Part 2
Three hours later, the Emporium is open; Guido was at the cash counter, while Polly was attending the customers and Speedy was using the pizza making machine. There where only a few customers, not many people at Little Tokyo ate pizza at six PM after all.
Meanwhile Francine is in the women bathroom checking that she has everything for her date with Bucky.
“Dress Ok, shoes Ok, makeup Ok, money Ok (But Bucky is going to pay anyway), I need something more?” She thought". Oh yes...I almost forgot the most important thing... A big smile!
Then, after checking everything for the last time, and programing the launch computer default launch to be the middle of town, plus leaving a pre-recorded message; Francine left the emporium, with a happy face and whistling a catchy tune. And yes, she was wearing the purple dress!
“I hardly see her so happy like when she goes to date that deer” said the romantic lover, more know as Guido while giving yet another customer his change, was there a sound of envy if his words?
“That's just the power of love!” said Polly, that had just finished attending the tables and seemed to be looking at Speedy when no one was looking at her.
“I know we are popular and all, but why does people have to eat pizza so early? Other restaurants don't open until eight PM” said Speedy , he seemed to be annoyed for some reason
“Other restaurants? And since when your care about what our rivals in the business do? Are you looking for a better job Speedy?- asked Polly, complaining about their job was not something they could normally do, but with Francine not there, the mouses or more accurately cats could have some fun.
“No, I just meant that the taxes are higher since the reconstruction of the Palace and most of the city, we are the only restaurant branch that STILL opens this early, why not open later and save power and gas? It helps Mother Earth!”
“Hey Speedy, cut out the Greenpeace stuff, we all know you just want more time to goof of, and where did you learn all that business stuff anyway?- asked Guido, while Polly oddly seemed to be staring at the window, as if thinking on something, she didn't have anything else to do unless one of the customers she had just served ordered something else.
“Lucille said it in the news!”
“You saw Lucille on TV? But you said before that you only watched cartoons” said Polly angry
“I um... did that because all the cartoons they showed today where re-runs?- he said, but Polly smacked him with a frying pan anyway
“Hey, what was that for?” he said angry
“You still like her, don't you?”asked Polly looking even angrier, her eyes seemed like she was holding tears
“Like her? No... I just wanted to see if she was good at her new job, you know, just to see someone else being hit by a missile for a chance?”
“Now that's a good excuse!” said Guido with his arms closed “Come on, how long you two are going to pretend nothing has happened? Just say you love each other already!”
PRANG!!! (Sound of Guido head being smacked by a frying-pan and by Speedy punching him in the stomach)
“Who says that I love that idiot?” said Polly angry
“Yeah, and how I could love such a cute... er I just messed up, right?”
“Oh Speedy, you just said I was cute?” interrupted Polly all happy “Oh Speedy, do you have any idea of how...”
RINGGG!!!
“Hi, Big Al? No Francine voice doesn't sound like she is a guy, is me Guido, you know, the blue one? What? The center of the city in under attack of an army of metallic crows? Okay, don't worry, just by a mere pure coincidence Francine set the cannon to take us there, and no I don't think yellow is your color, bye” said Guido, who had just answered the phone, despite the severe blow to his head; there was a reason why he an Speedy wear helmets all the time after all.
“Okey, time to the rescue!” said Speedy and ran quickly to the special ovens only to smash himself into one, and dropping the black box from his pockets without noticing “Hey this thing doesn't work!”
“That's because you ran without looking and you unplugged the computer, you idiot! “ said Polly and plugged the cable back in. “There, it should work now”
"Wait, if the computer was turn off, that means the program was reset, right?" said Guido looking at the launch computer screen "Damn it was reset all right!, why couldn't we pay the extra 1000 bucks for the bios battery? Oh yeah, we needed a new oven!"
"Do you mean that..." said Speedy "No way, we cant program that thing, remember what happened the last time we tried?"
"Uh, my whole body shivers just remembering it, there isn't any other way?" asked Polly
"Yes, we could get Fran back here" said Guido
"We don't have time, she could be anywhere, and the city is under attack, we will just have to launch the cannon as it it!" said Speedy
"But then we will just crash in the building in front of us" yelled Polly "Even with our battle armors, we wont go out walking of such a close impact!"
"We have to admit it, Fran may not be a fighter, but we need her or this team doesn't work!" said Guido sighing
“Attention pizza cats” said a voice
“Is that Fran?” asked Guido confused “I don't see her anywhere!”
