Alternate universe: An alternate universe is a universe where Things, people, places and sometimes the reality is different from the established cannon. Example: An universe Where the Samurai Pizza cats are pirates

Stuck with the cannon: A fanfic where the main characters and just about everything minus minor differences is something that could have happened in the cannon. Example: A fanfic about the SPC fighting a Robot of the week, the villains are still the ninja crows, Big Cheese, Bad Bird and that.

Sequel: A fanfic set after a certain event that marked the end of the show, in our case it would be set after the “The Big Comet Caper 1&2”.

Prequel: A fanfic set before the events of  the “start“ in the cannon (Before "Stop Dragon My Cat Around"). In this case it could be a story of how the Samurai pizza cats became the Samurai pizza cats, or about their lives before the show, because everyone knows "The Pizza Cats Cop Cartoon Careers!" doesn’t count

Mary Sue: Mary Sue, sometimes shortened simply to Sue, is a pejorative term used to describe a fictional character who plays a major role in the plot on such a scale that suspension of disbelief fails due to the character's traits, skills and abilities being tenuously or inadequately justified. The concept is particularly characterised by overly idealized and clichéd mannerisms, lacking noteworthy flaws, and primarily functioning as wish-fulfillment fantasies for their authors. Mary Sues can be either male or female, but male characters are often dubbed "Gary Stu", "Marty Stu", or similar names.

While the label "Mary Sue" itself originates from a parody of this type of character, most characters labeled "Mary Sues" by readers are not intended by authors as such. Another definition of Mary-Sue is a character who is too perfect to be true, i. e. one with too many positive character traits compared to actual character flaws, or being remarkably attractive in comparison to the other characters.

To make it short: A Mary Sue is any Hero character that’s too perfect or powerful, to the point it ruins the plot. While he is the main character and not a fan character, we could thing of Kid muscle (Mantaro Kinniku) from Ultimate Muscle (Kinikuman second generation) as a Mary Sue because he never ever lost a fight, at least in the anime. In the manga Kevin Mask won the Chojin Crown, making  Kid muscle lose in the end of it. Bad Toei, bad Toei!

Fanfiction: (alternately referred to as fanfiction, fanfic, FF or fic) is a broadly defined term for fiction about characters or settings written by admirers of the original work, rather than by the original creators. The term usually applies to works that are uncommissioned and unauthorized by the owner/creators and publishers of the original and usually (but not always) works which are not professionally published. Fan fiction is defined outside of original fiction, which exists within its own discrete, professionally published universe, and therefore outside of canon works within that universe. Most fan fiction writers assume that their readers have knowledge of the canon universe (created by a professional writer) in which their works are based.

To make it short: A story made by fans, without the legal rights!

Original character: An original character, or OC, is a character created by a fanfic author or roleplayer for an established canon storyline. For instance, if someone were to write a story set in the Samurai Pizza Cats universe, but focused on a person who was not in the show or manga, the new character would be an OC. Another name for OC is "fan character".

This guide is supposed to be completed by everyone, is has to be to be a collaboration work, where everyone gives their own tips... and really everyone gives tips because is a lot easier than writing!.

Parody: A story where the characters don’t act like the show or act in an exaggerated way for comical purposes. Since SPC was a funny to start with, exaggerating the characters may not be a good idea, unless you add a twist to it. It can also have jokes and references to other shows, and any stuff you want as long is funny.

"A parody is a work created to mock, comment on, or poke fun at an original work, its subject, or author, by means of humorous or satirical imitation"

The Supreme Court of the United States stated that parody "is the use of some elements of a prior author's composition to create a new one that, at least in part, comments on that author's works." That commentary function provides some justification for use of the older work.

To make is short: While is really hard to be done right with SPC, a parody is a way of doing a funnyImitation and getting away with it!

Here's something to consider that only applies to SPC fanfics. Is including "The Narrator" a good idea? On the long lists of reasons for me to love SPC is how the Narrator in the show is also a character with slight interaction within the story, almost to a point where he abandons his post as a storyteller. They can get away with this in the show because they can still tell the story visually.

In a fanfic, however, the story is entirely dependent on written word. Whether you included the Narrator or not doesn't change how, ultimately, YOU are the narrator. So, here are your options:

-You can forget the Narrator completely; it's your story and you can tell it in whatever style you want.

-You can try to emulate the Narrator, but I say if you can't do it perfectly, don't do it at all.

-You can include the Narrator as a character. I find, in this case, the Narrator can't have any position in telling the story, and has to take a side-seat on a purely commentary position.

-You can try to share your storytelling position with a second narrator; one emulating the Narrator in the show. This would be annoying to read, and you'll fail.  Grr... I'm mad

I want to hear what everyone else thinks.

The Narrator

The Narrator should not be overused; I learned that in the hard way.

Action

“Action” in text is hard to do, but is difficult to do a long story with only jokes, try watching some Korean Kun-fu movies or something, if that doesn’t work, get help.
