I know no one uses IRC anymore, so what do they use? I see Flash kid in msn somethimes, but it has been ages since i saw D-Mac, Kyo, and Kageneko there...

I use IRC. But I don't use esper... I use Rizon. And my computer can't really handle being constantly connected to two different servers. It times out a lot.

alas, no one uses irc because no one was/is ever on it, a vicious cycle that perpetuated itself.
I use pidgin as an all in one IM client, but I'm rarely on anymore because I use ventrillo to physically talk (using my headset) with my friends online nowadays.

OK, I've got my MSN and AIM links set up, and I'm fixing my IRC client so it won't ping timeout all the time when connected to two servers.

I remember wanting to learn how to use IRC to chat with the non-AOL users back in the old days. Guess I never needed to, heh.