“Attention pizza cats” repeated the voice, then they noticed it was coming from a tape recorder next to the computer, that was connected to it by some wires “I knew you would mess up without me, so I hid instructions to set the cannon inside the cash counter. If this didn't happen and the computer was turned off by another reason, Ups?” said the tape recorder
“Wow, Fran thinks in everything” says Polly impressed then noticed a small black box in the ground and looked inside it
“She thinks we are idiots, how depressing!” says Speedy
“Yeah, you are an idiot, but we are still your friends, right?- said Polly and kissed him
“Hey, weren't you two saying you aren't a couple just minutes ago? And just when I don't have my camera, no fair!” said Guido shocked
“What was that for?” asked Speedy and Polly showed him a small paper that said “Hey Speedy, remind to save money to buy a ring for this box!, From the desk of Speedy“
“I found this inside a small black box you drooped when you crashed” said Polly smiling “Not that I wont kill you if you don't buy that ring soon, but for now lets go, the city is under attack and they need some...”
“Pizza power?” said Speedy looking right into her beautiful eyes
“Yes!!!” said Polly and hits him on the shoulder “Okey Guido, you get the instructions and program the cannon, Speedy and I will go, you stay because you are still wounded and we need someone here in case Fran comes back. After you launch us contact GB, that means Bad bird, got it?”
“Since when you became the leader?” asked Guido impressed
“Since I became the white cat girlfriend, now lets go, we don't have all day, LETS MOVE OUR TAILS!!!”
Just in the middle of the city, Francine and Bucky where starting their date when the robot crows attacked. Francine had got mad and started to trow things at the robots, but she didn't have Polly strength and they where too many, so they had to run for their lives!
“AHHH! WHY DO STUPID ROBOTS ALWAYS HAVE TO RUIN OUR DATES!!!” said Francine while she ran away and cried, holding Bucky hand, who barely could keep her pace.
“AHHH! DAMN YOU GUIDO!!!” said a familiar voice coming from a big strange fireball that crashed in a building who Francine has just passed by while running
“HERE I COME MY LOVE!!!” said a familiar feminine voice coming from a pink fireball that crashed next to the other fireball
“Oh my head” said Speedy, wearing his battle armor and walking and out of the building he just crashed in. To make things worse, then he was hug tightly by Polly
“Please stop it, you will breaks my ribs!” he said almost crying because of the pain
“Sorry my dear” said Polly smiling and lets him go, Speedy thought for a second that she was a lot more scarier this way
“Could you please cut that out? We have a city to rescue!”
“Oh right, sorry” she said smiling and sticking her tongue out, just when a few of the hundreds of robot crows noticed them and ran closer
“Take this you date destroyer!” said Polly slicing one in half
“Polly for the last time, we aren't on a date, this are work hours!- Speedy said annoyed as he kicked a robot with ease
“Not our date you dumb, Francine date!- Polly said tearing a robot battery off with her claws
“Oh right, sorry!” said Speedy and cuts a robot head off “You know, this things are junk, why they would send such weak enemies?”
“I don't know” she said as she used her sword to slice a robot arm off then started to beat it with its own arm “But I haven't had so much fun in years!”
About five-teen minutes later....
Back at the emporium, the clients had leaved to take cover at their homes and Guido was very annoyed “Oh right, those two go out in their “date”, but I have to stay here. Fran could come back, they say, right like this was going to happen in any... Fran?” said Guido as he saw a exhausted Francine, her purple dress all ruined, carrying a fainted Bucky in her arms.
“Oh my god, is he Ok?” Guido asked looking worried “Have those robots done something to him?”
“No, he is just very tired for all the running we had to do” Francine said looking very annoyed “Those damn robots, they are gonna pay!”
“How?” asked Guido “Did you pass your physical exam and became a real samurai pizza cat?”
“No” said Fran, left Bucky siting on a chair and started to walk to the basement “But yesterday I got the Missile launcher I ordered by mail!”
“Just what we need, ANOTHER crazy rocket girl!- said Guido and stooped Francine holding her by the arm “No, you cant go out, your duty is to be here giving Speedy and Polly support, who else can operate the cannon right and call the rescue team?”
“The rescue team moved to the new Pizzacat Emporium in China, so they wont be here on time, plus you didn't such a bad job with the cannon” Francine said looking him right into the eyes
“I need you to launch me, i am going to fight” he said
“You cant go out there, you are still wounded!” she said and poked Guido chest making him cry of pain “See? And I just touched you!”
“Then just point the cannon up so I get my battle armor and and get back here, it will give us an advantage if they decide to strike the emporium”
“Hahaha, the good old Guido, what do you think that strange machine in the basement is for?” she asked smiling
“You mean is not one of those things they sell on TV to lose weight?”
“Of course not, its the automatic battle armor ensambler! We just never used it because Speedy was the one who ensambled it and well... it took me months just to put the pieces the way they should be”
“That Speedy, he is such a goof, why is he the leader anyway?”
“Small print of the contract, the most stupid becomes the leader, so he is easy to blame for the others mistakes”
“Anyway, can you teach me how to use that thing?”
