In the absence of a reliable translation device, necessity and creativity are required to fill in the blanks.
I've been learning that during my desperate attempts to try and find a means to translate the images from the KNT Memorial mangas that I happen to have on hand. ^_^;

AHA! You're still around, eh? Considering that your initial fanfic "Crimson Dawn" was one of the things that opened my mind to the potential for fan content, I've always been hoping to chat with you more!
And yes, it IS surprising how many connections the SPC stories share with the KNT episodes, isn't it? Myself, I can't help but wonder if the Discotek subbers used the SPC script as a guide for things like Koon no Kami's general plots, and what have you...and yet, at the same time, there's enough differences that the original scripts probably WERE different enough.

Samurai Pizza Cats / Fan Works / Re: Guido Cerviche (1983-2010)
|
on: April 30, 2015, 02:35:38 am

Right...I haven't been around here much, but I was informed of Guido's passing some time ago, and when I heard that a thread had been made here, I thought I should make my own post here as a belated tribute to one of the first fandom-related friends I made on the 'Net.
When he and I first met, I was still new to the whole "fandom" thing--fanart, fanfics, and RP were all untested waters for me, and Guido was one of the first fanfic authors I ever interacted with directly. As such, I learned a lot from my experiences with him; hindsight taught me how to avoid the use of Mary Sues in fanfics, power-gaming in RPs, et cetera. Looking back on it, I think Guido was remarkably patient with me, and I'm forever grateful for that. Thanks to my earlier experiences with him, I learned how to become a more original writer, how to be a more fair RPer who gave my partners time to shine, and the importance of keeping the spotlight on the original cast of a given work without relying too heavily on fan-characters. As these were part of my formative years, I don't think it's exaggerating to say that Guido was part of the influence that forged me into the writer I am today.
In addition to this, Guido opened my eyes in other ways--he introduced me to the world of alternative music in the form of Nightwish--upon examining his musical inspiration for some of his episode concepts, I was exhilirated by the way the combination of orchestral, vocals, and metal transported me into another world that was a mixture of fantasy, sci-fi, and anime. As a result, I began keeping an eye out for similar bands, and thus found my way to the works of Linkin Park and Celldweller. Such music has sparked my imagination, and further enriched the worlds I've thought up while listening to it. So that's another thing I owe Guido.
Even as the years went on, and other fandoms started to interest us, we kept in touch and shared ideas. When I lost touch with him, I assumed it was because our contact information had been old, and regretted that I wouldn't get to talk with him again. I never could have imagined that on the other side of the screen, Guido Cerviche's life had been cut short by a heart attack...and it hurts all the more because he was only a few years older than me at the time. When A-Log gave me the news, I had to step away from the computer for a bit and just let it process that I'd never get the chance to chat with Guido again...that his own life, and rich imagination, had been cut short.
So here's to you, Guido Cerviche. May your next time around be kinder.
P.S. As a tribute to Guido, I've been considering posting some doujin images that I've been coloring in, but I'm not sure where I'd put them (since, for the most part, they don't show anything explicit. Would it be here, or in the Teyandee thread due to these not actually being proper fanart? I'd appreciate some insight, here.

Samurai Pizza Cats / Teyandee! Discussion / Re: New KNT Toy To Be Made?!

Wow...the designers really went the full distance with this toy, didn't they? Customization of facial features; the "Extra Topping" battle armor, all three incarnations of the Ginzu/Masamasa Sword...seriously, if I get some spare money and find it up for sale on someplace like Amazon, I might definitely give serious thought towards making a purchase. Anything to show my enduring love for my first real introduction to anime and furry series.

Lovely pic, there. Any idea who drew it?
Also, on a semi-unrelated note--Pururun seems less embarrassed about this than other pics that've used the "armor eject" feature as their theme. Maybe she's getting used to this by now? ;3

Hey there! If I can help contribute to your website by offering descriptions for several of the other elements of the Nyanki Ninpos (or other things in the KNT universe), let me know, ok? I love to write about this sort of stuff.

Samurai Pizza Cats / General SPC Discussion / Re: Random Character Facts

seems to be trying his hand at a wee bit of cross-dressing; albeit nothing as flamboyant as Koon no Kami. I forget the name of the episode ("Destructo Robots at Popular Prices," or something like that?), but the plot was as follows: The Rude Noise (or Dark Quartet, for KNT fans) were trying to prove their worth after Bad Bird/Karamaru was taken out of the game for a bit due to injuries suffered when Yattaro blew up the giant robot. As such, they were following the Pizza Cats/Nyanki to discover their weaknesses--during this time, Cannonball thought to himself, at some point: "I wonder if hair dye works with feathers? I found a great one today!" That's how it went, pretty much. If you can find the episode and download it, you'll see what I mean.

