I always thought of cool accents being Brittish, or Australian, or Irish. I just grew up assuming a Boston accent was more embarrassing than anything else ;p

Well that's the Bostonian accent. There are also the Jersey and New York accents, along with a few odd variations from Maine, but Bostonian is the closest you could come to an all-around New England accent, though it is by far thickest within the Boston city limits. And I happen to live 15 mins from Boston ^^