“I have no idea, but here is the manual” she said giving him a book bigger than his head
“Hey this says: 10.000 recipes to make pizza!” he said, barely being able to hold to book
“Well, sorry?” she said sticking her tongue out “Anyway is easy, just press the big red button and get inside the machine”
“Why cant the battle armors get manually esambled anyway?” he said and drooped the book over a table
“Because that way it avoids villains stealing them” she said
“Okey, anything else?” he asked
“Yes, MOVE YER TAIL YOU STUPID CAT, WE DONT HAVE ALL DAY!”
“All right, all right” he says and goes to the basement, push the red button and gets inside the machine, changing to his battle armor
Forty minutes before...
A cute female calico kitty called Mike walked to a bar with an angry look in her face. Inside she ordered a bottle of black beer, her favorite kind of beer. "What a dump" she thought looking the place over, not only everything looked old, but it also seemed they hardly cleaned it regularly. On one of the TVs hanging over the bar, there was breaking news regarding a dramatic increase of crime in Little Tokyo, mostly a rambling about ninja crows having stolen a lot of stuff in the past days. In fact those "ninja crows" where the robot crows the Big Boss used, but since the robberies happened in the dark, the public was blaming the ninja crows. Then someone covered with a dark cloak entered, everyone in the bar quickly rose from their seats and bar stools, bowing to the mysterious figure. The calico stood up and did the same, she was angry, but not in the mood for a fight, and this guy whoever he was looked important.
The mysterious man removes the hood of the cloak, revealing long bunny ears, black eyes, and looked at the kitty smiling. "Hi Mike, is been a long while" he said extending his paw, Mike shook his paw with a sly smile on her own face.
"You must be important now, whats it? Crime lord?" the feline female asked impressed, she was a bit shorter than the bunny, so she had to look up to see his eyes.
"Nah, not that much, but almost, I work for the crime lord in this city" he say siting in the same table she had picked and ordered a vanilla milkshake. In the last two weeks the Big Boss was able to easily take over the organized crime in the city, since there wasn't much of it left after the Cheese was exiled, a comet crashed and the smart villains moved away. After all he had an army of robots, lots of cash and the Rude noise at his side. Plus he had bombed a bank and attacked the palace and with the rumors of the awful things of what happened to those who opposed him, he was a kingpin no one wanted to mess around with.
"A milkshake? You sure haven't changed much" she said staring at his eyes, she used to have a crush on the bunny, and maybe she still liked him
"Don't think so, I just want to be sober if... we better talk this later... enjoy your beer, I will pay" the bunny said, he was the one who had cited her to the bar. He needed the feline special talents.
"So... got in a big mess again?" she whispered in a such low voice that only the bunny and those close to their table could hear
"Yes" he said not talking, but moving his lips, so only the calico could get the answer, she stood up and kissed him on the mouth, that was her way of saying "I understand", but the fact the kiss was in his lips and not in his checks meant something else.
"I didn't know you still felt something for me" he said smiling
"Well of course I do, why I would come with you here otherwise? But next time, i want to go to somewhere expensive" she said, part of what she said was a code, part of it true. What she said meant "You are cute, but whatever it is, I wont do it cheap!"
"Maybe I could take you to Paris on the summer, would you like that?" he said, that was a code for "Get me out of here, I need to disappear!"
"Yeah, but only if we go to a five start hotel" she said and holds his paw, she meant that the price had just go up.
"For you, anything kitty" he said, he had just agreed, just then the TV showed news about metal robot crows trashing the center of the city!
"You boss doing?" she asked looking at the TV, bullets seemed to do nothing those those things, the police was only able to slow them down
"Yeah" he said also looking at the TV, he still had about twenty hours left, he went to the counter and paid the drinks "Hey kitty, mind if I go to your place?"
"Not at all, as long as is only strictly business" she said, her tail nervously swishing around
"That's good for now I guess" he said and followed the kitty outside, there was some people running away, but this dump of a bar was far away from the center. She holds his hand, she still had the same old crush, but business where first. And who knows? maybe if his Boss didn't break the bunny neck before the job was done they could have fun later. The mercenary had to be pretty desperate to request her services as a "Eraser" a term got from a movie. What that means was that she could make anyone fake their death and disappear, she could also get people new identity, and sometimes, she could clean up the mess after a murder, erasing all clues that the police could get.
Forty-five minutes later, back at the center of the city, the battle had gotten harder as the rude noise and a Phoenix looking crow robot had arrived, just when Polly and Speedy had finished of all the robot crows.