Thanks for your English advice. I never have thought to search in Wikipedia, it'll be really helpful. makes appearance in this page... anyone remembers about them? Page 50Frame 1FX “Banhh” (denotes impressive appearance) Yattarou “O” EN “You...” Yattarou “Omaetachi wa Yami no Yoninshuu!!” EN “You are the Quartet of Darkness!!” Frame 2Zankaa “Hontto” EN “At least...” Cry “Ururururu” Zankaa “Omae DAKE wa chan to oboete ite kurerunda na~” EN “you have remembered about us...” Frame 3Yattarou “...tte dare dakke” EN “... but who are them?” Outside ballon “Namae wa shitten da ke do...” EN “though I already knew their name...” Zankaa “Bukkorosu!!” EN “I'll kill you!!” Frame 4Zankaa “Shineihh Nyankii!!” EN “Die, Nyankii!” FX (sparkle) “Ginhh” Yattarou “Ahh maji da koitsura” EN “Hey, they're serious” Pururun “Anta ga okorasetan deshohh!” EN “It's you who made them upset!” Heh heh heh. Those poor birds...seems like no one remembers them these days. His outraged reaction to Yattaro's inquery was priceless. Now then, we'll soon see if the Nyanki are up to fighting this deadly tag team...unless something happens in the next panel or two... And yeah, giving all characters more air time can sometimes draw attention away from the main stars, Daisensei. It's the risk of pandering to the crowd...you don't want to overdo it.

Hey! I'm back, and I've got an idea for some techniques that Bad/Good Bird/Karamaru could use in any such fan game! Tell me what you think, 'kay?
Karamaru:
Ground Slasher: Infuses Chakra into his sword and cuts along the floor, generating a shockwave
Bird of Prey: Aerial manuver, Karamaru descends on his opponent while performing a fierce slash with his sword.
Black Ginzu Star: Throws shadowy versions of Yattaro's Ginzu Stars. Can be done in mid-air.
Reaper Lunge: Leaps forward with his blade at the ready, infusing it with Chakra as he thrusts forward in a fierce stab attack.
Flight: Non-offensive, uses his wings to fly. Bird of Prey and Black Ginzu Star can be performed during this move.
Hissatu One--Kage no Ninpo: Summons two shadow clones to aid him in a three-way combo attack on his foe.
Hissatu Two: Phoenix Flame Slash: Gathers all his Chakra and unleashes it in the form of a firebird that sears forth from his sword.
(SPECIAL NOTE: With his sword, he can block projectile attacks without sustaining damage. Other attacks, however, will still damage him marginally through a block as they normally do for all characters) ----------
Well, there ya go. What do you think?

Well, okay! Let me see if I can start with a special move list or the Main Three--moves that I'd include in any fandom of mine involving the KNT (including the fan-game idea, if I were ever able to take it beyond simple drawing-board ideas). Let's see, here...
Yattaro:
Force Breaker: A series of powerful sword slashes as Yattaro lunges forward--using a Hard Strike Button would result in up to a triple-slice combination.
Rising Sun Cut: Yattaro leaps into the air, bringing his blade up in an upwards slash. Excels at anti-air manuvers.
Ginzu Star: Tosses a ninja star infused with Ninpo chakra, detonates on impact.
Kawarimi Swap: Uses ninjitsu to swap himself with a double dummy to take an attack, then counters with a sneak attack.
Hover-Boost: Non-offensive, uses the hover-jets in his boots to double-jump.
Hissatu (super move) One--Ginzu Star Barrage: A rapid-fire volley of ginzu stars against the ground, each one exploding in a fountain-blast of Chi.
Hissatu Two--Cat's Eye Slash: Summons his Ninpo chakra into his Ginzu Sword, unleashing it in a powerful energy shockwave arc from both blades--can cause damage even through blocking.
Sukashii:
SunSpot Flash: Uses his umbrella to create a blinding flash that stuns a non-blocking foes (projectile attack)
Battojutsu Rush: Dashes forward at incredible speed, drawing his blade from his umbrella in a quick-draw slice. Hard Strike button will add a follow-up blow from the umbrella itself.
Triple Shuriken: Throws three shuriken needles in rapid succession.
Ninja Vault: Aerial attack in which he descends on an opponent umbrella-first, using the momentum to bounce off and away.
Speed Warp: Non-offensive, uses his hover-jets and speed to do a "teleport."
Hissatu One--Heat-Wave Ninpo: Uses the SunSpot Umbrella to summon a heatwave, causing damage over time until the spell dissappates.
Hissatu Two: Blue Sword Fire: Uses his umbrella to fly, descending towards the enemy with a slash of fiery blue Chakra from his sword.
Pururun:
Passion Paws: A rapid-fire volley of claw-swipes that make a forward approach dangerous (tap the punch button rapidly)
Heart Darts: Throws heart-shaped throwing darts that can set a foe on fire if they connect. Can be launched downward from the air.
Fire Sprite Song: Plays her flute to summon fiery Will O' Wisps to help her (they fly forward when a punch button is releashed)
Sakura Flight: Lunges forward, Chakra-infused feet performing a cartwheel kick.
Neko Step: Non-offensive, can jump against the edge of the screen and push off for added air time.
Hissatu One--Hell Hath no Fury: Lunges forward to grapple the enemy--if successful, Pururun will subject the hapless foe to a fierce meleee combo that ends with upper-cutting the opponent into the air, then sending them flying with a home-run swing with a frying pan.
Hissatu Two--Heart Breaker: Summons her chakra into her kodachi and flute, releasing it into a heart-shaped energy blast
Well....that's about it. Any comments?

