SPC 08 - Kind of a Drag

Guido falls in love! Yes, I realise Guido falls in love almost as frequently as this board has disputed how stupid Speedy is, but this time Guido is truly head over heels. Her name is Ruby: a cute little redhead whose dirt poor, needs a good pair of glasses and likes to weld! Ruby also happens to be on the Big Cheese’s hit list, all because she accidentally saw him in his surprise costume for ‘The Sound of Music’ – without his hair done. Big no no.

This is a Guido episode (that automatically makes it good  ). It’s okay as far as SPC episodes go. I like that cool, suave, ladies man Guido is reduced to nerves and gibberish when he sets eyes on Ruby. Perhaps he had met the one? Too bad Ruby’s got an ugly boyfriend who sounds retarded.

Some fun facts: Ruby’s eyes start out brown and then later change to blue. The girl in the beginning of this ep (the one who throws water on Guido) is the same girl Speedy briefly falls in love with in ‘Destructo Robots at Popular Prices’.

Other highlights: Guido’s love trance, and Ruby mistaking Bad Bird for Guido.

A great episode indeed. We also get to see Guido screw up a pizza delivery which in turn, infuriates Polly  . Sheesh, she's touchy when it comes to deliveries that aren't even hers. He's probably done it before but because Speedy got more screentime in delivering pizzas, we never get to see the other cats. Ruby might have been the right girl for Guido as he FINALLY gets the point of what love is all about. Also, the Big Cheese is very touchy when it comes to his personal matters. I mean he's not ashamed of doing it in front of Jerry but he is for others. Due to Big Cheese's freqent crossdressing, I used to think that he was a she. That and because of his high-pitched voice.

Definitely one of my favourite episodes.  I always feel sorry for Guido when he finds out Ruby's already spoken for.

Tell me about it. I like how Polly got mad about Guido, and shouted "I'm running outta pans!" The frozen expression on Guido is priceless, when he said this: "PINCH ME, I MUST BE DREAMING!!" Someone better make that an Emoticon.
