Saw the new Looney Tunes movie, it was very good, especially if you like cartoons from the 40s, and even 90s and 2000s. Very surprising to see a 2D animated film in theaters these days that isn't anime and is a straight up comedy.

Sadly, it seems like Warner Bros. decided to give it next to no marketing, and on top of that, remove all of classic Looney Tunes from their streaming service (Max) for no real reason as usual, alongside a bunch of the good Scooby Doo Movies like Zombie Island, really is a shame, so I'm canceling my Max sub. It's not like I really watched anything on it besides Curb and Mr. Show with Bob and David (which is on Amazon prime as well iirc... and I also have it on DVD) anyways.

I survived the endoscopy.

Pretty happy that the news about the upcoming game brought back some familiar faces, I was nervous everyone would be just a silly memory by now, I know I'm kind of a silly memory to many people who were here by now.

Obviously I'm still alive, and also have an endoscopy (yes, getting a camera shoved down my throat) in about a week. Kind of nervous about that, but it's unlikely anything bad would happen during the procedure.

As for games, The Sims had it's anniversary lately, and I ended up buying the Sims 2 Legacy collection on steam. Many people say it crashes, but miraculously it hasn't had any serious issues on Steam deck... well, aside from the landlord getting stuck in my sim's bedroom and me having to enable the move objects cheat to get him out, but glitches like that were pretty standard for Sims 2 back then. Playing it docked on the living room tv with wireless mouse and keyboard on the couch is pretty comfy and rather nostalgic, now I just need to figure out how to get custom content working on it through SteamOS/Linux... and get the Ikea stuff pack added, since that's missing in the re-release.

This is pretty awesome, I just wished more members of the forum were still around to see this.

Officially 2025 for me, had a nice conversation with Methid earlier and hope to reconnect with the community.

Thought about this earlier today and decided to send her an email to her AOL address, just a simple email saying that I like her site and appreciate what she did for the fandom... unfortunately the email ended up being undelivered because her mailbox is disabled. I'm not really going further than that as I ultimately respect the privacy of others.

Honestly it is very disappointing, but at least we still have the memories, I'm sure she's still alive out there and cherishes the time spent with the SPC fanbase.

Lately been watching various furry vtubers on twitch, playing stuff on my steam deck and getting into linux. Games I've enjoyed so far are Hypnospace Outlaw (though I think I played that mostly in 2023... oops, still a good game), Maid Cafe on Electric Street and On Your Tail (it's glitchy at the moment, but the devs are really nice and supportive on their discord). I've also been playing Beatmania IIDX at Round One lately.

For more serious issues, I've had problems keeping food down lately, and end up vomiting, very embarrassing when I do so in public, no one knows for sure why. Sinuses, slightly spicy food (although it happens with not spicy foods too), stomach ulcer? Who knows, Doctor isn't exactly helpful and feels a bit condescending about it.

I'm surprised the discord got a bit of attention, and even newer non-Edo emporium friends have found it on their own, which is nice.

Oh yeah, I also had a dream about Violet's website last night, where I just browsed it and emailed her... could it be some premonition type thing again? Last time I had premonition type dreams, I got THAT microwave.

Finally caught up with everything pixar, so far all movies hold up, except cars... and Toy Story 4, the ending still sucks... and Lightyear, that was just plain lame.

I guess I'll watch the new Pixar films, Toy Story 5 will probably suck, but I might as well witness the downfall of a childhood franchise.

Bumping the thread once again for another bit of unfortunate Warner Brothers news, Cartoon Network's Website (at least the USA english one) now redirects to Max's (the streaming service, formerly carrying the HBO branding) Cartoon Network section. Now I'm not going to completely doompost and say "Yeah, the brand is dead", considering they have a hotel operating somewhere in the North East of the US with the branding currently (albeit, a themed motel with a fancy lobby with meet and greets, and eating space), but it's a shame their web presence is gone, many good days were spent playing their games. Moving onto Disney, Zootopia 2 has been confirmed, and watching someone's stream of D23, Pixar has a Baseball movie series coming out that looks kind of cute.

And with Paramount, they're streaming a new Ninja turtles series, the art direction looks nice, but honestly the animation leaves a bit to be desired, but that's just me.

So the old WB isn't looking too hot lately, Zaslov's policies have scared away creatives and their finances aren't looking so hot from what I have heard, I predict that once they're in they're bankrupt, Disney, Paramount and Universal will probably be circling their properties like vultures. Who will get what? Well, Disney owning WB properties honestly sounds pretty nightmarish, I could see paramount or universal owning their properties.

Still alive, been watching each Pixar feature film in chronological order, finished Up and now onto Toy Story 3.

I'd say most of them hold up... except Cars, which I didn't watch then, but I felt was very slow paced as I watched it for the first time a week or so ago. I guess I can understand that little kids could like it, but I just never saw the appeal... and eventually I'm going to have to get to Cars 2

I'm sure 13/14 year old me would be happy that people look back fondly on "lolsorandom" stuff now

2024 is off to a rather rocky start, but I just saw the new Wonka movie (Yeah, I know it's over a month old) and it was pretty great. Hopefully this year has some nice movies and such

Since the year is ending, I have to say it's an interesting year for animation.
Disney on their 100th birthday of all the times is struggling, the more I hear about Wish, the worse it sounds. The rest of this year's Disney Catalog isn't doing so hot though... Thankfully like the 80s Disney slump, others seemed to have stepped in.

Mario was pretty good, surprising for Illumination, but I'm sure Miyamoto was basically breathing down their necks during the production, making sure the studio didn't mess things up. It should be interesting to see where the inevitable sequel will go, as for other Nintendo franchises jumping to cinema, Zelda is confirmed getting a live action movie. But what else could get an animated movie? Maybe a Donkey Kong spinoff? A Kirby movie? Who knows. Not really animation related, but I think an Elite Beat Agents movie would be really good.

While I didn't see it yet, I've heard really good things about Nimona, I have to check that out soon.

There was a Trollz movie... another one, not my thing, I'm not the target audience honestly, but the detail in the trailers looked pretty good, I'm sure the target demographic would be pretty happy with it.

There was some other movie... was it some squid movie or something? I heard that did really badly financially, ouch. Shame, looked interesting, but I'm kind of afraid it might be rather middling.

I'm ashamed to admit I didn't watch the newest Ghibli movie, I did hear many have hype around it.


What about stuff to come? I hear Sony is working on a new project that sounds like it could be interesting, but Sony tends to not hit as hard honestly. Could Disney redeem themselves (Nah, I doubt it, unless Iger goes or some shake up happens, and even then it's going to be a long while, animation takes time)?

Oh yeah, Toy Story 5 is something that will happen... not sure why, Toy Story 4 had great visuals, but ended on a sour note for me, would be worth checking out just to see how Pixar's visuals look, Toy Story always tends to be a good representation of the state of CG animation, and we have come a long way since the first one.

So I haven't watched Wish, but all I've heard about it is that it's not very good. Shame, considering I also heard that it had a lot of interesting stuff left on the cutting room floor.

Not sure if I'll see it in theaters or wait until it inevitably hits Disney+ just to see how it went.

Oh yeah, New inside Out that looks pretty mediocre, and Toy Story 5 is also eventually coming, looks like Disney really is flexing their creative muscles lately. _{Legally obligated to say that was sarcasm.}

Seems liken they're playing it safe, but it looks like it could be a fun movie, might check it out.

Are they playing it safe because of previous financial disappointments? Nah, I know enough about animated features to know they take a long ass time to make, this was most likely in production for a decade. Hopefully they market it this time.