Samurai Pizza Cats / Game Projects / KNT: Dawn of a New Age (the game)
|
on: May 17, 2007, 05:04:57 am
|
OK, guys, I have an idea for a fan game of KNT! The only thing is, the likelihood of me producing it is actually rather slim, due to a lack of sprites, programs necessary to make a game on my home computer, and so on. However, be that as it may, I still feel like sharing the ideas with fellow fans--and when I mentioned as such on the fan section, I was advised to post here. So, without further ado... The Premise:Taking place after the Big Comet Caper, KNT: New Age would feature the advent of three shadowy figures (soon revealed to be Big Cheese/Koon no Kami; Jerry Atric/Gennarisei; and a third new player named Dr. Ume Kikaiko, who plan to topple Edoropolis by combining their three resources--crime family connections, the KaraKara clan/Ninja Crows, and cutting-edge robotics! The Pizza Cats/Strike Force Nyanki will have their work cut out for them, this time--even with the addition of their one-time enemy Karamaru/Bad Bird, it's gonna take more than their usual abilities to carry the day now! With the addition of a new member or two, plus advanced training, the Nyanki are entering a new age... Strike Force Nyanki, Dispatch! TEYANDEE!! The Gameplay:We're talking a platformer, ladies and gents...a platformer taking after the MegaMan X series. That means an opening stage that introduces you to such things as gameplay and plot; a stage select that will allow you to tackle the levels in any specific order; hidden upgrades that will make your team more powerful, a recurring boss fight leading up to the big finish, etc. In addition, there would be side missions; secret collectibles that unlock a gallery, and all sorts of other stuff...all in keeping with the zany Super Sentai-esque attitude of the original series. And, of course, it all culminates in a big finale at the enemy stronghold... The Characters: , , and would be the main three you'd play with, of course. In addition, unlockable playable characters would include Karamaru/Bad Bird (who works with the Nyanki as a seperate-yet-connected member--think Protoman from the Megaman series, and you'll get the idea), Otama/Francine, and perhaps a fan character or two. In addition, you'll be able to call in the Rescue Team for specialized scenarios (like in the actual KNT game), bringing the cast up even further. And, if certain secrets are unlocked, even a villain or two might become playable... Enemies:In addition to the KaraKara Ninja and varations of them (I.E. KaraKara that soar from the sky on man-sized kites, others that specialize in sneak attacks, etc.), the lineup of opposition between you and Koon no Kami would include a plethora of high-tech robots--some with a distinctly futuristic slant in mind, while others combine high tech with concepts of ancient Japan to produce whimsical (and deadly) results. And there just might be a hint of the supernatural involved in some part or another... Bosses:At the end of each stage, you'd face off against the "Robot of the Week," each one catering to the theme of their level and packing a variety of attacks. However, in some cases, beating them may be only the warm-up round for some new challenge--say, perhaps, a guest appearance from the Dark Quartet/Rude Noise, or the need to escape the facility before it explodes? And that's not counting mini-boss fights, or a recurring rival ninja team--the KaraKara Clan's answer to the Nyanki, and Karamaru's successor--who would make their presence known more than once, especially during the final missions... Well, that's all I've got at the moment. What do you guys think?

Well, I'm no great shakes with Sprites, as I've said, but for boss ideas/gameplay elements/special moves/items, I'll be glad to offer whatever input I can. In addition, if you're planning on getting music from other sources, I'll be glad to look up any suitable tracks that we might be able to use. Just let me know, ok?
