Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: If SPC were to come back ...

I guess it would depend more on the quality of the show than the art style. Sort of like Power Puff Girls, you have the original that looks like flash animation, and the anime version that came out later, except in this case you're going the other way.
If KNT/SPC did come back it would look different, because the days of hand painted animation cels are over. DiGiCharat can kind of give you an idea of what the change might look like, since the first couple series were done with cels then later with Panyo Panyo DiGiCharat and DiGiCharat Nyo were done digitally.

Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: Ginsu Knives!

I'm old enough to actually remember seeing Ginsu commercials in the 80s, so I always got the "Ginsu sword" reference in SPC. It was the real origin of the "hard sell" pitchman style infomercial that BILLY MAYS was so famous for. And "ginsu" is just a made up name that sounds Japanese, but has no Japanese meaning at all.

Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: OFFICIAL SPC and KNT Boxsets to be released by Discotek Media!

We can finally kiss those less-than-average RealVideo rips that have been floating around on YouTube and other various sites (SPC fansite and non-fansite alike) 'Sayonara'. To have those alone, in the clear for the first time are worth the cost of the set alone.
Oh! I had completely overlooked that fact. So many years searching and collecting all the SPC and KNT episodes online. Some of them are extremely poor quality too, but it's all I had so I saved them. And people put a lot of work into trying to make good copies for us to watch (That work was not in vain! It kept us going while we waited for this day.) I was so proud of myself when I was able to offer everyone a complete set of all the KNT episodes after weeks of searching and trading with Japanese fans (most of those recorded off Japanese TV or from the incomplete set of VHS tapes released in Japan) Now I can clear up a bunch of hard drive space. Still gonna keep the Project Dream versions due to their superior subtitles on the few episodes. And I'll check the KNTs before I delete them because I think some may have Japanese commercials intact. I know somewhere at least I had a commercial for the KNT toys, but that might be on one of my VHS tapes. I also have some tapes and CDs I can probably toss out.
