAGE.).
4  Samurai Pizza Cats / SPC Episode Reviews Board / Re: SPC 38 - A Mission In Manhattan on: July 23, 2007, 12:02:06 pm
One of my favorite episodes in the entire series. It goes right up there with Candid Kitties, Underground, Underwater, Undercooked, The Nuclear Potato, Pizza Bird Delivers, Gender Bender Butterflies, Bad Bird Uncaged, and of course, the Big Comet Caper.

My personal favourites are The Big Comet Caper pt. I & II, and Pizza Bird Delivers.

Though in terms of episode I've found the funniest:

1. Pizza Delivery of Doom
2. Gender Bender Butterflies
3. Youth is for Exploding
4. The Terror of Prisoner Island
5. Cold and Crabby in Little Tokyo

The funniest one you listed, IMO, was Cold and Crabby in Little Tokyo. Pizza Delivery of Doom was possibly my LEAST favorite episode in the entire series. Tongue

I'd say my personal favorite, as far as humor goes, is Candid Kitties, because of Bad Bird replacing the Metro-Goldwin Meyer lion. Tongue

Thank god for the "Delete" feature. I accidentally triple-posted.

BOOYAH. Another SWEET midi conversion of an outright awesome KNT track. Grin

And I must add...lovely way of presenting it. Grin

Thanks. Smiley There are others out there who could likely do a better job, but since KNT's fairly obscure, its soundtrack doesn't get much attention. So I'm trying to fill in as best as I can.

Anyway, I'm currently working on the song used when the Nyankii do their appereance speech (you know, "Korai yori... etc.etc.etc. ...seigi to shouri no shito, himitsu ninja tai Nyankii!").

Wow, that's funny. That's EXACTLY what I imagined you were gonna do next. XD

Can't wait to hear it. Your other midi has been spot-on. Grin

I don't have any more tunes complete yet, but since it's been a while since the last one, I figured I should give you a taste of what's currently in progress.

I hope to get this one finished pretty soon.

That is the greatest midi I have ever heard in my life. You, sir, are a KNT midi GOD.