Polly launched a high kick at the Phoenix robot, who ducked and grabbed the kitty's leg. The robot successfully countered and executed a Judo throw, tossing Polly to the floor. Polly covered by landing on her paw, performed a sweeping kick. The Phoenix robot jumped high into the air and guarded his face with his arms. He tucked his knees up to his chest to protect himself from the impending counterattack. Polly pushed himself off the ground and leaped into an uppercut. At that moment, Phoenix Maniac opened up by spreading his arms and legs, creating a blast of fire all over him that knocked Polly back to the ground and despite her armor, got her some burns.
Speedy couldn't help cause he was busy fighting the four members of the Rude Noise all by himself, at first it seemed easy, but the crows had been using his numeric advantage to tire him out, and even worse, in this kind of situation his Cat-Eye-Slash was useless. They where in the open and the attack was just too easy to duck by opponents that could fly fast. And Speedy had noticed that the crow armors looked odd, like they where bigger somewhat, but besides that they looked the same as always.
“Dammit!, there is no honor in this, at least Bad bird...er GB, used to fight me one on one!” Speedy said panting
“And that's why he always lost!” Said Bad Maxx “Just give up kitty, and we will give you a fast death, well I lie, is going to be merciless and slow!”
“Hey Maxx, I am the the one you hate most, not him” said GoodBird from a rooftop
“What? No cute catchphrases or hero posses?” Said Mojo Rojo
“Yeah birdie, aren't you a so called hero right now?” said Cannonball
“The traitor thinks he is so great, but who started the ninja crows clan war? It was all his fault” said Ronnie Geissmuller
“The ninja crows are in a clan war?” said GB looking surprised “No way, you are lying!”
“Oh yeah, what do you think it happens if the leader of the ninja crows is exiled and the second in commands quits, brightly bird?” said Bad Max then blocks a surprise attack from Speedy “Hey, that wasn't very honorable eighter!”
“We are still fighting” said Speedy “GB!, I don't need your pity, go help Polly!”
Without saying anything GB jumped from the rooftop and attacked Phoenix Maniac, who had started to gather red energy in its Axe, charging an attack to finish Polly off.
“Traitor!” said the robot, blocking the crow sword with his Axe, then Polly took the chance and attacked it from behind with her claws, barely damaging its armor.
“Argg, look at my poor claws!” she said angry, the burns hurt a lot despite only being first grade ones ”What the heck is that thing made off?”
Speedy meanwhile had got tired of the “hit and switch with partner” strategy of the Rude Noise and started to charge his special attack.
“Its useless kitty, we aren't inside a giant robot or going to fuse into a big crow, we are just gonna avoid it, there is plenty of space here”
“I know” said Speedy “But I am not aiming at you guys” he said looking at Phoenix Maniac
“Bzzth, I take the challenge, your power level is worthy Buzz” says the robot and starts to charge his own attack with his Axe, both look at each other, eyes burning with passion, Who would win? The new year model or the old but charismatic nineties model, our Hero Speedy Cerviche?
“Mi name is not Buzz!” said Speedy unleashing his attack, the robot unleashed his attack just a split of a second after Speedy one, a yellow energy ball vs a red energy ball, both fighters struggling to make their attack stronger. Then after almost two minutes, both attacks started to fade away, Speedy looked tired but the robot looked the same.
“No way!” Said Polly “That thing cant beat the Ginzu sword!”
“Bird's Eye Slash!!!”
A purple energy ball hit the robot from behind, destroying it in a big explosion, it turns out GB had taken the time to charge up his own attack
“What? Said Bad Maxx unable to believe what just happened “That's cheating!”
“So is going four on one” said Speedy barely able to stand up “So, now is going to be three vs four, wanna keep going?!
“HAHAHAHA!!!!” said Bad Maxx laughing maniacally
“Guys I think he snapped” Polly said “Argg my whole body hurts!”
“Don't worry kitties I will go for them, I still have plenty of energy left” said GB smiling
“Idiots! I don't laugh because I got mad for losing, I laugh because the plan is going right like it should” Bad Max said, as his armor started to fall off like it was dirt, only under his armor he had a different one, with spikes in his shoulders and gold and yellow colors “Meet the new an improved Bad Max, now with thunder-power”
“And don't think our Boss is the only one with new armor” said Mojo, his armor also falling off like dirt to reveal a tick brown armor "I am going to hit you harder than a Quake!
"Think I was annoying before? Take a look at me now!" said Ronnie, his armor falling off like the others, revealing a similar armor only in dark blue with white "You will be flooded with my power!"
"And I... well there wasn't an armor for me but... I am still here right?" said Cannonball looking nervous, he didn't had any armor because after making the robot get one there where only three left, plus he lost the Hanafuda game!.
In his hideout, the Big Boss was looking at this in his big screen monitor "Now those cats will fall, and without them the city will turn to chaos and people will revel. Then I will step in, offer my services to create a special military police, and the already bad finances of the palace will get even worse, so in order to pay me, they will have no choice than give me Little Tokyo itself" He thought smiling and rubbed his chin.
