2007 - Year of the Boar

As most of you already knew, in the Chinese calendar the year doesn't begin at Jan 1st. This year is beggining today, Feb 18th, and its sign is The Boar. I got a boar picture from the first SPC/KNT episode, who is one of the counselors of Shogun.

Um. Question: Is 1983 the year of the boar as well? Because I once remember seeing a statue of that kind of thing where you see a boar and it has the years it represented in the past and my birth year was among them. On the boar that is. So?
