Just my 2 cents. If you folks think you're ready, then go ahead and let's get it started.
I don't have any videos nor software to make screen-captures. So someone else will have to start us out.
If you start a new thread, I will float it.
Otherwise, if someone could write up a small FAQ with links to either free software, or pay-software, as well as tips, that would be a major aid to this project.

Since I'm using Linux, perhaps my tips isn't so useful here. Sorry, Windows users!

Perhaps it's time to you change your operating system.

My Linux is a pretty standard instalation of the Debian GNU/Linux, but other distributions goes in the same way. In the Gnome desktop environment, you have in the menu an option which permits to save all of the desktop view in a image file (PNG format). So play an AVI, MPEG, RM, WMV or whatever format episode in the Mplayer prog, and when the desired scene is found, press SPACE to pause the player; then you press the icon of the screen capture program which I already mentioned, and
voilá, you have all the desktop image saved. Afterwards, you can edit the image (cropping it, saving in another file format, and so on) with Gimp image editor.
EDIT: you can find one example in my avatar, I captured it in the KNT 17 eps.
